2006 Volkswagen Jetta

While Deployed in Iraq, I purchased a 2006 Jetta TDI from Denauto Auto Brokers. After winning and purchasing the car, the staff of Denauto were great in helping in anyway they can to get the car to my residence in another state. Upon receiving the vehicle at home, my father-in-law tested the car out for himself to see if there was any thing wrong with it and I made him scrutinize everything he could.

His inspection is as follows:
1.)Great steering
2.)Very little if any sloppiness in shifting. Just a little bit of trouble going into first gear.
3.)Clutch is in great condition.
4.)Almost no exterior issues except for some small scratches here and there.
5.)Extremely quiet car for a diesel engine.
6.)Trunk sometimes didn't like to stay shut, was a really simple fix.
7.)Car has all the bells and whistles and they all work great.
8.)Even though it's not what he thought it would be for acceleration, it was definitely better than most cars.
9.)His overall impression of the car was it was great mileage, good performance, extremely comfortable, and everything worked perfectly.

He said for the price I got it for, it was definitely the best investment money could buy.

Would I recommend this dealer? Yes.
Would I buy again? Yes. I was very comfortable throughout the entire event with my purchase. The sellers were very professional, respectful, and prompt with everything that needed to get done.

This car has excellent acceleration and plenty of power for hills. It exceeded my expectations, and changed my preconceived notions about diesel vehicles. Unbelievably huge trunk. Very comfortable while traveling. Red and blue dash lights were a bit annoying at first, but I am getting used to them. Mileage is unbelievable. I have a heavy foot, and got 44 MPG on a 300+ mile trip going 80mph with the AC running. I have a friend that owns an older model with a diesel. He has 234,000 miles with no maintenance except PM. If you can find one of these, buy it. You won't regret it. My views are based on the 5-speed manual transmission. I don't know about the long term reliability of an automatic, but if it is as well engineered as the rest of the car, the automatic should last a long time too.

Great value for the money invested, good general condition, but it will need several repairs to have
a reliable car for our daugther. Well a used car most of the tme will need some work.

I bought a 2006 Jetta TDI brand new from a dealer and can not tell you how happy we have been. Absolutely gets 44.6 mpg commuting to work every day in mixed hwy and city driving. Tight, great fit and finish, and extremely reliable and drives like a 3 series BMW. I owned a 1997 Passatt diesel prior and got 55 mpg but everything fell apart on that old car. Door hardware, window motors, switches etc, but I can tell you that is NOT the situation with the newer VW's. I am NOT a VW salesman, but would consider it if the economy gets worse. I love this car and am shopping for a second one as I type this review.

This is my second Jetta deisel. My first one was a 2001 model. The best mileage I had on it was 53. I still drive it to work with 170K miles. The new model trades a few miles per gallon for some extra rear legroom and quieter engine. This vehicle is much more refined than the 2001. The German engineering on these cars really shows if you have experience with asian cars. They feel much more solid on the road and seldom exhibit the front end and brake problems of the asian counterparts.

This Jetta has been very good so far. A little small for a family of four. It does very good on fuel, we average between 35-40 miles/gallon both city and highway combined. Over all I relly recomend this car.

I bought the Jetta package 1 for my daughter. My daughter went away to College and I drive it. I sold a 6 month old BMW X3 for lack of use. I enjoyed driving the Jetta over the BMW. The car is great on gas and holds the road on highway runs.It feels like you could drive forever. It has great pick up and torque on the low end.The car has everything you could want and a deep trunk for storage. I had one minor service issue that was covered under warranty. I recommended this car as a best value to a friend and he bought one. He agrees with my thoughts It's too much vehicle for a little bit of money.

I love this Jetta!! I have owned 2 VW Jettas and I think they are great cars. I currently own the 2006 Jetta and I drive it 120 miles everyday to and from work. It is comfy and reliable. Overall, I haven't had any issues with the car. I do however have an issue with the trunk. It doesn't latch at times and when it's cold outside, it is hard to close. My mother in law and borther in law own the same car and have the same issue. Otherwise...it's a great car!!!
