What it's Worth - Price Range Information
Just Sold on eBay Motors
The Just Sold on eBay Motors price range represents the lowest and highest completed sale price for this vehicle on eBay Motors within the last 90 days.
Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value Range
The Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value is representative of dealers' asking prices and is the starting point for negotiation between a consumer and a dealer. This Suggested Retail Value assumes that the vehicle has been fully reconditioned and has a clean title history. This value also takes into account the dealers' profit, costs for advertising, sales commissions and other costs of doing business. The range represents asking prices that typically occur for the vehicle model throughout the United States, not all vehicles sell for the exact same price, which is why the company also offers a value range. By showing both the low and high ends of the range the company can better reflect whether a given vehicle's asking price varies widely or hardly at all. The final sale price will likely be less depending on the vehicle's actual condition, popularity, type of warranty offered and local market conditions. This range includes pricing for used vehicles, not new or late model vehicles.

2003 Harley-Davidson Dyna / FXR: 2003 Harley Davidson FXDL (Low Rider),FXD Superglide

• Overall Satisfaction:
My bike is a 2003 Lowrider and my wife has a 2003 Superglide, both are Dyna Glide. They have stump pulling torque. pulling hard at 1000rpm with power dropping off at about 5000rpm. Then I added headers, a good air filter and rejetted all in about 3 hours and the power was even better. I then installed 95 cubic inch pistons and cylinders along with a performance ignition system myself over a weekend and the power increased on the bottom end and instead of dropping off at 5000rpm it keeps on pulling hard to 6500rpm. All of the above upgrade parts cost me less than $800.00 for both bikes. Most parts were purchased on Ebay. With patience very good deals can be had.

I only have 26,000 miles on my Lowrider but I ride the bike very hard. The Superglide has around 20,000 miles. We made several long trips riding at 80 to 100 mph all day long. In town travel is what we usually see's and mine is riden, as my wife puts it "like my ass is on fire" most of the time. She on the other hand rides much easier unless we are on the highway. Highway or city the tachometer needle meets the redline regularly. The point is, by any standard this bike is flogged and abused on a regular basis, but it has never let me down. Not one component failure or broken/worn out parts. I have gone through several sets of tires though and one set of brake pads.

Both have had synthetic oil in them since break-in and they are always garaged. They both had identical upgrades and we have had zero failures with both bikes. This is my 7th motorcycle the last 4 were all Harley big twins (2 Shovel heads and these two Twin-cam 88 Dynas. After all engine modifications, with or without a windshield the gas milage is 30-35mpg in town and 40-50mpg Highway. Neither uses or leaks a drop of oil.

Now the cons.
First I do not like the middle foot pegs, they are too soft.
The transmission should have a taller gear set. I would like to see the first 4 gears a little taller so that 5th gear would be an overdrive. Many people have converted to 6 speed transmissions but with this much torque, why add an extra gear, there is enough shifting to do already.

The heads are a good but a bit restrictive. There are many replacement heads of good design but are expensive. It's too bad the Harley factory doesn't just open up the stock Twin-Cam head when it is cast.

The kick stand is kind of hard to get to.

Ground clearence is too low due to the factory moving the oil reservoir to underneath the transmission. I had to learn to be very careful about driving off of curbs. One can still corner hard with only slight scraping of the passenger peg bracket on the left and the after market turn-out mufflers on the right. I didn't have that problem with the old Shovel head lowrider.

To sum it up we love our motorcycles and would buy them again. I can carry a passenger without slowing the bike down a bit. It has enough power and brakes to have fun in the twisties and has a smooth ride to make long trips comfortable. There are hundreds of seats, handlebars, tanks, fenders and engine performance parts available for customization or speed at lower prices than the metric cruisers. Last of all it looks good, thats why all of Harley's competition are copying the Harley Davidson.

PS: Resale value can't be beat by any Metric. My bike is 3 years old and the blue book is almost what I paid for it new.

