What it's Worth - Price Range Information
Just Sold on eBay Motors
The Just Sold on eBay Motors price range represents the lowest and highest completed sale price for this vehicle on eBay Motors within the last 90 days.
Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value Range
The Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value is representative of dealers' asking prices and is the starting point for negotiation between a consumer and a dealer. This Suggested Retail Value assumes that the vehicle has been fully reconditioned and has a clean title history. This value also takes into account the dealers' profit, costs for advertising, sales commissions and other costs of doing business. The range represents asking prices that typically occur for the vehicle model throughout the United States, not all vehicles sell for the exact same price, which is why the company also offers a value range. By showing both the low and high ends of the range the company can better reflect whether a given vehicle's asking price varies widely or hardly at all. The final sale price will likely be less depending on the vehicle's actual condition, popularity, type of warranty offered and local market conditions. This range includes pricing for used vehicles, not new or late model vehicles.

I have to highly recomend this little bike.
You must first know what you're getting into before you buy.
It is small but nimble. Faster than all but the fastest cars but slower than most sportbikes.
60 mpg and 75 mph crusing is not out of the norm.
Brakes are very good when you learn to apply both progressively so as to not nose-dive. Kawasaki has found a good comprimise between a compliant ride over bumps and cornering stability. The suspension and seating position is comfortable for all under 180 lbs and less than 5'10". Although very capable for others it's just not ideally suited.
Sportbike fun at honda Nighthawk price. Ultra reliable!

FAST FAST FAST FAST!!!!!! Did I mention FAST? This bike is awesome. The brakes are very responsive and the ride is pretty comfortable considering it's a sport bike. It's not nearly as comfortable as a cruiser (which is why I gave it a 3) but it's good for about 60 - 100 miles. The one other thing I don't like about it is maintenance. Getting to things on this bike is a pain just because all of the fairing. If your paying people to work on your bike then theres no problem. Get one and hang on!!!!!!!!

Bought 2003 250R as starter street bike for 18year old. Bikes easy to ride, comfortable, controlable, water cooled, all the controls and good looks of the larger displacement bikes with fuel economy. Runs really good thru the 6 gears but at 70mph you are looking for another gear so its a little tachy from this point on, brought it up to 93mph with passenger though, about 400lbs. between the two of us.I enjoy it,18 year old took off without a hitch first time ever on a motorcycle. I think bike has a lot of character, its hard to believe its just a 250cc. Its great bike for a beginner or someone that just wants to take nice little cruises to enjoy riding. Priced about the same as a nice scooter. I'm please with the 250R and Ive had a few streetbikes KZ650,CB750, KZ1000,1340 lowrider. If you're wondering if you'll like it, I believe you just might.

My bike itself had some heating issues, but once those were taken care of i found that there are plenty of after-market tid bits to fiddle your fancy.
although the bike is a few years old it keeps up with the newer 600's plenty fine. Although it revs a bit slower than the new bikes I think this is a lot more practical in the view of daily riding.

on a side note I'm getting about 38mpg riding it a little harder than daisy might.

I Have owned a 1989, 1997, and a 2003 Ninja 250. The 250 is no powerhouse badass bike, but is a capable commuter. Surprisingly quick for a small displacement bike, as well as easy to handle in the twisties. On the highway, it keeps up, and passes traffic okay. But passing does take some forethought and planning. Top speed is about 100 mph. Will cruise at 75 mph all day. Although some have had issues with oil blowing back into the airbox. Personally, I only encounter the oil in the airbox after extended 10,000 rpm riding.

Did I mention the 14,ooo rpm redline? The thing screams...and likes it.

A proven, reliable performer - and a bargain to boot.

Parts from '88 through 2007 haven't changed much, so the bike is easy to find parts for.

Reliable if you keep up with the maintenance, and not scary fast...a good overall motorcycle.
