What it's Worth - Price Range Information
Just Sold on eBay Motors
The Just Sold on eBay Motors price range represents the lowest and highest completed sale price for this vehicle on eBay Motors within the last 90 days.
Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value Range
The Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value Range is representative of dealers' asking prices and is the starting point for negotiation between a consumer and a dealer. This Suggested Retail Value Range assumes that the vehicle has been fully reconditioned and has a clean title history. This value also takes into account the dealers' profit, costs for advertising, sales commissions and other costs of doing business. The range represents asking prices that typically occur for the vehicle model throughout the United States, not all vehicles sell for the exact same price, which is why the company also offers a value range. By showing both the low and high ends of the range the company can better reflect whether a given vehicle's asking price varies widely or hardly at all. The final sale price will likely be less depending on the vehicle's actual condition, popularity, type of warranty offered and local market conditions. This range includes pricing for used vehicles, not new or late model vehicles.

Beware of auctions on HIJACKED seller accounts (sellers with good feedback, high number feedback) fell for phishing scheme and now their accounts are being abused to upload totally fraudulent and fake auctions.

One such auction of for

2005 Honda Gold Wing Lehman Monarch BUY IT NOW $4200

on 5/20/2007 it is advertised at BUY NOW $4200

Miles: 1445
Exterior: Yellow
VIN Number: 00000000000000000
Type: Touring

the scammer will try to lure you into off eBay transaction
ask you to Western Union / Money Gram your money to him and if you do, you will never hear from the scammer and loose your money.

The tell-tell sign is some free email address directly in the auction description, with a text such as

"for more pictures and additional information email me at"
"don't miss this chance"
"this car can be yours just email me at"

for detailed info how these scams work and how to identify them you can view my eBay guide on Fraud auctions here

http://reviews.ebay.com/FRAUD-Auctions-WARNING_W0QQugidZ10000000001625942

There are many many scam guides with accounts of specific situations already published on eBay. Before you part with your hard earned money, please take some time to read through some of the Scam and Fraud Auction warnings, the following link will pull up listing of warnings written by eBay members on eBay scammers:

http://search.reviews.ebay.com/scam_W0QQuqtZg

Never ever pay for any expensive item by Western Union or Moneygram

If you receive message that looks like from eBay - always check your MY MESSAGES section, if eBay sent it or if real eBay member sent it it will be in MY MESSAGES

eBay WILL NEVER send you invoice recommending Western Union as payment and telling you the seller is bonded by eBay, but the scammer WILL! Scammers are very good in creating "eBay lookalike" invoices in en effort to make their scam looking official.

The Honda GL-1100 was a great motorcycle. With more power then the 1000 and none of the stator problems of the 1200 the 1100 for many is still the "Wing of choice" and deserves recognition as the first bike to truly conquer the touring sement.

The GL1100, produced from 1980 to 1983, introduced the concept of an integrated fairing and luggage system with the 1980 Interstate model, and also distinguished the Goldwing as an American built motorcycle. Honda's new Marysville Ohio facility opened September 10, 1979 and the Goldwing has been exclusively manufactured at the Marysville plant ever since. Things like factory sound systems and air suspension became standard equipment on touring bikes because of the GL1100. Sales of the GL1100 were phenomenal, and this sparked the introduction of competitive, purpose built touring bikes by other manufacturers. Honda continued to refine the GL with the introduction of the final GL1100 model - the 1983 GL1100 Aspencade.

Defects in item were hidden or not visible at the time of purchase. Since unable to write an accurate assessment on Ebay, have no recourse to recoup
losses on item....

