What it's Worth - Price Range Information
Just Sold on eBay Motors
The Just Sold on eBay Motors price range represents the lowest and highest completed sale price for this vehicle on eBay Motors within the last 90 days.
Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value Range
The Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value Range is representative of dealers' asking prices and is the starting point for negotiation between a consumer and a dealer. This Suggested Retail Value Range assumes that the vehicle has been fully reconditioned and has a clean title history. This value also takes into account the dealers' profit, costs for advertising, sales commissions and other costs of doing business. The range represents asking prices that typically occur for the vehicle model throughout the United States, not all vehicles sell for the exact same price, which is why the company also offers a value range. By showing both the low and high ends of the range the company can better reflect whether a given vehicle's asking price varies widely or hardly at all. The final sale price will likely be less depending on the vehicle's actual condition, popularity, type of warranty offered and local market conditions. This range includes pricing for used vehicles, not new or late model vehicles.

It is a nice car, but it had been wrecked and not put together very well. We payed to have the car shipped as the ad stated and it was drove over 1250 miles. He lied in his add and ebay would do nothing to help us.We did talk with the ebay auto insurance but since it was not over 5,00 miles they could do nothing and the seller would not reply to them. Tired of being burned on ebay and getting to the point where it is not worth the hassle to buy things that are not what they say they are.

I bought my 98 Altima 5 years ago with 40,000 miles on it and it now has 101,000 miles. This car has never once let me down! Every time i turn the key it starts right up. There are some small interior parts that have broken, but nothing that is noticeable. The only major repair i have had to have was the axles. This was only because the boots came loose and i didn't notice until it messed up my axles. The car still runs strong now but the engine shakes when you are waiting at a stoplight. I took it to a mechanic and found out that the only thing wrong is that the engine mount it going bad. Nissans are great cars and love to run and run.

If a Nissan fail will be of something really major , will do never have a problem of a loosen joint, or loosen nut or screww, real perfomance and if you drive them with low oil , it wont have major problems for example a V6 Ford.

1998 Nissan Altima: My experience so far with this vehicle

I was looking for an older model Altima that has 4 cylinder, provides good gas mileage, and looks good overall both inside and out for its age. The overall condition of the vehicle is fair, unlike the description provided by the seller. I picked it up and drove it back about 600 miles, and a trip that would take about 10 hours ended up taking about 14 hours, mostly because the vehicle vibrated terribly if it exceeded 60 mph. I eventually got the tires balanced and two of them replaced because they were deformed.
The car needed many repairs that took me by surprise. I had to replace the water pump. The bumpers (front & rear) were missing some of the screws, hence they were loose. The sunroof mechanism had a part broken, so an annoying rattling sound when the car is moving. The windshield was broken, so the seller paid to have this replaced. By the way I discovered the broken windshield when I arrived to pick up the car. The sun visors (both driver's and passenger's side) had to be replaced. The radio is missing some of the buttons, so they don't operate the radio. The radio power antenna mast was broken, so I had to replace the antenna. The hood wasn't locking tightly, so I had to purchase and replace the hood lock. The headliner was falling down n the rear (again, this was not disclosed in the description). There is rust on various parts of the body, but again this wasn't disclosed, even though I specifically inquired whether there was any rust, but I was told there was none. The Service engine light came on as soon as I reached home, and I had to pay over $200.00 to get that serviced. The security system goes off whenevetr I open the door from the driver's side door, using the one key that was provided. Hence I have to unlock the car from either the passenger side door or the trunk.
The car failed my State inspection because the horn didn't work. Appparently, the horn was willfully disconnected to silence the alarm problem I mentioned above, whenever the car is unlocked from the driver's side door.
Overall, the car is in average shape and I have spent over 50% of the value to get it operational. I am clearly not looking for a new car, and I realized that there are some repairs needed to restore a used car to my standard, but I am not confused with the difference between the truth and dishonesty, so I am not a satisfied buyer with this item. I normally do a thorough review of the item prior to buying it, and I do place some trust in the description provided on the item on eBay. I have bought many cars on eBay, and my experiences vary from very bad to good. This experience is rated as fair to possibly bad (depending on whether you believe that the seller really didn't know of some of the defects, as he maintained).
Anyway, I believe this will be the last time I will purchase a car on eBay. I would rather go to a local merchant and see and touch what I am buying before I purchase it. I was always excited about using the eBay forum to find good deals, especially on vehicles, but basically, some sellers made it very hard for me to trust the integrity and honesty of the description provided on an item. Therefore, I will no longer purchase an vehicles on eBay.

