The seller (Matt Pons) should be ashamed of himself for even listing the 1968 Mustang convertible I bought from him on ebay. I don't know what my legal actions are at this point, or what actions ebay can take on my behalf, but I know why he wanted cash or a cashiers check up front before he released the car. I should have used pay pal or a credit card, then I would have had some kind of recourse.
My fault for not doing a personal inspection of the car, but people should not be allowed to sell junk on ebay. This cannot be restored and it is "not" a project car. It has been rat infested, there is no solid metal on the car, it left a trail of rust from Massachusetts to Utah, the delivery driver got a kick out of that.
The only monetary value of this car is the engine, convertible top motor and a few chrome pieces. No brakes on the car. Can't even get the wheels off to repair, they are rusted together. I'm very disappointed with the seller!!
Lubing and repair in the back yard will not be opportunities.
If Mr.Pons has any conscience at all, he will refund at least 1/2 of my money $6,766 plus $1,000 shipping = $3,800.
I don't know where he finds these cars, but they are not worth restoring. (he has another Mustang convertible listed right now, with the same verbage, he is looking for cash again. Listing #200099174492. He has excellent ratings for selling baseball cards, it looks as though he just started in the car business.
I am not rich, I can't put $40,000 to $50,000 into a piece of rusted out garbage, lubing will not fix these doors. Every piece of metal on this car has to be replaced. Shame on you Matt!! The car is not worth the $1,000 I paid to get it here. I got swindled big time, and it is time for this kind of selling to stop.

It's not the car, I bought the car for my wife because it's what she has always wanted. It's been in the shop for 6 weeks and going for 7. The pictures looked nice, it even said it only had less then 500 miles on a rebuilt engine and it was certified! I fly to Las Vegas($130) and took a taxi ($60) to the house. He started it up, saw some things wrong right away and they reassured me it would be easy to fix. No seat belts, air conditioner was in place but not hooked up, we can fix that. Started to drive it home and it would not start at the gas station. Then 50 miles on the road it over heated. I had to get towed in. At the shop they said only the radiator needed to be changed. Then the exhaust, then the complete brake system, now the electrical for the headlights. The mechanic said the heater was never set up, looks like they just pieced everything together. Paid way to much for the car and now paying way to much to getting on the road.
You or have someone inspect the car before you bid. Be skeptical and ask lots of questions, like 'is it drivable?' sounds silly but don't assume just because it was rebuilt that it will make a long trip. Is it legal in you state to drive, ours didn't have seat belts and the exhaust was illegal in California. Ask if you can test drive it before bidding. Get the feel for the car.
We have beautiful car but we just want to be able to drive it. The 65 Mustang is very nice have, but not the headaches. Be careful.

This car is not running it was the worst buy I ever made It's going to cost me close to 2,000 to fix

The car was nothing at all it was discribed has..Cracked windshield not stated .Didnt have a rebuild engine or tranny.Carbutor is used poor condition..Very hard to start its not the chock as owner is stating ..The list goes on..I do not recommend this seller tell lies

This was a great experiance. I am very happy with my new 66 mustang. The seller drove the vehicle to me and made me feel very well about the vehicle. I have installed AC in the vehicle and I drive it around town.

Bought this Mustang because i had an 83 coupe when it was new. I had wanted a convertible then.

The car needed some work but was basically very sound. Most parts are available repro, except 3.8 engine convertible body motor mounts, so make sure yours has a good one if you're thinking of buying.

A nice way into the Mustang hobby!

Everything in the vehicle is amazing. But most importantly the power this car can run fast the acceleration is unbelieveable i would definetly recommend this vehicle.

stays hot in summer inside. I love the power,no need to have a V8 with this power. People turn and look when I drive. Nice car!!

I honestly have not found anything on this car that I don't like. The power is amazing, the handeling is amazing, everything about it is great. If you are looking into getting a new mustang, make sure you get the Shaker1000 stereo, it is absolutely awesome. Everyone that has seen my car compliments it. Ford did a great job of making the new Mustangs resemble the old. I have a 66' stang as well, and it is awesome being able to compare all of the things they have in common. I would recommend this vehicle to anyone.