Having a GOld Wing has always been our dream. A lot of the trouble that we've had with this is just because it IS a 1980...but that is what we could afford!
It overheated and would not start if you had to shut off the engine. My husband is a pretty good tinkerer,, and with help from the Internet, trouble shot the whole thing, enough to figure out it was NOT the water pump! It was the fan switch.
He mentioned that he was impressed with how easy it was to work on, which, considering that a lot of dealers have the "10 year" rule and won't work on old bikes, is a good thing! I would suggest that if you get a bike this old, that you be a pretty good DIY-er, or not be afraid to TRY. Also realize that you will spend a lot of time searching the Internet for after market parts!
He was also surprised with how HEAVY it was. Once you get it up, it is well balanced, but it takes a little getting used to. Also you need to get used to turning it around! Do NOT park in a spot where you have to back out...at least at first. Now that we've had it for a month, he is getting much more confident with maneuvering it. With one this old, you do not sit as low to the ground as with the newer ones, so you are using your toes (he is 5'7") But the new ones that sit closer to the ground for the driver have the PASSENGER high in the air over the driver's head, so you don't get the windbreak. (I like the windbreak, myself!)
Otherwise, the bike is everything we had hoped for...smooth, comfortable, and it loves to cruise at 60. It also takes 1/3 of the gas to fill it up, at 1/4 the price! There is LOTS of packing room.We are taking our first trip on it this weekend, a trip that otherwise we would not be able to afford. And, yes, we are the 'typical" GoldWingers....60ish and have had bikes before.
If you like a big comfy bike for travelling a lot, this is for you. We travelled on our Yamaha 750, but it just didn't have the "cush".

It is the cadillac of touring bikes. My first bike was a James in 1952. I have ridden many different bikes over the years and until recently I was not interested in touring bikes. Now I am hooked and especially my wife.

2006 Honda Gold Wing: Owing/riding a 1996 Goldwing 1500a

I've been riding for 36 years, and have been touring for 19 of those years...of which 18 were on 2 Goldwings, and we own a 1996 GL1500a (aspencade). The Goldwing (like all 1500's) is the most sold/bought touring bike in the world (fact). It is extremely comfortable, tons of torque, and very smooth.

Based in the Pacific NW, my wife and I have ridden ours across the U.S. to Niagara Falls and Toronto CAN; to Edmonton, Alberta CAN thru the Canadian Rockies; to the black hills of South Dakota; to Alaska around the entire Interior (thru Yukon and BC), and it performs flawlessly 100% of the time. We also pull a trailer, and we don't even know the trailer is behind us.

The bike is heavy, but THAT is what makes it so comfortable for touring (jus like the difference between a Toyota Corolla and a Chevy Yukon - weight makes it more comfortable on long trips). It is awkward to handle in parking lots at very slow speeds due to its weight. Because of it's weight, it is not a bike for a beginner or a person who hasn't ridden for a long time who is re-entering into riding. To help with handling, put progressing springs in the front, and a heavy duty fork brace - and the improvement is considerable.

I Liked The Bike For Sale, It Was Exactly What And How He Described It, I Bought It Because Of The Restoration Potential There Is In Restoring This Bike And The Fact That It, Motor Wise, Was In Good Shape. There Is Some Cosmetic Issues With It, But Nothing That Cant Be Fixed With A Polish Rag, Elbow Greese And TLC. I Am Well Satisfied With My Purchase.

2003 Honda Gold Wing: Honda Goldwing GL1800

I was looking for a newer Honda Goldwing as I had been riding a 1982 Model for 8 yrs and loved it. I was shopping for a brand new one and decided to look on ebay for a quality used piece before buying brand new. The one I bought had only 2000 miles on it with warranty left. It is just like brand new. I have put 800 miles on the bike and dearly love it. It is a lot more powerful and smoother than my old one. It was a very pleasant buying experience all around. There is nothing I dislike about the purchase.

I just purchased my second 1984 Goldwing Aspencade. It is a great bike as was the first one I owned. This one has been converted to a trike and is a great ride. Has plenty of power and speed, no need for a 1500 or 1800 cc, and is a very reliable machine.

This 1990 Gold wing is truly a remarkable machine. It rides comfortably , good gas mileage (39 MPG) at today's prices good deal. I just made a 1200 mile trip and only 40 gallons of fuel. The only dislike , is the weight and is kind of top heavy. The balance point could be a lot lower. I understand that the new gold wing have this. I decided to buy this bike due to the gas prices and it has been a pleasure to have been able to get the mileage and gas savings .
