What it's Worth - Price Range Information
Just Sold on eBay Motors
The Just Sold on eBay Motors price range represents the lowest and highest completed sale price for this vehicle on eBay Motors within the last 90 days.
Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value Range
The Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value Range is representative of dealers' asking prices and is the starting point for negotiation between a consumer and a dealer. This Suggested Retail Value Range assumes that the vehicle has been fully reconditioned and has a clean title history. This value also takes into account the dealers' profit, costs for advertising, sales commissions and other costs of doing business. The range represents asking prices that typically occur for the vehicle model throughout the United States, not all vehicles sell for the exact same price, which is why the company also offers a value range. By showing both the low and high ends of the range the company can better reflect whether a given vehicle's asking price varies widely or hardly at all. The final sale price will likely be less depending on the vehicle's actual condition, popularity, type of warranty offered and local market conditions. This range includes pricing for used vehicles, not new or late model vehicles.

Awesome bike... extremely responsive and a blast to ride. Don at Ida Grove Kawasaki was also awesome to work with. When I picked up the bike, his son gave me the complete run done on the bike as well as numerous suggestions to make the bike run at that much of a higher performance. Thanks so much.

My son had a KX 65 that never gave any trouble,so when he decided to race the KX85 was perfect. We have 2 KX85's ,practice and race. Both bikes run great ,have plenty of power ,good suspention for big jumps and we have never not finished a race. KAWASAKI 2 STROKE KX 85 GREAT BIKE
These kids who race 4 strokes and don't know the power of a 2 stroke will never be as good riders as the kids who race 2-strokes.
Thanks
mooretwins2 for all you used seadoo parts

My 10 yeay old son races motocross motorcycles,He has been riding motorcycles since he was 3 years. This is his fourth bike in seven years of riding & this is his second Kawasaki. The main reason for buying & racing this kind of bike is because their are very versatile. You can change several things on this bike to adapt to your type of racing & so many of the parts are interchangable with about seven years of production of this bike, which makes finding just about any part very affordable & easy to find.Any thing you need for this bike is always found on EBAY.I would like to think of myself as a power buyer on EBAY with over 150 purchases & a 100% feedback rating & I have never been disapointed whit any of my purchases.

2006 Kawasaki KX: 2006 Kawasaki Vulcan 1600 Nomad

Background: This was my first touring bike and my first Kawasaki. I put approximately 5,000 miles on the bike in 3 months before trading up to the ZX-14.

Performance: The Kawasaki 1552cc V-twin offers good grunt for this bike (about 80 ft-lbs torque at 2700 RPMs at the wheel; about 60 RWHP), but at 772 lbs dry, about 30 more HP would be welcomed. I didn't have any problems passing, but 2-up occasionally required a downshift. The 50 degree V-twin also sounds better to my ears than the 52 degree engine from the Honda VTX, but this is rather subjective. A set of pipes will do wonders for any engine.

Reliability: Didn't really own the bike long enough. Based upon readings and what I observed with the bike, I don't foresee any major issues in this dept.

Comfort: Not the most comfortable bike I've ever ridden for long-distance touring (that would be the ZX-14), but definitely comfortable relative to other cruisers, and I would put it in the top two or three touring cruisers. I could go about 250 miles before my tailbone was exhausted, but compared to the 400-500 per day I rode aboard my other Kawasaki, this isn't all that great. Those who only ride cruisers will find the bike extremely comfortable, but if you're coming off a more balanced bike like a standard or a dedicated cruising bike like the Goldwing, this bike won't seem all that comfortable after a few hundred miles.

Quality and Craftsmanship: I would put the quality on par with the other big 3 from Japan (Honda, Suzuki, Yamaha). The chrome and accents on Kawasaki cruisers seem to be of a little higher grade than that of Honda, for what that's worth.

Overall: I was impressed with the bike, and if I were 20 years older and in no need of a bike to warp time and space, the Nomad would have suited me just fine. As it stands, I would call it a comfortable touring bike, offering decent performance (by touring cruiser standards), decent fuel economy, understated, if a bit bland, styling for a fair price. The only other bike I considered was a Road King Classic, but the price differential between the Kawi and the HD is substantial, and the Kawi is functionally superior.
