What it's Worth - Price Range Information
Just Sold on eBay Motors
The Just Sold on eBay Motors price range represents the lowest and highest completed sale price for this vehicle on eBay Motors within the last 90 days.
Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value Range
The Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value Range is representative of dealers' asking prices and is the starting point for negotiation between a consumer and a dealer. This Suggested Retail Value Range assumes that the vehicle has been fully reconditioned and has a clean title history. This value also takes into account the dealers' profit, costs for advertising, sales commissions and other costs of doing business. The range represents asking prices that typically occur for the vehicle model throughout the United States, not all vehicles sell for the exact same price, which is why the company also offers a value range. By showing both the low and high ends of the range the company can better reflect whether a given vehicle's asking price varies widely or hardly at all. The final sale price will likely be less depending on the vehicle's actual condition, popularity, type of warranty offered and local market conditions. This range includes pricing for used vehicles, not new or late model vehicles.

I have owned every model of Range Rover since its debut in 1987, and the 2003 new model is the best of the lot by far. The 2003 has the BMW engine & runs circles around all previous models. Quick off the line and will cruise as fast as you like and feel like a million dollars. You definitely have the impression of BMW styling and craftsmanship in the interior like their flagship 740 series, from the instruments, dash and seating. The heated seats are great. Off-road, you still can't beat it. For the few who have never been off road in a Range Rover, you are missing a great experience. It will do much more than you will have the courage to try. I usually trade my Range Rovers every two years, but have had this one for five, I just can't give it up. The only problems I have had were very minor, like the cubby box chrome handle falling off, but Land Rover replaced the whole lid without a question. No engine or drive train problems. If you are wanting to get into a Range Rover but don't want to spend the big bucks, this is the one you should start with. Certified models are of course, preferable. The Land Rover extended warranty is very good if you can get it.

2006 Land Rover Range Rover: 2006 & 2007 Land Rover Range Rovers

I have owned 3 Range Rovers. A 2005 (4.2 liter BMW engine) One 2006 (Supercharged/Full Size) and one 2007 (supercharged/full size) The cars are great but the new 4.2 liter Jaguar engines do have some problems especially the supercharger. My air intake has messed up on both the 2006 and 2007, The light has come on and the vehicles have been serviced more than 4 times. The rear tail lights have also filled up with water during the winter and needed replacing. Remember this is a Ford product. The 2005 models were flawless especially the BMW engine, No problems at all. This vehicle is great but has a terrible re-sale value. The 2007-up Range Rover models are much more "American" than european. The "supercharged" emblem on the rear of the vehicle is the same emblem as put on the Lincoln Navigators that says "Limited". The cup holders are much bigger and standard looking that can hold a "Big-Gulp" cup and are not as advanced and as sleak looking as the 2006 and younger models. The key ignition was moved from from the bottom near the drive shifter like most european cars and moved up to the standard American placement by the steering wheel. The knobs that control the heating/AC are much more plastic and cheaper looking than the 2006 models which were rubberized and nice looking. The head rests look like the Range Rover Sport which by the way is based off a Ford Explorer frame. I have to admit Ford Motor Company really put there ideas into this vehicle instead of keeping it very european like BMW did back in 2003 when they owned Range Rover before selling it to Ford in 2005. Although this vehicle is very nice and I like mine it is not perfect. The new full size Range Rover is expected towards the end of 2009.

2006 Land Rover Range Rover: Great truck: get one under warrantee if possible

I love the truck, how it looks and how it performs is quite remarkable. Great vehicle on road and off -- very quiet at highway speeds and great road feel at highway speeds.

The software and sensors that control the air suspension have issues so it is important to have a warantee -- though the 2006 in particular seems to have had some of the early bugs worked out.

Gas mileage is not that bad (@16-18 miles per gallon).

I love the fact that it is a Range Rover, but the seller did not disclose some of it's issues. It has a broken wiper control, suspension buttons do not adjust, cruise control does not work, dent on left side, paint oxidation, headliner falling, missing badges, no floor mats, etc. The truck is nice otherwise. It is truly a luxury SUV with all the amenities. I decided to buy it after my wife told me to pay attention to the styling. They never look old. I agree with her, and believe it is by far the prettiest SUV made.

2008 Land Rover Range Rover: Range Rover has been sold to TATA Motors Ltd. of India

As you may or may not know the Ford Motor Company has sold Land Rover and Jaguar to TATA Motors Ltd. in India. Yes Range Rover will be owned now by a company in India. The future of Range Rover is grim. As of now the Range Rover will stay the same until 2011 when the new technology from this Indian company is announced. BMW sold Land Rover to Ford in 2003 for around 8 billion dollars. Now Ford is selling off the brand packaged with Jaguar to TATA Motors. BMW refused to buy back Land Rover from Ford. Many people are very upset and worried the luxury and class will be cheapened and diminished. Poor sales of Jaguar and Land Rover lead to the selling of the 2 companies. Remember this new company is about to launch a $2,500 vehicle for sale here in the United States. Well wait and see what they do to Range Rover.

