After looking at M3's and the new BMW 335 Coupe, I decided on the G35 Coupe. The cost of the cars vs the G are enough to change your decision. The people that own BMW's have told me that unless you like spending gobs of money on maintenance, don't buy a Bemmer. I ended up buying mine from a BMW dealer, it was a one owner with 13K miles, all options minus NAV.
I enjoy the size of the car and the ability to carry addtional passengers if the need arrises. The gas milage is around 19 in town, I'm getting ready to go on a 1K round trip vacation so we'll see what I get on the road. Even though the car has 14K miles now, the tire man said I need to look into some new meats around the 20K time frame. Another person at work has a 350Z and has the same size tires front and back, need to look into doing the same even though the wheels are different width/offsets if could save you some money.
Along the lines of tires, the Micheline Pilots provide an excessive amount of noise. It's incredible, I'm not sure I've had so much noise from any other vehicle other than a 4X$ truck! I'm trying to look into replacement tread but reading the reviews on the Tire Rack doesn't help much.
I'm about 6'1" and I find the placement of the shifter a bit too far back for me, I'd like it relocated about 2 inches forward. The brakes are great (Brembo) and the interior is nice. My biggest complaint about the whole car is the irritating traction control. If you'd like to have a little spirited driving, it's best to turn it off ahead of time, or rounding a corner it'll come on at the worst time. So, it's best just to turn it off when you enter the car if it's dry out. Like to find something that would reprogram it so it's turned off when you start it.
Overall, nice car, and I'd buy another one, possibly the G37, but it'd be anther 6sp, I don't like anything I've read about the automatics and they're still behind the times with a 5 speed, should be at least a 6 speed.
