1999 Honda Valkyrie: Valkyrie Review

04/06/07
• Overall Satisfaction:
I previously owned a Valkyrie and sold it. Then bought a Harley Ultra classic.
I rode the Harley for about a year. I decided to go back and purchase another Valkyrie Interstate because: (1) With 92 base horsepower, The Valkyrie is more powerful and has more torque (2) My wife and I ride double. The Valkyrie is comfortable and the radio and CB is as good if not better than the Harley system. (3)Everybody know what a Harley is. When we ride and stop with the interstate, people really look at the Valkyrie Interstate. The custom paint is beautiful. There is alot more chrome. Also the vents on the fairing can be opened or closed. This is great for changes in the climate and weather. The 2007 Harley Ultra Classic finally has vents that open and Close. Honda
has been doing this for at least eight years. (4 I just like the demeanor and atmosphere of riding the Honda- -I ride, have fun, meet great people, and do not have to act like a bad boy whatabee! (5) Finally, this six cylinder Honda engine is good for 80,000 to 100,000 miles and parts are available through a Honda dealer in every major city.

2004 Honda Valkyrie: 2004 Honda Valkyrie

09/14/07
• Overall Satisfaction:
I like love this Honda Valkyrie because it's a fast comfortable very stylish type of bike. Easy to handle and the balance on this bike is perfect for men or women. Best bike on the road in my opinion. I decided to buy this bike because I had one in 2004 / 2005 and although I loved the bike I had to part with it because of personal reasons. I vowed I would own another one. It took me 2 yrs to find one and I now own another one. I will NOT be without this bike ever again. It's my favorite bike to own.

2000 Honda Valkyrie: 40K plus miles

I have owned a lot of bikes owning 10+ Honda 750's and a couple of Kawasaki's I purchased a 1976 gold wing in 1978 Rode it everywhere in the western USA. I still remember the day I sold it. Very sad day. Well as some riders I gave up riding for awhile. I rode a VFR and a FJR for a while, Then the Valkyrie came along It caught my eye. What a bike. I bought a 2000 with 30K miles Well that tells me it is fun to ride. I have over 16K miles on it now and my only complaint is it needs bigger brakes. Its a big bike. Honda should be on top of their game. After all, Honda had the first disc brake on a 1969 CB. Its seems Honda was thrown into the cruiser scene without upgrading the brakes. If any bike bike needed 2 piston calibers the Valk would be it. the brakes are good but not great. very nice ride

2000 Honda Valkyrie: Valkyrie Motorcycle

This bike is a joy to ride, plenty of power, and extremely low road and machine vibration. It is quite heavy and requires constant vigilance when navigating tight quarters. I prefer a machine with foot controls a little further forward and find that the Valkyrie strains my 69 year old knees. That said, I'd still recommend it to anyone with the physical strength to handle a real heavy bike. Those six cyclinders sure are nice when you roll the throttle to execute a maneuver on the interstate.

1997 Honda Valkyrie: The Power of 6!

The Honda Valkyrie is the best bike I have ever owned. It is a big gal, and probably not a beginner's ride. The flat 6 possesses smooth, almost unlimited raw power. That said, the Dragon has a sweet spot, and once that center of gravity is found it winds through the twists with agility and ease. Equally suited to trolling the boulevard, cornering your favorite roads, burning rubber and comfort touring, the Honda Valkyrie is THE bike. The power of 6!

1999 Honda Valkyrie: Honda Valkyrie

As far back as the 1970's, I wanted a Goldwing. But my friends always said they were "old guy" motorcycles, so I decided to wait until I became an old(er) guy to get one. I continued riding cruisers and loving them. Over the years, I have owned two Goldwings and loved them both. Great and terrific bikes they are for sure!!!

I don't think I became aware of the Valkyrie until I became a Goldwing owner and started seeing a few at rallies. I had become so accustomed to seeing v-twins on cruisers that I could not get over that big, opposing six engine mounted on a cruiser. It was one of the most unusual things I had seen on a production scoot (until the Boss Hoss came on the scene anyway). It was not until recently that I had the opportunity to get my hands on a Valkyrie. Wow!

This motorcycle has the reliability of a Goldwing, but it handles like a much smaller and sleeker machine. It is absolutely the best of both worlds ... the luxury touring machine that only a Goldwing could be and a powerful, nimble cruiser.

The big difference between the Valkyrie and the Goldwing seems to be in the weight, of course. The Valkyrie is noticably lighter. It has six smaller carburetors instead of the two carbs that come with the Goldwing. In addition, the driveshaft is a different too. The combination of these three changes makes the Valkyrie considerably much "peppier" than any Goldwing I had ever ridden, and the Goldwing is certainly no slouch on the road!

My only regrets are that Honda quit making this amazing motorcycle about 2003. The Valkyrie is a real "head turner," and it won't leave you on the side of the road. I really love my Valk and I'm looking forward to many miles and years ahead for the two of us!!!

First and foremost is dependability. The valkyrie is a hoss and takes normal maintenance to keep it that way. I like the lines, power, and how it wraps the passenger in what seems like their own little space. Plenty of accessaries are available as well. why would you want anything less than the best?

2003 Honda Valkyrie: Valkyrie tike with Roadmaster trike kit

06/18/11
• Overall Satisfaction:
• Performance:
• Reliability:
• Comfort:
• Quality and Craftsmanship:
The Valkyrie has it's own well established history for being a fantastic machine with power and smoothness uneaqualed in the cruiser class. Putting the Roadmaster trike kit on it makes the Valkyrie an awesome ride. The independent suspension makes the ride very comfortaable and unlike straight axle trikes, it takes the bumps with ease and doesn't shake you to pieces.
The combination of the Valkyrie and the Roadmaster trike kit give you all that you'll every want or need in a trike.