Wish they still made this model its the best harley made Buel designed frame strong as an OX well handling very dependable. Fast for a harley too. 5 models in ther line up of the FXR. Harley simply stopped production because there was a loss in profit due to the time spent building it and tooling was impossible. These were hand built bikes not made by automated machines. It was replaced by the dyna glide model and has not filled its shoes since TOO bad harley got cheap and joined the crowd ..... sincerely biker jj79

The Dyna is a great motorcycle, it is powerful, fast and smooth riding. I think it is a great size for an average to tall man and a solid quality built machine (pipes sound great too). I use it for short trips and commuting to and from work, it is the best bike I have own to date....I would highly recommend!

2005 Harley-Davidson Dyna / FXR: One of Harleys best Motorcycles no longer made

Well I like a less bulky bike that still has the power. With the 95 inch engine upgrade and 203 cams she is a runner and can keep up. Also the fully adjustable front and rear suspension is a great ride stock but also with the right lowering kit you can maintain almost stock ride and weight limits, yet give it a low lean look. I have owned enough bikes to tell the difference and this bike just has it all, size, power, comfort, dependability, style.

I decided to buy this model bike and found a good selection on ebay. This bike was such a great deal because it was one owner,he had already spent thousands on the engine, wheels, tires, and all the detachable touring stuff plus 3 seats including a nice solo. I had also known for a long time that this was one of harleys best bikes ever.

Always wanted a Harley and am extremely pleased with this purchase. I bought it as a second chance offer and believe it was a good buy. The motorcycle has been running flawlessly. Bought with a low 2,800 miles and have put on 2,100 since I purchased it in September (nearly matching the original owners miles since new!) Could have saved lots of money by purchasing a foreign made bike, however there just is nothing like a Harley and the friends you meet and develop after you own one. I am also pleased that I took the advice of many friends and steered clear of a used Sportster model. They all told me I would soon after want a bigger one, thus I'm glad I went with the Dyna. I believe a well kept Harley retains it's value better that other makes.

This bike was built by Harley Davidson motor company. The quality speaks for itself. This motorcycle holds its value even though it is 5 years old. Over the years I have owned Harleys starting with a 1948 panhead, then to a slab side shovel head, then to an evo motor. THis is without a doubt the best of all the Harleys I have owned.

GOT A GREAT BUY ON EBAY. A HARLEY IS A DREAM COME TRUE, OF COURSE. I ALSO RIDE A LARGE YAMAHA AND A TRIUMPH BUT NOTHING COMPARES TO A HARLEY. MY BEING 61 YEARS YOUNG NOW AND WITH SO MANY WONDERFUL EBAY BARGAINS AVAILABLE ESPECIALLY ON OLDER RIDER/DRIVER GRADE BIKES (DEFINITELY NOT SHOW QUALTY, BUT GO PUTT-PUTT ALL THE SAME) I HAVE MANAGED TO PUT A STABLE OF 3 BIKES TOGETHER. A MINOR LUXURY I REFUSE TO FEEL GUILTY ABOUT AS I AM SURE AT MY SOMEDAY (NO HURRY) FUTURE ESTATE SALE, MY WIFE WILL BENEFIT! MY FIRST HARLEY IN 1961 WHEN I WAS 13 YEARS OLD, WAS A LITTLE USED 125cc HARLEY HUMMER I THINK IT WAS. SO OF COURSE MY CURRENT USED HARLEY WITH 80 CUBIC INCH (1340cc)EVO BLOCKHEAD MOTOR IS LIKE A SCIENCE FICTION FUTURISTIC DREAM COME TRUE !!!

Great machine, and beautiful. It's hard to start when hot, and a bit squirley when hit with the wind blast of a truck, but a hell of a lot of fun to ride..... the fun factor rules here.

this bike was not a harely, and it was listed as a harley. also we may have been scammed, we bid, up to 9000, and the bid prior to mine was 5600, and we were then charged 9000, our max bid, how does this happen, I think the person fixed it. he also sent me an email saying "you sound like your trying to be an ignorant flake so you will be reported to ebay as a deadbeat bidder. bit of advice, ask questions before you bid so as not to look like an idiot as you do." not very nice, when he lsited his non harley as a harley.
