1998 Harley-Davidson Sportster

It is a good size bike for a smaller person like a woman. Harley is always a good buy. The special addition has lotz of extras and will be a great addition to our family of riders.

I liked the exterior color and the price. I decided to buy it because of the price and all of the extras. As far as the dislikes. I do not dislike nothing about this Harley.

Extras: Windshield, Delux Seat, Luggage rack/padded back rest, Foreward foot controls, Upgraded hand controls and foot pegs, Handle bar bag, Real leather saddle bags ( $599.00 at today's prices.) extra decorative items. At today's prices, the extra items on the bike would cost over $1600 plus installation fees.

For most of my life I've wanted a Harley Davidson Motorcycle, but either my working situation - on the road as a musician - or financial responsibilities did not permit me to obtain one. After moving to Milwaukee, and experiencing 3 Harley Anniversary bashes - 95th, 100th, and 105th - I decided to finally fullfill my dream. The local dealers had several 1200 Sportsters but they were a bit out of my budget, so I turned to eBay and found this bike.

This bike is great!! It's a typical Sportster with the Sportster ride. It's a bit stiff compared to the bigger Harleys, and since the motor is a direct mount, there is some noticable vibration. It is to my understand that the bikes that are 2004 and newer have isolated motor mounts that cut out a lot of the vibration. The bike feels very solid, the handling is very positive, and has good pickup and acceleration. Even being 10 years old, and with over 43,000 miles on it, it runs and rides great. The quality and craftsmanship of Harley Davidson really shows through. This bike is SOLID!!! It never fails to start on the first push of the starter, shifts smoothly, and rides like a dream....for a Sportster.

The Sportster is a great bike for someone who wants to move up to a bigger bike, and/or then eventually move up to a bigger Harley Topuring bike like the Road King, Softail, or others, or for someone who wants a bike to ride short distances for pleasure...I wouldn't suggest it for long trips.

Older sportster are very affordable, and if they've been taken care of I wouldn't be concerned with the mileage. They don't call it Milwaukee Iron for nothing!! Because of it's moderate weight, and ease of handling, it's great for people, like me, who haven't been on a bike for a number of years and want to get back into the sport of riding. I haven't been on a bike for over 34 years, and after taking the Harley Rider's Edge course I had no problem riding and handling the bike.

I highly recommend a Sportster for anyone wanting a first Harley, or someone who wants a nice mid sized bike.

This motorcycle is in excellent condition. It had a new battery installed by the previous owner and starts right up. I bought this for my 23 year old son and he just loves it. He wants to ride everyday. The price was way below market value. I have no complaint's at all about it. I like when I do business with an honest seller. that makes a big difference.

The Motorcycle in question is a fine example of a top notch seller who presented a
vehicle in an honest manner and was most agreeable and helpful to the point that I felt more of a friend to him then just a buyer. It is a wonderful Bike and was cared for like a parent tends to their child. This is the best purchase I have made to date on eBay!

We had been loking for a well maintained Sportster that was in our price range. The communications between the seller and I were the best. I could tell right away that the seller was a mature rider and was relieved that the bike had not been abused. My wife and I went to pick the bike up and it was exactly what had been described by the seller. We have had no dislikes since the purchase and are completely satisfied.
