What it's Worth - Price Range Information
Just Sold on eBay Motors
The Just Sold on eBay Motors price range represents the lowest and highest completed sale price for this vehicle on eBay Motors within the last 90 days.
Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value Range
The Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value Range is representative of dealers' asking prices and is the starting point for negotiation between a consumer and a dealer. This Suggested Retail Value Range assumes that the vehicle has been fully reconditioned and has a clean title history. This value also takes into account the dealers' profit, costs for advertising, sales commissions and other costs of doing business. The range represents asking prices that typically occur for the vehicle model throughout the United States, not all vehicles sell for the exact same price, which is why the company also offers a value range. By showing both the low and high ends of the range the company can better reflect whether a given vehicle's asking price varies widely or hardly at all. The final sale price will likely be less depending on the vehicle's actual condition, popularity, type of warranty offered and local market conditions. This range includes pricing for used vehicles, not new or late model vehicles.

1991 Nissan 300ZX: First review of the 1991 300zx yay

I bought a 91 manual 300zxTT on ebay for 5,400 -needed minor repairs
The 300zx twin turbo is a little less powerful and heavier than the Supra twin turbo. If you are not a Z lover like me an have an unbiased opinion I believe the 300 would still be a better choice. I mean the Supra is just such a great car that the demand makes it easily three times the price of a reasonably equal condition. The same may be said about the rx7 TT. If you really want a nineties 6cyl 3.0 twin turbo for cheap ty the 3000gt or Dodge Stealth. They are great cars and heavily underrated or just looked over by people who dont know what they are talking about.
The only problem I didn’t foresee with this car was the cost of the parts. Its true that you can get the chassis cheap nowadays, but when something needs replacing it costs a pretty penny. Most times you can pay a little more (or less in some cases) to get aftermarket parts. I wanted to keep mine completely stock so I paid for OEM parts which were about the same price as the aftermarket stuff, but for the catback exhaust system a new OEM unit was much more pricy than the off brand aftermarket and almost as expensive as the top brand stuff. I kinda regret not getting HKS or Blitz, it would do so much to a turbo car, but if I start buying aftermarket I wont be able to stop.
Just because this car has almost 20 less hp than the Supra doesn’t mean it can't perform. It has a 6cyl v style engine and 2 sets compared to the 4 seats of the Supra and the inline six, theoretically better for the twisties, especially after some aftermarket work. The car TT is only available in a 2 seat coupe while the N/A has a 2+2 option in America. Four seat twin turbos can be made from adding a twin turbo engine from a N/A 2+2(probably by purchasing an entire JDM VG30DETT front clip for Japan with low miles). 2+2 TT's were sold in Japan, where they call the 300zx a Fairlady Z. The manual TT has produces 300hp and 283ft/lbs torque and the N/A has 222hp The auto tt has slightly smaller turbos and the 95 and 96 TT's lost 20 hp due to emissions control. TTops are standard although there are a fey slicktop models out there which are lighter. These are rare though. In 93 Nissan introduced the convertible model which was also only offered nonturbo. The turbo model has perks like suspension that can be adjusted form the inside to sport or touring settings and Nissan's HICAS rear wheel steering system that automatically turns the rear wheels a slight bit when you are going 20-75mph depending on the how hard you yank the wheel(not on how far the wheels are turned). (I let my friend drive it and he thought that he was in a drift when he made made a fast uturn around an island, but it was the HICAS doing its thing. Professionals dont like this feel for the most part and if you are tuning your car it is unneccisary weight) I believe in 93 or 94 they converted HICAS to run by just an electric motor, reducing weight. Also the TT has slightly beefier drive axle, differential and staggered wheels(8.5 in the back 7.5 front)

2960 cc 6 cyl 24 valve VG30DE or VG30DETT
0-60 5.2 sec TT
1/4 mile 13.8 sec TT
5sp manual or 4 sp auto
2 seat or 2+2
much more

