What it's Worth - Price Range Information
Just Sold on eBay Motors
The Just Sold on eBay Motors price range represents the lowest and highest completed sale price for this vehicle on eBay Motors within the last 90 days.
Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value Range
The Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value Range is representative of dealers' asking prices and is the starting point for negotiation between a consumer and a dealer. This Suggested Retail Value Range assumes that the vehicle has been fully reconditioned and has a clean title history. This value also takes into account the dealers' profit, costs for advertising, sales commissions and other costs of doing business. The range represents asking prices that typically occur for the vehicle model throughout the United States, not all vehicles sell for the exact same price, which is why the company also offers a value range. By showing both the low and high ends of the range the company can better reflect whether a given vehicle's asking price varies widely or hardly at all. The final sale price will likely be less depending on the vehicle's actual condition, popularity, type of warranty offered and local market conditions. This range includes pricing for used vehicles, not new or late model vehicles.

Perhaps whe should review ebays handling of this also, nevermind the scale does not go that low I see. Paid for an Item (deposit) which I never recieved being the high bidder on a no reserve auction. Complained to ebay and paypal, never got an ounce of help from either of you. THEN DESPITE ME BEING RIPPED OFF YOU ALLOWED THE SELLER TO RELIST THE ITEM I HAD WON!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great job ebay way to keep it fair and clean. Future items I wish to purchase will NOT BE DONE WITH EBAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is also the point where I would like to tell you thanks FOR NOTHING which is exactly what I got, except for $450.00 in additional charges to recover my money. TERRRIBLE SERVICE BY EBAY AND PAYPAL, please allow me to voice it again with the attorney general in my state and the state of GEORGIA!!

1971 Oldsmobile 442: A good collectable car at a reasonable price

I have always liked these cars when i was a teenager and never had one, just rode in a buddy's. Now being an adult (30's) i could afford getting this one at a affordable price with very little needed to bring it to show car qaulity. It needed minor things when i got it, but that comes with the age of the car. I wasn't to excited about the motor because it is a race engine and i was looking for original stock engine qualities, but that will be changed in the future. I love the potential that it has and how clean (no rust issues) it was, inside and out. I look forward to enjoying this car every nice day we get here in wis. and to meet many new people in various car collectable shows and clubs.

First let me say; GEEZE PEOPLE! This is supposed to be a review of the CAR! Not the sleaze bag that sold you a junker! If you don't have any honest experience with a real, correct, and running 442, please don't write a bunch of smack about a bad seller while undermining a "VERY" good car with your lousy ratings! Allow me to further state that a real 442 was only made from 64 through around 72. I'm not including 442's with Chevy engines either. :-/
I have had at least four of these incredible machines, with my two favorites being a 67 with a 455 transplant & 4 speed trans. "GREAT" car!
The other of my favorites is the one in the title, a 1970 442 W30, complete with all the correct "W" parts & 4 speed.
Oldsmobile wrote the book on muscle with elegance and comfort.
Performance? How does 500 ft lbs of torque with an underrated 370 HP through a 4 spd trans grab Ya? (It's a well known fact amongst Olds enthusiasts that the HP ratings were taken from a lower than optimum RPM, so they could slip these bad boys by the insurance companies.)
Both my 67 and 70 Oldsmobile's have recorded times of mid 13 seconds through the traps on "street tires" on a quarter mile sprint.
Durability? They were also known as the car you could race the heck out of, then drive it to work all week afterwards without breaking stuff. (I'm referring to a stock set up here.)
Comfort? Those Astro buckets were made for comfort. Olds had a reputation for being comfortable anyway. ;-)

I was lied to on auction Info and from numerous emails and no one from ebay protection did anything at all. and it`s not right that the seller was able to get away with ripping me off.

I think the body on the car is decent. The dealer ship told me that I could drive it home from the lot. He lied there. We decided to have it delieved. We live 14 hours away and it would have been to long of a drive. So it was delievered to detroit from Mass. We got there it wouldn't stay running more than 4 seconds. It was a 2 hour drive to get it home from detroit. The guy who delievered it even said that the dealer just got it on the trailer and it stauled out and they didn't even bother to look at it. Finally a few days later we towed it home and we to it in to get fixed. So far we put on a new carborator, a new fuel pump, the antenna is broke. It might not sound like a big deal but the whole fender has to be taken off to change it. The possitive battery cable was melted all the way to the starter melting all the groundwires in the car. The car is still in for repairs. I have had it close to 2 months and still haven't been able to drive it. Who knows what else is wrong with it. The mechanic will let me know this week. Then when they sent me the paper work for my title I had a hell of a time getting the title. Also the paper saying how much I paid had all the fees and there in one big total. I had to pay tax and more than just the car.
