1997-2004 Chevrolet Corvette

I was very nervouse about buying a car I'd never driven. But Chevy has stood the test, especially in this Corvette. The car is a beaut! Much more that was expected.
The Comfort, is uncompairable, it hugs and cushions so well.
The handling is amazine.
All over Great Car!!!!

As far as the ratings listed above, all is great.My only concern is the extreme road noise ,tire noise, whatever you wish to label it.This applies with the top up or down.I purchased a trunk divider that seperates the passenger compartment and the trunk. This did help a lot but there is still a lot of room for improvement.That being said, that's a small price to pay for such a great car.I would buy this car again in a heartbeat.This is my fourth vet, from c2s thru c5's,this is the best so far.I highly recommend it.

Well 1st of all i fell in love in the color, Its an EYE CATCHER & i get lots of complements From Everyone!
You Feel like a king on the road, But i did not like the handeling on the car It slides from side to side.
And for a coup it has more options then other exotic cars.

My first vet...I had no idea what an amazing car this is. So comfortable...I drove for FIVE hours before getting out! for coffee-out and gas. And oh by the way...I got 30 MGP on the highway. Actually, this well kept secret should stay that way. These are special cars!!

The 1999 Corvette I purchased on Ebay is an exceptional vehicle. It exceeded all my expectations in quality, and performance. The car looks incredible!

I waited many years for the right Corvette. I refused to settle. This car was found to be as advertised-MINT!! The ride back from Florida was a thrill. My wife also enjoys the feel of a roadster. Acceleration and handling is awesome!

This car is everything I dreamed of and more. I've been waiting for years to get one and it was worth the wait. I have owned other performance cars and this is by far the most wicked. Handling, power and styling are insane. There are some issues with these c5 cars you should know about though. There have been SEVERAL owners that have had an issue with the steering coulmn lock. There are recalls by GM for this problem but they don't really address the root of the problem. One recall involves them installing a relay to prevent the steering lock from engaging, and removing the lock plate in the steering wheel but they have had repeated failures with the relay that's supposed to "fix" the problem. They also program in a failsafe that makes the car's fuel pump shut off if you try to drive it over 2 mph with the "service column lock" error message. This is so you can't hurt yourself or someone else and come back to sue GM. See how this doesn't really "fix" the problem but in my opinion, prevent a bigger issue for them. There is a solution to the problem though. There's a device called a column lock bypass module available all over the internet. This device plugs into the wiring harness under the steering wheel and prevents the column lock from engaging all together.
Gm did the recall on my car where they pulled the lock plate, but their relay failed and still left me stuck. So there I was with a column lock error message,a car I couldn't drive, a steering wheel that wasn't even locked, but the car thought it was so no fuel pump pressure! Talk about a mess.... I installed a column bpass lock module and the problem vanished. Now, as long as this module works I can't see any way the car's computer can get an error message from the steering column and shut me down again.
If you own a 1997-2001 C5, be VERY wary of this issue!!I have heard stories Of dealers charging 500-900 to other owners to "fix" this problem that often they cause with their faulty recall. I personally called my local dealer to question them when this happened to me and I was told: "there is no way any of the recall service caused any of your problem. This must be something in your anti-theft system. After all, the fuel cut off is so a thief can't drive your car away." LIES!!!!!!! Do the research yourself on the recalls. THEY program in the fuel cutoff to stop idiots from trying to drive with a locked column and getting themselves and GM in a lot of trouble. Now my dealership is covering their butts rather that addressing the issue. Remember, as soon as I removed THEIR K-harness relay, my car started right up and the error message was gone! I installed the CLB module to prevent getting a possble error message again in case the Column lock motor failed.

Anyway, all those problems aside you will LOVE these cars. I just hope that my experience can help someone else in case this happens to them. Remember you can always install one of those modules prior to getting trhe error message as preventative maintenance. This is what several Corvette club members recommend to new owners. The choice is yours.

I bought the car from a use car dealer over a month ago and am completely satisfied. The car is in mint condition and is everything that I expected. Driving over 600 miles home, I had time to test the performance and was impressed. The ride for a sports cars was excellent. I am 6ft 2in and had ample room. The car got 31.2 mpg until road construction brought traffic to a stop and go situation. For the 600 mile trip home the average mpg according to the gauge was 29.8.
So far everything has performed exactly the way it was designed to perform and I am one happy corvette owner!

What fun to drive. Takes me back to the days just after getting my drivers license and any opportunity to get behind the wheel was a good one! The 10 year old corvette has had a couple of minor problems but nothing serious.
The ride is suprisingly good for a sports car. Handling is outrageous. I
would strongly advise anyone trying to re-kindle that spark of fun and excitement in their life to forget what everyone will think or say and go for it.

This is a classic 50th anniversary Chevrolet Corvette Convertible that is a tribute to the famous Corvette line that has been manufactured since 1953. This vehicle is high tech in all aspects to include magnetic ride control, automatic controlled handling, digital gauges, Bose sound system with multi CD changer, memory controls and a variety of other features too numerous to mention. There is really nothing to dislike about this car because it has everything that a true sports car addict would enjoy. This car is really an investment because it will only appreciate in value as the years go by due to the limited number of production models that were manufactured. If you are a true Corvette aficianado and a lover of fine sports motor cars, this is the ultimate vehicle for you to own.
