What it's Worth - Price Range Information
Just Sold on eBay Motors
The Just Sold on eBay Motors price range represents the lowest and highest completed sale price for this vehicle on eBay Motors within the last 90 days.
Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value Range
The Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value Range is representative of dealers' asking prices and is the starting point for negotiation between a consumer and a dealer. This Suggested Retail Value Range assumes that the vehicle has been fully reconditioned and has a clean title history. This value also takes into account the dealers' profit, costs for advertising, sales commissions and other costs of doing business. The range represents asking prices that typically occur for the vehicle model throughout the United States, not all vehicles sell for the exact same price, which is why the company also offers a value range. By showing both the low and high ends of the range the company can better reflect whether a given vehicle's asking price varies widely or hardly at all. The final sale price will likely be less depending on the vehicle's actual condition, popularity, type of warranty offered and local market conditions. This range includes pricing for used vehicles, not new or late model vehicles.

I've been looking for a 64 Ford Galaxie 500, for about 8 years now. And I thought I had finally found one that was in my price range and in fairly good condition for the money, That is according to the seller, well the car was not as clean and pretty as Chris described in his E-bay AD. He also stated that it starts right-up everytime, well that was not the case with this car. When the "Auto transporter" delivered the car to me the battery was dead and the car would not start. The driver that delivered the car stated that he had been trying to charge the battery to get the vehicle ready for me when I picked it up. We finally got the car started but it would not stay on. When I left the parking lot it was OK, as soon as I got to the first light to stop the car Died on me and I couldn't get it started again. I had to have it towed to my house. there are some serious electrical problems with the car, the alternator does not even work, meaning that it does not even charge the battery. And chris also stated that there was no RUST on the car. Well beleive me there is plenty of RUST on this car. I understand that this is an old car.... My only issue with Chris is that Its not in as good a shape as he described it in the AD. He really left alot of things out that he should have told me. $5600.00 may not be alot of money to some people / Chris, but its a hell of alot of money to me. I just feel that Chris really misrepresented the car all together. He is not a very honest person, I'm sorry to say. He also said to me that he will not leave me any feedback until I leave it first."I don't understand this at all". I thought the only thing that I had to do to get my positive feedback was send him all the money as we agreed, well I've done exactlly what he has asked of me, he has been paid in full for the car and now he wants me to leave him his feedback first. Well to be honest with you my feedback to him will not be very positive, I think this is why he wants me to leave it first. THIS IS TOTALLY NOT FAIR. I am strongly considering filing a complaint with E-bay. And I am prepared to take photographs of all the issues the car has, that chris failed to disclose to the buyer.

1963 Ford Galaxie: 1963 Ford Galaxie 500 Convertable is an Instant Classic

• Overall Satisfaction:5/55/5
The 1963 Galaxie was a classic from the first day it rolled off the showroom floor. This car's distinctive lines and styling are timeless and are now among the most collected Fords of any era. These Galaxies offered many choices for the car buyer. The line offered a large choice of models starting with the Galaxie Sedan. These Galaxie were the base model cars with very simple trim and ornamentation, usually equipped with the smaller engine configuration; However, these cars could be special ordered with just about any engine. The Galaxie 500 Sedans, Hardtop, and Convertible were a step up from the base model Galaxie and featured an attractive full length upper and lower body side molding and attractive cloth and vinyl interior trim package. The Galaxie 500XL models were available in the Hardtop both four door and two door, the Convertible and the 1963 ½ Galaxie Fastback which featured a new sporty roof line with no post and Starliner type looks. The standard equipment on these cars was a deluxe offering with standard bucket seats and console, full wheel covers, wall to wall carpeting, courtesy lights, contoured deluxe seat upholstery among other luxury features. The 1963 was offered with several engine choices. The Mileage Maker Six Cylinder (All models except 500XL), 260 V-8 at 164 horsepower, the 352 Thunderbird V-8 at 220 horsepower, the Thunderbird 390-4V engine at 220 horsepower, the 406 Thunderbird High Performance with tri-power carburetion at 405 horsepower. Ford later introduced the 427 high performance engine in both a single four barrel version at 410 horsepower and a dual four barrel carburetor at an astounding 425 horsepower. This engine option was offered in a very limited number of 1963 Galaxies. Transmission types were the Synchro Smooth manual column shift, the 4 speed manual on the floor, Fordomatic Drive automatic, and Cruise-O-Matic three speed automatic. Some of the available options for 1963 are as follows: Swing Away Steering Wheel, Power Front Seat, Power Windows, Power Steering, Power Brakes, Padded Dash and Visors, Backup Lights, Deluxe Wheel Covers, Spotlight Mirrors and Select Aire Conditioner. Words fail to describe the beauty and design of this legendary Galaxie. The 1963 will always be of great interest to the car collector and Ford enthusiast.

It is my personal belief that the 1967 big Ford cars are the high-water mark of Ford's ability to build
beautiful cars.

They built them very strong back in the day - the frame and structure of these cars was legendary stuff -
however, the full-size Ford cars of the 1960s and 1970s have an Achilles heel. Those incredibly strong frames had a bad habit of trapping water inside the side rails, which over a few years will cause the frames to rot, from the inside out. Today, I advise in the STRONGEST POSSIBLE TERMS that you carefully inspect the frame of any potential purchase - or if you can't do so personally, hire an inspection service to do it for you! No kidding, fellas, a bad frame is dangerous business - in all versions of the big Fords, but especially so in convertibles, because ragtops don't have a solid roof structure to reinforce the frame. If the car is still straight, a good frame shop can patch a rusted frame for you, but expect to pay for it.

The performance you'll get from these cars will vary, depending on the engine. The little 289 V8s are good all-around engines, but if you really want the big girl to run, look for one with a 390 or 428 - and have your gas card handy, 'cause it takes 25 gallons to fill one of these big cars up, and with a 390 or 428 on board, emptying that tank out again isn't hard to do.

I guess what you want is how I like the 1964 Galaxie that I bought. All I bought it for was a sample car for the convertable that I'm restoring. It seems to be more together than most of the ones that I've seen for parts cars. I love the type of car anyway and this one will go back on the road someday also.

Its a great example of the quality cars that were built in the 60's. It combines comfort, looks and performance all in one. I have always wanted a classic car and this one fit the bill price wise, condition and location. I have no dislikes about this car, it brings back my teenage days.

I bought car for $13,500 on 12/24/07 - car received had several major discrepancies - as of 2/9/08 I have still not received a title for car - went through ebays dispute console, trust and safety, and vehicle protection program - have not received any follow-up emails from ebay about resolution - ebay needs to take a more active interest in fraudulant sellers and communicate more frequently with distressed buyers - would not have known all my options if i had not personally called customer service
