1996 Volvo 850

Excellent car, purchased over eBay and was very satisfied with it. For starters it has a weird engine which gives you power when you need it and economy when you need that. It comes with 5 cylinders so when you turn on the ac and want to go fast you do not loose power. The comfort of the seats is amazing, and it feels as if you are in a complete sports car due to the way the seats conform to your body. The sound system, which is currently in my 850 (premium sound, stock) has 100w of power which runs through 8 speakers, and personally I've never thought 100 wats of power could sound that good. The seats are amazing, the ride is very comfortable as I can tell you from experience. After purchasing the car took 2, 1400 mile trips, not 1 problem with the car and performed admirably with everything that I put it through. Very impressed that a car company could do so well. Also with the added safety of the multiple air bags on the car and the side impact air bags it makes the volvo 850 which is already a safe car even safer. Great investment if you are looking for a great, reliable, comfortable, and good with gas car. The gas mileage on the 850 I own is 19-24 mpg in the city and 29-34 mpg on the highway, very very good mileage for almost a sports car. Awesome car, thats all I can say. 9.7/10 rating

I bought this car almost 2 years ago and I LOVE it. It's quirky, dependable, has all the hauling capacity you could ever need, but has no problem blowing most "sports" cars off the road. The seats are amazing.... I have a back injury and lately these are the best place for me to get some relief. The turbo, while only minimally lessening gas mileage, is the preferred engine. It can go and go and go (like the energizer bunny) and you do not feel exhausted after a long road trip. The car has excellent road manners, is predictable, and with front and side airbags, what more could you ask?? I plan to keep this on the road until it has 500,000 miles, and I am near halfway there with no major trouble. eBay is a terrific source for parts for these cars. Being european made, parts from the dealer and service center are a bit pricey... so if you can find a reputable Volvo mechanic (and do ask for references) that does not mind being supplied with the parts, you will find it as inexpensive as a Toyota, and lots more fun and stylish. I would not hesitate to recommend this car to anyone.