1997 Nissan Altima: Nissan Altima - first generation 93-97

This first generation Altima, aged as it is, gives an ideal combination of size (not too small, not too big/heavy), power, economy, reliability and design. I have two - a '94 and a '97 - and would buy another ('97) if the vehicle was in good condition for its age. 208k on the '94, 152k on the '97 and going strong. Not surprisingly I have had to replace numerous components on the '94 - things do wear out, but nothing major (engine/5 speed tranny have been dependable). Driving in the Adirondack mountains of upstate NY I get 25-30 mpg, on the highway 30-35.

i bought this vehicle for 7,000.00 dollars from motoren car salesmaen. i had to spent at least 1500.00 dollars more. it needed all four brake pads all four disks, wheel alignment, alternator, spent 254.00 dollars just to disconnect the left aftermarket alarm which was bad. then my mechanic found out that the steering part of the car was leaking which cost about 1000.00 dollars just for the part. come on now this is the worst car dealership i bought something from. Yes they were nice and all but man the car was really bad. it might said the the car was never in a accident but the 2 front wheels were bent.

2003 Nissan Altima: Description not accurate

The Seller stated in his description: …Overall this altima is in good shape. Then over the phone told me that he was the owner of a body shop and assured me that the car was in a wreck however he fixed it and now it is safe, ready to go anywhere. Even told me I could come to CA. and drive it back to Michigan. He Lied about this car. It is totaled... the car is Junk. (I had him on speakerphone so I could have someone witness our conversation).

When I received the car on Tuesday, April 29, I knew something was wrong right away. I took the car (Nissan Altman) to the Nissan dealer have it inspection. That day, He took a quick look at the steering column and told me the car was not safe. He scheduled a inspection two days later on May 1st.

After the inspection, he submitted to me a list a mile long I will be glad to fax it to you. Now I will quote the cover letter to you ... (This car needs to go to a body shop, has very bad body damage on it. Front sub frame is bent. Radiator support is bent. Front bumper is not even bolted onto car; Just bumper cover is on it. Rear Sub frame is bent, both rear knuckles are bent. Right front knuckle is bent. Both rear sway bars links are bent. Right front lower ball joint is very loose. Right front hub bearing is making lots of noise. Both front struts left is leaking and mounts with bearing while turning, make's a lot of noise. Metal oil cooler line is bent. Air bag light is missing. Steering wheel airbag is missing, just cover on it. Passenger is air cover is not the right cover and no air bag. Both front outer tie rods are loose. Rack and pinion is leaking. Rear sub frame is bent. The toe bars are bent. Passenger side high beam is out. Needs diag time for column being loose [more cost to repair check engine light that was on when I received it]. Horn is inop. Front slide plate is missing. A/C belt is cracked. . The total cost to fix car is $8327.00 + tax and also a body inspection needs to be done (more cost to repair) another diagnostic will need to be done after car is fixed to determine why the service car light is on). end quote.

The Nissan dealership told me at the time of this inspection, there were too many code they could not make a determination of what was needed to repair engine until phase 1 was completed. And at the end of the inspection sheet (not cover letter) It end with (and I quote) … VEHICLE IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. end quote.

As you can see the sellers description on eBay and the car dealer’s inspector or the same vehicle have given two different very different descriptions of this car. I have saved ALL e-mails, in one;

EBay has taken him off line as a seller due to the fact that he has given a false phone number and contact name. Kathy Ruiz is the contact name and when you call the phone number on sheet for seller they say they never heard of Kathy Ruiz. He did at one time own the body shop called ROCKETEER AUTO BODY SHOP located at 4433 Firestone Blvd South Gate,CA. 90280. He still uses the email via eBay and said he was still the owner of this business.

I am asking to recover the total cost which I have occured. $7602.00 for car, $228.00 (3% fee) he charged me for going through PayPal (both paid through Pay Pal) and $1015 shipping charge paid to Able Auto Transports via my Master Card. Total of $8845.00.
