What it's Worth - Price Range Information
Just Sold on eBay Motors
The Just Sold on eBay Motors price range represents the lowest and highest completed sale price for this vehicle on eBay Motors within the last 90 days.
Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value Range
The Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value Range is representative of dealers' asking prices and is the starting point for negotiation between a consumer and a dealer. This Suggested Retail Value Range assumes that the vehicle has been fully reconditioned and has a clean title history. This value also takes into account the dealers' profit, costs for advertising, sales commissions and other costs of doing business. The range represents asking prices that typically occur for the vehicle model throughout the United States, not all vehicles sell for the exact same price, which is why the company also offers a value range. By showing both the low and high ends of the range the company can better reflect whether a given vehicle's asking price varies widely or hardly at all. The final sale price will likely be less depending on the vehicle's actual condition, popularity, type of warranty offered and local market conditions. This range includes pricing for used vehicles, not new or late model vehicles.

1966 Chevrolet El Camino: Beauty is in the eye of the beholder

Images of car looked good in ad but were very deceiving. Seller either is not a car guy or is a total fraud. Many serious problems undisclosed or overlooked. Completely misrepresented condition of car. Told me to take it up w/Ebay! Sure. I have purchased hundreds of items from Ebay and MOST have been good deals. Some have been exceptional. However, these auctions are like going to Las Vegas- Never spend more money than you can afford to lose! Unless an item is actually new, you have to take the seller's word for it's condition. The term 'used' can cover a lot of ground and it's true that 'one man's trash is another man's treasure'. It works both ways here. I don't want to think the seller of this El Camino was intentionally attempting to screw someone when he listed the car, but there are problems on this car that a blind person could see, had he been there. I live 500 miles from where the car was sold and I should have spent some time and money on a trip to personally inspect the car before I bid but I trusted the seller. So, I have a lot of space left to continue writing but I'm afraid that all I would do is complain. Well. I paid enough that I have the right to do that. Let my experience be a lesson to you and me. Never assume anything about an Ebay auction unless you have seen the item first. Feedback doesn't always mean you are dealing with an honest seller, especially when a lot of money is changing hands. There, I've said my piece, now remember--Buyer beware!

1973 Chevrolet El Camino: Buying a Classic Car/Truck (el Camino)

I wanted a '73 el Camino like the one I had in college. It is a nice looking truck, you can haul stuff and it turns heads. In the words of NECOA "Interesting people drive interesting cars"

The 4th generation, 1973 to 1977, is one of the least popular el Caminos. They came with big bodies, lots of options and very 70's details like the wood grain side panels, lots of body moldings and two tone paint. I love 'em. (except the vinyl wood grain) They have classic rust spots, behind the rear wheels, behind the front wheels, in front of the rear wheels, heck the whole bottom half. Repair panels are available. Many parts are interchangeable with other GM vehicles of the same time frame.

If you plan on buying an older vehicle, look at it!!! I is worth a plane ticket or a drive or a third party inspection. The seller may not even know of all the problems or goodies. A $200 inspection can save you a $2000 mistake. The price between a 350 and a 305 will pay for the inspection.

For a daily driver go for the smaller engine. If you just show it or play on the weekends, go for the muscle and screw the gas prices. Restoration costs money and takes time and space. If you don't have all three then buy a done deal that somebody needs to sell. Don't buy a project that will just sit and depreciate.

Good luck, good day and happy driving.

it was not in the condition the owner made it to be in. It has a lot of rust.I decided to buy it because i always wanted a 1969 SS El Camino. I thought i was getting a good car for the price but it was faulsely advertised. Its going to cost me more to fix and replace all the rust then what the vehicle was worth.