It has been one of my dream cars every since it came out. Things you should know about the 300ZX Fairlady Z W32
If they have set for awhile you may have valve noise when cold. If you are buying one make sure the car is cold when you crank it or you could be buying a valve job.
If your oil gauge works erratically or suddenly drops to zero don't panic.
A common problem in these is the oil sending unit goes bad that's a $100. fix
If the car won't idle down to 750 rpms the Automatic Air Sensor is probably stuck and will need cleaning or replacing. It can also be the Idle Air Sensor.
Almost all of these problems are cheap fixes but if you don't know ,you don't know.
If it has the Bose sound system the amps in the speaker enclosures are probably bad on any car of this age. Most of the time the amps can be fixed easily by replacing the electrolytic caps on the boards. It might cost you $30.00 dollars a speaker.
If the clock doesn't work it's two 180Kohm resistors on the clock board. That's a $5.00 fix. Many things can go wrong with these cars but most of them are real cheap to fix. These fixes can all be found on-line.
300ZX are World Class Sports Cars and are one of the fastest cars on the Planet. Jackson of Barrett and Jackson said to look for them soon in his auctions. You can have many reasons for buy a 300ZX but the most important one is the fun you will have driving it.

We won the bidding on the 1992 Nissan 300ZX and e-mailed the alleged seller that instead of wiring him $500 within the requested time, we would bring him a cashier's check for the full amount. He agreed in a telephone call to meet us at a certain location with the car. We drove the four hours to the location and he was not there. We found his home by use of my computer and GPS and went there. Residence of the home said that he lived there, but did not know anything about the car that had been sold on E-Bay nor where he was at that time. When we arrived back home, there was a telephone message from the seller, stating that he was unable to sell the car due to a bad divorce. We just dicounted it as an attempted scam and was happy that we had not sent the $500 deposit.

I love the looks of these cars but the motor in mine stopped running. After about 1000.00 in parts like the PTU and CPU it still does not run.

This automible, in my opinion, is the most beautiful of Nissan's creations. I purchased the vehicle as I had driven one similar in the 90's putting 200,000 miles on it before I traded it for a Maxima. The new ZX had 85,500 miles on it and was kept in immaculate conditon. I knew the automobile and I worked with the seller (a magnificant man) and the Nissan Dealership in that state to bring the 22 year old car up to date for a 1,000 mile trip through the mountains to it's new home. She drove like she was new.
The most important part of the purchase was the seller. A moderate expendature and an investment of equal amount to bring the vehicle to a mechanical peak, I relied on the rating of the seller in making my decisions about many things. Particularly transferring title to another state, which did not accept the title of the state of ornigne, the seller took a leading role in the satisfaction of the problem. He is a credit to the Ebay family.
The entire experience was wonderful, now the only challange that I have is to keep MY Nissan 300ZX in the same showroom conditon as the seller.

1986 Nissan 300ZX: 1986 300ZX an automobile for the evryman

I purchased my 1986 300ZX as a fixer upper. I already had a mint 1992 Toyota Mr2, but liked the 80's style of the 300. Plus it talks to you! I have a bad back so the 4 adjustable air bags in the seats added extra comfort. The interior is huge! I once purchased a 34 inch Sony Trinitron and to the sales staff's surprise, drove it home in the Z!
Replaced the exhaust with a Dynaflow system. The air intake with K&N system. All plugs, wires, and alternator. In reality the car was cherry. I had the wheels stripped a nd buffed to a mirror finish. I had the stereo upgraded by putting all the new technology hidden in the back storage area out of view. It was very comfortable in every way.
I had my car dyno at 220 hp, which isn't that much these days. The car was very heavy too. That probably helped the bumps and potholes of Erie PA. I had the car a bit over 132 mph tracked by two seperate gps hand held systems. I was running half tank cam2 and 94.
I sold the car, to pay for a wedding, mine. Also sold the Mr2, which I paid 7,000 more than the 300! I liked the 300 way better then the Toyota. I have been thinking of leasing a new 350, but I think the 80's styling and design is what pulled me in. I hope to get one some day again. I real loved this car and if your a enthusiast you will too!

What a great car to drive. The t tops were fun in the nice weather. The surprise is the gas mileage. We have just put 1900 miles in 6 days & we were getting over 32 miles per gallon. We have had a great vacation flying down to Florida & driving back up to Ohio in this vehicle. Lots of thumbs up for a vintage car. :) I decided to buy it because my little sister had one new in 1985 & I loved it. Took me a little while to get one. We put new tires on it in Florida & I think Sams Club put wrong ones on due to the higher speed it wandered. My sisters did not do that. I will take it back to sams here in Ohio to make sure correct tires are on car.
