2005 Harley-Davidson Touring: 2005 Road Glide FLTRI

02/26/07
• Overall Satisfaction:
The Road Glide handles better than would be expected of a large bagger in tight and/or slower speed circumstances.
The fixed fairing really helps the bike hold it's own in head winds or traffic buffetting. The cruise control and air suspension contribute to a a fabulously comfortable long distance touring manner in either solo or two-up configuration. While mo'power is always welcome, the injected TC88 is responsive and capable of doing what needs done to motivate this substantial machine.
The stock layout of saddle, tank & bars give just a bit of added room (compared to Electra/Ultra) that feeels just right for my 6'2" frame.
This is an extremely comfortable long-range tourer, that performs just as well in the mountains & canyons as out on the wide open road.

2003 Harley-Davidson Touring: 2003 Harley Davidson FireFighter Special Edition

08/04/08(updated 08/04/08)
• Overall Satisfaction:
I'm a Fireman from Ohio. I bought this bike from Seller named "tiggerr074" (actually named Dave) located in Windber, Pennsylvania. Spoke to him twice, asking questions about the bike. Specifically, asked if the bike had ever been wrecked or laid down. He told me "no" and "never" each time he was asked. Based on his word, and pictures provided, I bought the bike. I drove to PA from Ohio to pick it up. Not being a mechanic or bodyman, I took it to the closest Harley shop after picking it up where, after a couple hours, was asked if I knew the bike had been wrecked. I didn't. They brought me in and showed me several places where it was obvious (to them) that the bike was wrecked. I went back to "tiggero74" and the building (a bodyshop/mechanic garage) was closed up and no one was there. I returned to Ohio with the bike and got it into another Harley shop as soon as I could to get a second opinion. The word was the same. Wrecked and/or salvaged. Specifically, aside from obvious damaged signs, there was still fresh paint found in a couple locations. The entire bike had been repainted, "poorly" according to Harley. I filed a complaint with eBay within the 30 days from taking delivery of the bike ... and was basically told there was nothing they could do. The seller has since sold a couple other vehicles painted with the same color paint used on my bike, and eBay appears to be doing nothing to prevent him from ripping off others. So, MY experience using eBay to make a major purchase? Totally negative. If eBay was able to receive Feedback for the job they did in protecting me (and others) in making major purchases it would obviously be NEGATIVE, and would read as follows: "BUYER BEWARE-WARNING. eBay says they'll protect you in major purchases, but once they collect their fees, don't fool yourself...YOU'RE ON YOUR OWN!"

2003 Harley-Davidson Touring: 2003 Harley Davison CVO Roadking

01/24/13
• Overall Satisfaction:
• Performance:
• Comfort:
• Quality and Craftsmanship:
This was the first CVO Roadking. The 103 engine in it is overbored over the 88, rather than overstroked to 103, as now. It pulls very strongly, much better than a current 103. Also has less 'EPAing.' This model has an oil cooler, and a hydraulic clutch, and Rineharts( which I think make the best true Harley burble sounds.). The factory seat was not comfortable, but this one has a Mustang/ very comfortable. The bars are better than the stock ones on my other 100th anniversary roadking(which I replaced with Heritage bars).
At about 18,000 miles, this one needed new tires, front brake pads, battery (all had been done.) There is some minor chrome corrosion and peeling, as expected on a Florida bike, but the paint has held up excellently.

2006 Harley-Davidson Touring: Great Bike, Great Seller

01/09/13
• Overall Satisfaction:

Excellent transaction and seller. The bike belonged to a retired VA State Trooper and was in better than new condition.
Low miles, all the extra chrome, stage one kit, recent service. Nothing wrong with the condition of the bike.
I love riding it. The only disapointment is finding out that
there is a design flaw in the twin cam 88 engine line. The
cam chain tensioners wear out, have to be inspected, and replaced. Inspection is 2 hours labor, gasket. Harley's fix is $800.00-$1000. If you keep the bike long enouph this repair has to be made. May buy the extended service plan which will cover this part of the engine for 5 years.

2006 Harley-Davidson Touring: Awesome bike!

This is a great bike! It's January here and snow is on the ground so it's just sitting in my heated garage waiting for warmer weather. It makes me smile every time I go out there and look at it. I only got to ride it about 70 miles before the snow hit but that was an awesome 70 miles! I can't wait for spring.

turns out there was engine work, and brake work needed...not such a good deal..lesson learned - check what you buy carefully, give yourself enough time to inspect carefully..buyer beware is a golden rule to ebay purchases
