What it's Worth - Price Range Information
Just Sold on eBay Motors
The Just Sold on eBay Motors price range represents the lowest and highest completed sale price for this vehicle on eBay Motors within the last 90 days.
Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value Range
The Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value is representative of dealers' asking prices and is the starting point for negotiation between a consumer and a dealer. This Suggested Retail Value assumes that the vehicle has been fully reconditioned and has a clean title history. This value also takes into account the dealers' profit, costs for advertising, sales commissions and other costs of doing business. The range represents asking prices that typically occur for the vehicle model throughout the United States, not all vehicles sell for the exact same price, which is why the company also offers a value range. By showing both the low and high ends of the range the company can better reflect whether a given vehicle's asking price varies widely or hardly at all. The final sale price will likely be less depending on the vehicle's actual condition, popularity, type of warranty offered and local market conditions. This range includes pricing for used vehicles, not new or late model vehicles.

2001 Volvo V70: V70 XC is an affordable SUV killer

We needed the space of an SUV, but didn't want the stigma. We have two big dogs, and enjoy getting them to the snow. My wife wanted heated seats, leather trim, steering wheel radio controls, AWD and enough space for the dogs and suitcases for an overnight trip.

We first bought the Lexus LX470 - but the damn thing drove like a truck. In a stiff wind, we were changing lanes without moving the steering wheel. The truck got 12MPG on the highway.

The Volvo Cross Country has adequate acceleration, strong brakes, and some of the most comfortable seats in the industry. We average 22MPG and the ride is better-than-average comfortable. The car is a strong value (we got ours on ebay for $9.5k and 80k miles from Phoenix). Transmissions are the weakness apparently in this car - so be sure to have it checked as the replacement is $4k.

I took the car skiing yesterday and was pleasantly surprised with the sure-footedness of the car.

Well done Volvo.

Update (7/08): 22MPG avg. 26 HWY MPG. This car has more small mechanical failures than I wish. Electrics, suspension, and transmission are all suspect. Most comfortable seats in any car I have owned (out of more than 50).

2001 Volvo V70: Pan European

First of all, I have driven almost all European vehicles and many American vehicles as well.
Volvo V70 belongs among the strong line of Audi A6, BMW 5 and Mercedes E-class.
Indeed, all of these cars are excellent.
For the exterior: I had a 2001 Volvo V70 with 130,000 miles and when I inspected its chassis, I did not find any sign of rust. The car's exterior is likable, strong looking and has adequate respect on the road. The craftsman shift of the exterior is impeccable, as well as is the interior. The designers gave all the attention to details and the interior is therefore very luxurious and ergonomic. Even though the quality of the Volvo V70 interior doesn't quite reach the one of a Audi or Mercedes, the price sticker tells you why: Volvo retails for about $35,000 whereas a Mercedes goes for $55,000. The cargo space is very voluminous. You will be able to beat you neighbor with his pick-up truck.
Overall, Volvo V70 is a five star vehicle, has impressive five start crash tests and neat gas consumption, yet is very swift. One thing to point out are the seats. The seats of a Volvo are one of the most comfortable car seats on earth.
Whether you want a V70 for a family of five (or up to 7 with third row) or for business or leisure time, you will never go wrong with this impressive vehicle. Very likely one of the most versatile vehicles on the market. Ultimately recommended.

2001 Volvo V70: We love it!

We really love our "new" Volvo. The car was in great condition and the transaction process was smooth and easy. We already had an older Volvo and were looking for an upgrade. We found it with this car ... feels like luxury and we're enjoying it tremendously. The gas mileage ain't bad either.
