I decided to buy the Titan primarily because I like the look of it. I knew Nissan and toyota were the top in my opinion for reliability, and I like the style of the titan compared to the Tacoma and Tundra. Since then The Tundra has come out with a tougher look, but it still doesn't have the aesthetic appeal of the Titan.
I love the power of this truck. It has plenty of horsepower: 317, and even more torque: 385! With its 5 speed automatic transmission, I can cruise at 55mph with the rpms around 1200!! at 80mph, the revs are around 2000. I feel the road, I'm not sure about it sometimes, like its vibrations, or bumps in the road, I need to have my tires balanced again. The layout of the instruments and controls are well placed, and under the hood everything is easy to see and get to. There is plenty of in cab storage, with over head compartments, a center console and door storage galore. Even an outside door on the bed for, jumpers, tow strap, hitch, etc. Little things in the interior seem to fall of, like the glove box, cup holder, seat levers, etc, but I overlook this in light of the greatness of Titan. Also, my air bag light came on, there is a defective wiring harness recall. The towing capacity is very good, but the payload is low (850?). That hasen't stopped me from loading it with two yards of topsoil, or 3500 pounds of concrete mix. I like to break the rules and make machines work as hard as I do. The Titan behaves well overloaded, (better than my toyota pickup did with the 5 spd 4 cyl). If i did it a lot though I would put in stiffer suspensioun or rear pump up air shocks. It bottoms out around 2800 pounds. Its easy to maintain this truck yourself. (I use Mobil 1 synthetic motor oil, and I use Valvoline Max life tranny fluid, $3, instead of Nissan J-Matic which is $12 a quart!!) And if you put in Iridium spark plugs, they last 100 thousand miles at least. My titan has 110 miles on it, and I think it will go another 110 with no problems. Unless I wreck it again. Then I will buy another Titan, and take even better care of it!
Oh, my wife took a shovel to my Titan, and out of 5 blows, only one did damage. A broken headlight lens. And some chipped paint. but no dents!! I thank God it wasnt a sledgehammer. And I thank her for not aiming for the windows ;)
