We had a Honda Shadow Aero, was too small, bought a 98 Gold Wing, it was too top heavy, finally settled on an '03 Heritage Softail after talking to several friends who ride Harleys. This is the first Harley we have owned and WOW. Harley has come a long ways. Smoothest ride you can imagine and the fuel injection can't be beat. This is a real head turner and we got a great great deal on Ebay on this bike. There are none listed right now anywhere near what we paid for this one. We ride it to work and all weekend long. You can tell the difference in quality the second you touch the bike and it is so well balanced. With the Screamin' Eagle pipes it has the sound you want without being too loud for the long haul. The anniversary Silver and Black colors are beautiful. We would purchase this bike all over again.

2003 Harley-Davidson Softail: 2003 Fat Boy

This review is based upon my rental of a Fat Boy in Hawaii while on work/vacation. The bike was stock except for custom beach bars and custom exhaust. I put approximately 300 miles on the bike during my rental period (it's an island...where you gonna go?). For reference, I owned a VTX at the time, and I ride long-distance (20,000+ year pace).
I was pleasantly surprised with the Fat Boy. Power was totally underwhelming, but I expected that, so I won't knock the bike for that. The seating position was typical cruiser fare. Personally, I prefer floorboards to pegs, so I was right at home on the Fat Boy. The beach bars did make the ride unnecessarily uncomfortable, as it was more like trying to steer a wheel barrow than a motorcycle, which was pretty tiring after a half hour or so, but this wasn't Harley's fault (rental agency put them on). The custom exhaust proved to be a ton of fun, as I had fun blasting through the many tunnels that dot the big island and twisting the throttle to hear that V-twin cackle. Overall, I had a bunch of fun on the Harley, but not enough to convince me that I needed to buy one. I look forward to my next rental.

Excellent condition, exactly as described. Easy transaction, very helpful with the transporter to load the motorcycle and secure it to the skid. Awesome people to deal with!
2003 Harley-Davidson Softail: I had to replace a cam gear, the one in it was to big. It was a good buy.

I have purchased expensive items on eBay before, but never for close to $10,000.00. I was a little nervous at first, but the excellent feedback of the seller convinced me to make the purchase. The motorcycle is showroom quality. The extras on the bike make it's value close to 30K. Everything about it is beautiful--it's condition, low milage, the fact it is a centennial edition, it's smooth ride, etc., may have been my best purchase yet. The transaction was smooth from beginning to the end--which included shipping it. I am thankful and very pleased with this item

I had a Sportster before I got this Softail, no comparison in ride and handling and looks. I love it. I haven't gotten it out without someone complimenting the way it looks and the way it sounds. Plus, I got it at a great price right here on Ebay!!!!!

The rating that I gave for the bike is somewhat unfair. The reason that I gave it such a low mark is because I have been unable ride the bike, since I have not recieved the Title! Without the Title, I am unable to register the bike, and get a license plate. The bike has been sitting in my gargage since August, and I hate the day I ever saw the bike advertised by Anthony Autogroup in Gurnee Illinois. I can't even resell it without a Title. Also, I still haven't recieved the passenger backrest, or the passenger seat that were both pictured in the ad. I have been forced to contact the State Police in Illinois, as well as Ebay's Vehicle Protection Program, and both agree that I have a good case. As of early October, Im still waiting to hear from them.
