What it's Worth - Price Range Information
Just Sold on eBay Motors
The Just Sold on eBay Motors price range represents the lowest and highest completed sale price for this vehicle on eBay Motors within the last 90 days.
Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value Range
The Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value Range is representative of dealers' asking prices and is the starting point for negotiation between a consumer and a dealer. This Suggested Retail Value Range assumes that the vehicle has been fully reconditioned and has a clean title history. This value also takes into account the dealers' profit, costs for advertising, sales commissions and other costs of doing business. The range represents asking prices that typically occur for the vehicle model throughout the United States, not all vehicles sell for the exact same price, which is why the company also offers a value range. By showing both the low and high ends of the range the company can better reflect whether a given vehicle's asking price varies widely or hardly at all. The final sale price will likely be less depending on the vehicle's actual condition, popularity, type of warranty offered and local market conditions. This range includes pricing for used vehicles, not new or late model vehicles.

2001 Saturn L-Series: My Purchase on E-bay Motors

This is my third purchase on e-bay motors! All three have been exceptional. the most current purchase was a 2001 Saturn and it is wondeful. We were looking for a clean, low mile, one owner, not smoked in car and we found it on e-bay. We had looked at all of the used car lots in our town and surrounding towns, nothing was exactly what we were looking for. We looked on e-bay and there it was, and I might add our winning bid was below market value, a really good buy. My 84 year old Mother drives every day and loves it.
We purchased in only a few minutes, from the comfort of our own home, and got a really good deal.

We have an older full size Ford 4x4 truck which is only used for dump and Home Depot runs. The gas mileage is terrible and we decided to look for a six cylinder wagon that could haul a utility trailer if needed. My son will get his license soon and this vehicle was a good compromise.
This was our fifth car from Ebay. All Saturns. We have great luck with the cars. They are easy and generally inexpensive to repair. I was a mechanic years ago and am still able to work on them.
This is the first "upscale" Saturn we have owned as well as the first automatic. Frankly, it's sort of ugly. It is very comfortable, great in the snow and can get 31 mpg on the highway. We can put quite a bit of stuff in the back and it's low enough that mounting our kayaks on the roof takes little effort. Lots of room for the dog too.
We bought the car because the price was fantastic and it needed very little work. We used the Autocheck option for vehicle history and Kelly Blue Book as a reference for pricing. KBB and Edmunds have user reviews, specifications and recall history available.
The only real complaint is the procedure for changing the spark plugs. Not something for a novice and expensive if brought to a shop. Thankfully, I can do this myself.
All in all, the LW 300 is a decent, reliable but "vanilla" vehicle. We purchased the car with a little over 67,000 miles and expect it to go another 67,000.

saturns are very nice in a lot of areas, such as the plastic side panels, gas milage, and size,i have owned four of them, and a relative works at the dealership,so there are many nice points, trust me,but every single one i have owned has had a bad engine varround 130 to 135 k miles,it is usually a rod bearing that goes,it only seems to happen to 1996 thru 2001,i suspect that the crankshaft supplier for them years was other than their original supplier or something, because the steel is not of the same quality as with the older ones,or the 2002 and newer models, they have corrected the problem in the newer saturns, but be extremely cautious, basically plan on replacing the engine if it hasnt already been replaced.three of my saturns were 2001,they seem to be especially bad but that is probably because that is the last year they seem to have used the cheap crankshaft metal in them.hopefully this has heen helpful,i was aware of the problem, and not really suprised when my engine went out,but others might not be as well informed, just consider that when deciding on a newer or older saturn, depending on how old,or how new,it will make a big diffirence, thank you.

The car was a great buy and that fact that the person was honest and accepted the price that I offered was what made it so great. The car was in great shape inside and out better than advertised. I decided this type of car because of the price not really knowing anything about Saturns. I needed a gas saver and this does help me out a lot. Would like to rate this better but it is not a new car, so this is the best for used cars.

I FELL IN LOVE with the front of this car on the showroom floor. I was in for a routine service for my 2001 SC2 Saturn when I saw the elegant style and unique look of this car. The sticker price was pheonominally low for the amount of features included with this car as standard. As I had a fuel efficient 4 cylinder, 1.9 liter sports coupe, I was surprised that a 4 door sedan with automatic tranny, with a 4 cylinder 2.2 liter would get about the same! The test drive sold me. Quick off the line response, actually as good or better than my 5 speed. Power there for you at top speeds, for freeway passing, jack rabbiting, etc. And comfortable, my sports coupe was growing smaller as my child grew larger. The 4 door sedan had room, tons of room, front and back. I didn't want to lose the split seat design or the trunk space that my SC2 had. Well, the L-200 not only had the split seat design, including a cup holder builtin for my kid, the trunk was ultimately Larger! You would not believe what I have hauled in the trunk of this luxurious sedan. Items ranging from a rocker/recliner (did bottom half in trunk, top half in rear passenger), kitchen base cabinet, even my lawn mower! I've packed enough camping gear, tent, cooking stuff, food, coolers, etc. for us for 4-5 day trips. It's great to vacation with enough room to carry your luggage INSIDE of your car! Performance, will it handle like my sports coupe? The test was an 8 mile stretch near Santa Cruz called "Hecker Pass". Hairpins, curves, up and down. This 4 door sedan, with automatic tranny surprised me with it's quick response and road hugging capability. I my opinion, having traveled this stretch of mountain road many times in many different vehicles, I can say the L-200 takes it the best and actually out manuvered my sports coupe. I could not U turn in a neighborhood street with my SC2, always had to Y turn. The wheel base on the L-200 allows a U turn on the same street. For Comfort, there is nothing more appealing than a warm toasty leather seat, for "your seat", on a cold winter morning. Reliable quick startup and quick warm up is a must in my book, and this car has it. Quality safety features like the daytime running lights, oncoming traffic always knows that you're there, and if you set it for automatic, you don't have to worry about when to turn your lights on or if you turned them off when you got out of the car! I chose the Premium sound stereo with it's 8 (EIGHT) speakers and 6 CD changer. While you can deafen yourself inside your ride as you cruise with your tunes, the entire neighborhood and the world outside does not have to know it! Crisp sound with your choice of sound format. Custom technology for this american made car. My hat's off to Saturn, they are a 5 star company, to me anyway, and 5 stars to the 2003 L-200. My favorite car, so far! More people should know about Saturns!
