I bought my Civic last fall because I like the new body style and I wanted a good value on a car that gets great gas mileage and also has lots of safety features.

Here is what I think after 1 year:

• It’s a fun car to drive. I do a good deal of canyon driving and there is plenty of torque to keep my speed in most situations.
• This car is great in the snow. I’ve driven it with chains in sticky situations, and I’d rather be in my civic than a 4X w/ no chains. I think Honda is generally a good car in cold climates.
• I’m not sold on the “drive by wire” system – I kind of prefer my ’91 Acura in terms of throttle feel.
• Car handles really well –but I can’t wait till the tires are worn enough to justify new ones.
• I really like the fact that my hood is smaller than my windshield. It may seem a bit sketchy, but the visibility for a wide range of drivers is outstanding.
• Go for the manual transmission! Honda states that the automatic is superior to the manual in terms of gas mileage, but I live in an area with plenty of hills and I still push up to about 35 - 39 mpg with the stick shift.
• At first I did not really like the sound of the stereo –maybe I’m just used to it, but it seems ok. Honda could do better w/ the stereo but it’s not as though you’re paying a premium price.
• Interior is cool – I’m a sucker for the two tone dash a la the old Acuras. I love the heads up speedometer and dash.
• The “Latch” system for my kid’s car seat works seamlessly and adds yet another layer of assurance along with the many airbags.
• The kid has tried her best to muck up the back seat, but so far it cleans really well.

I’ve driven a comparable Toyota and I prefer the Honda overall –especially if you’re over 6'

If you can pick an ’06 Civic up for around that 15k mark –I say you can’t do much better for the $.

i bought to fix up. it would be a great gas mileage car. but when i asked questions and got false answers. i was told there was no more damage than what the pictures show. then i drive 350 miles. and find out the back of the car is also smashed in. we dont need deception like that on ebay. i refuse to leave negative feedback. BECAUSE THE EBAY COMUNITY IS WAY TOO UNFAIR FOR EVERYONE. RULES FOR EVERYONE SHOULD BE THE SAME.NO DIFFERANT FOR BUYERS THAN SELLERS. i TRY NOT to leave feedback. ITS BOGUS. AND ITS CONTROLLED TO BE TOTALLY UNFAIR. when we say freedom of speach, ebay says oh yah right we control what can be said. it sounds like dictatorship all over again. i hope you clowns at ebay read this. i know there are many that are upset about your reign in power, and control of speech. so it doesnt really matter what i say. RIGHT. with the freedom of speech on ebay. i refuse to sell on ebay. i have been burnt by FELLOW ebayers when i sold. and the only thing i had to let others know about these people, was negative feedback. i buy on ebay, not at all as much as i would like, but not sell. you idiots took that right away from the sellers of free speech. granted you had some great offers and lower rates for selling, but i live in america, land of freedom of speech. if i cant sell something with confidence of security, i wont sell. think about it. and i know i am not the only one that thinks that way. your loss. ebay should just pack up and go to a country that contorls what you can and cant say. but dont be based in the united states and play dictator.

This deal never happened, When I contacted the seller and offered to meet him at his home and pay him cash for the car, He said he could not meet me on a Saturday because he had to go to church, secondly the car was not regesterd in his name and the story he gave me about the car sounded "bogus" to me, he keep on insisting on sending a $500 deposit within 24HR I said I will meet you within 24hr and pay you for the car, after a few more phone calls I told the guy to keep his car.

I have owned many Honda Civics and they are one of the best quality and most fuel efficent vehicles out there. This one that I bought here on Ebay is a great little car and I am getting around 42 MPG on mixed driving. The car has issues that was not stated in the auction, and working with the seller, we have come to an agreement to fix these issues. All in all, I am very pleased with the reliability and comfort, and that the car is fairly sporty and fun to drive.

For a 1600 cc motor, it has pretty good pick up if you keep the rpm's up. I do miss not having cruise control for trips. I,m looking into an after market kit. My leg position for the gas pedal is a little uncomfortable and still be able to push the clutch all the way down. The intermittent wipers are strange. A half of stroke that goes a little past half way and after several minutes it stops half way right in my line of sight. Great gas milage. Averaged 36 mpg at 80 mph with a/c on from Florida to Missouri. Last trip with a/c on and normal speed 65-70 mph I got 38 mpg. I really like the rear fold down seats that are lockable. Trunk pretty good size for a small car. I was able to put a full size suit case in it with out putting the rear seat down. The main reason I bought this car was for the gas milage. My truck was eating me up on gas going to work. A friend of mine wants me to auto cross this car in the stock class. It sounds a like a lot of fun, but I don't really want to shorten the life of this car. I have notice quite a bit of rust under the read bumper mounts. Probable from the road salt when it was in Maine from the previous owner. I may have to replace. This area must hold in the moisture. A place thats needs extra attention at the car wash. A fun car to drive.

Car is ok. Was in a major accident and needed a transmission--none of this was told to me by the seller. All in all another poor experience with Ebay.

I did not purchase the car due to a mutual agreement from me and seller, I can say the seller was so kind in trying to help me in any way he could. if I ever purchaser a use car i would use that seller on ebay. again thanks.

The seller made it seem as if a quick sale was needed and had cash only for payment; however, he never followed through on the sale to deliver the car to us. Fortunately, no money was sent so no money was lost, but my daughter lost two weeks of time while we waited for the auction to end and attempted to get delivery of the vehicle. We opened a dispute with eBay, but there has been no resolution. The seller appears to have disappeared. We went on and purchased another vehicle.

I was a little leary of buying a vehicle through eBay, but I have had such good experiences before with other auctions that I gave it a chance. I will not attempt to buy a vehicle through eBay again. They do not have any way to guarantee that the seller will deliver. We used AutoTrader to find another car and are very happy.