1999 Land Rover Range Rover: 1999 Range Rover HSE 4.6

This is a 1999 Range Rover HSE 4.6 with 130,000 miles on it. There are several hard rules I employ in buying major items on eBay: to have lots of time because there is a lot of junk out there, to know pretty much exactly what you want and where you can compromise, non smoker, and to set limits on how far away the item is. Any car must be seen/driven in person as pictures and testimonials only go so far. If anything seems wrong I walk away. Its time consuming, but will save you thousands.

After searching for about 6 months I found exactly what I was looking for, except the color was not first choice. These cars are truly amazing vehicles if they are maintained properly; they are a nightmare if not. So I restricted myself to one owner and a vehicle that had service records available, the carfax check is worth doing as well (good for accident records). The car was exactly as the dealer claimed, but I relied on my examination of the car and the service records. I looked at over 10 cars in 6 months and no matter how they looked in pictures it is amazing how different they are in person. Besides getting a great price (no reserve auction, ending late at night) the car is near perfect. These cars have some well known issues you need to watch out for: there is a lot of sophisticated electronics that monitor the car that tend to fail and the variable height suspension that is expensive to fix, but when working its really nice. The real problem is the extreme cost of dealer maintenance; it’s really a rip off. So also try to find a good local garage that can do the smaller items and basic lubrication, and reserve the Land Rover rip off for the major problems. But you need to be prepared to pay for it. A well running car will get 17.5 MPG on the highway, and 12 around town. They are a little behind the times on cup holders and electrical plug-ins, but the fit and finish of the interior is just wonderful.

Deals are out there but it’s up to you to spend the time to do it right.

I dislike the fact that there are so few dealers. If you live in a remote area, as I do, it is difficult to get the car serviced and repaired.

2006 Land Rover Range Rover: BUYING ONLINE FROM HOFFMAN ESTATES LAND ROVER IS SMART!

BUYING A RANGE ROVER S AT HOFFMAN ESTATES LAND ROVER. Take this review from a person that always does his homework on everything I purchase online or off. Purchasing a high ticket items such as a car from eBay or a website can be a nervous and scary experience since you are not physically able to hold and feel the item you want to purchase.
Reputation: Instead you must rely on a seller you have never met and their reputation as a qualified eBay Motors Seller. If a disparaging remark is ever left for a seller from a past transaction it’s most important to see how the situation was handled and who in the transaction was ultimately satisfied. A good seller will always put their customer and their needs First within reason of the transaction details.
Item description details without the small print or surprises: At Hoffman Estates Land Rover I received more than just a great deal on a great car. I received the most attentive and professional customer service ever encountered while buying a car from any dealership. They knew I was nervous buying a car from another state and from a total stranger to boot. They held my hand and answered all of my seemingly dumb questions throughout the entire process. I’m driving this car without regret knowing that it was worth all of the tedious homework put into getting it.
My Personal Strategy:
Quadruple check the details in the item description and don’t be in a hurry to click the Buy Now Button.
Check their reputation with the Better Business Bureau and note the number of employees. How many issues are there and how were they handled.
Check the Board of Equalization in their State to see if their sales tax responsibilities are current.
And finally get a good transport broker to haul your car safely. That’s a whole other issue that also requires a bunch of homework. I used Eric at 1st Call Auto Haul and it was just as flawless as the deal was with Hoffman Estates Land Rover.
I hope my personal experiences of buying my Range Rover online for the first time will help someone out there get the car of their dreams and help Hoffman Estates Land Rover the safest place to purchase a car online, “They deserve it!“
Thank you for taking care of me.

Only someone who knows what they are truly buying should ever invest their money into a P38 model. These vehicles do exatly what they were meant todo and then some. The problem with most Rover owners is that their first experice of owning a vehicle of this caliber is when purchased USED. They purchase a used Rover because it wasn't in their price range to begin with and now the opportuntity arises and they get to experience the vehicle of a life time but on the back side of the vehicles glory days. The average unhappy ROVER owner buys a 7 to 8 year old vehicle and experiences the problems because a lack of upkeep and age. I grant you the old alum. block buick motor can give you a fit when acting up or the discomfort of the air suspension if it should go out because of a lack of service, but all in all this is a fantastic vehicle onroad and off. As a 4 time purchaser of BRAND new Ranger Rovers and the happy owner of a 2008. I loved my vehicle and I know my son loves my old 2000 even more than I did! Don't be fooled yo u never get the same experience out of a used older vehicle as when you purchase it new and in complete working order. Just remember when you purchase a 7 or 8 year old vehicle its gonna have its quirks!
