What it's Worth - Price Range Information
Just Sold on eBay Motors
The Just Sold on eBay Motors price range represents the lowest and highest completed sale price for this vehicle on eBay Motors within the last 90 days.
Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value Range
The Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value is representative of dealers' asking prices and is the starting point for negotiation between a consumer and a dealer. This Suggested Retail Value assumes that the vehicle has been fully reconditioned and has a clean title history. This value also takes into account the dealers' profit, costs for advertising, sales commissions and other costs of doing business. The range represents asking prices that typically occur for the vehicle model throughout the United States, not all vehicles sell for the exact same price, which is why the company also offers a value range. By showing both the low and high ends of the range the company can better reflect whether a given vehicle's asking price varies widely or hardly at all. The final sale price will likely be less depending on the vehicle's actual condition, popularity, type of warranty offered and local market conditions. This range includes pricing for used vehicles, not new or late model vehicles.

After having some type of motorcycle for most of the the last 34 years, I bought this bike a couple weeks ago. My last bike was a 1982 750 Virago which I had for 18 years (great bike, by the way).
The reasons for buying it:
1 inexpensive to buy
2 fun to ride
3 fuel efficient
At 5'10", 185 pounds I am very comfortable on the bike. It has plenty of power for solo riding which is mostly what I will be doing. Going through the gears and shifting at 12k rpm is a blast.
I have only ridden the Kaw 4 times, so my reliability rating is based strictly on website reading and the previous owner. There is a lot of info on these bikes on the net.
The only complaint, so far, is that the mirrors do not give visibility directly behind me. Part of the problem was that the temps have been in the 40-45 degree range and I was wearing a few layers, but the mirrors are not far enough apart even if I wear just a t-shirt.

I have a 180 mile round trip to get to work each day. So with the soaring price of gas, I decide to look into buy a motorcycle to drive a couple of day a week. After looking at a couple of different models online, one of the most fuel efficient was the Ninja 250 boasting nearly 70 mpg. I went to several motorcycle dealer around only to learn that it was next to impossible to buy a Ninja 250. This is probably due in part to the gas mileage and to the updated styling that makes the 08 an awesome looking entry level sport bike. They tried to sell me on a 500, but I would not be able to get nearly the gas milage plus the 250 was just a flat out better looking bike. So, I decided to give ebay a shot, and yes there you could find one. One problem though, since the demand was high you would have to be willing to pay more for the bike than it sold for at the dealership. I would have to settle for a old model, but now I don't think I settled at all. I found an 04 with 1124 miles. I could not be more pleased with it. Instead of only riding it a couple of days a week, I ride it whenever possible. The gas mileage is just as stated. I average about 72 miles to the gallon. I would recommend this bike to anyone. It has plenty of power (bear in mind, I'm 39 and never rode street bikes before) and it is a decent looking bike.

parts are very cheep for this bike. it has alot of power but still is comfortable to ride. plus it has great mpg (55-70). there is nothing like it for the cost. its a great starter bike b/c its easy to handle, its lite and its fun to ride. but experienced riders would also like this bike too because its quick and nimble, great for city driving

i have owned my 636 from mile 12 and in the first year put over 10k miles on it. the only problem i have come across is that it has started to burn oil probably due to riding like the police are hot on my ass. this bike performs like or sometimes btter then a lot of 750s and has the insurance of a 600. being that i'm 6'2" a lot of rockets are uncomfortable due to how much you're cranked over the handle bars but this bike i can ride all day long and not be sore when i get home. as far as performance goes, the 636 will pull wheelies off of just hitting the throttle hard in first and will clutch up easily in 2nd. the brakes are even good enough out of the box to lift the back tire off the ground with a passenger. 636 has definitly made me a kawasaki customer for life.
