What it's Worth - Price Range Information
Just Sold on eBay Motors
The Just Sold on eBay Motors price range represents the lowest and highest completed sale price for this vehicle on eBay Motors within the last 90 days.
Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value Range
The Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value is representative of dealers' asking prices and is the starting point for negotiation between a consumer and a dealer. This Suggested Retail Value assumes that the vehicle has been fully reconditioned and has a clean title history. This value also takes into account the dealers' profit, costs for advertising, sales commissions and other costs of doing business. The range represents asking prices that typically occur for the vehicle model throughout the United States, not all vehicles sell for the exact same price, which is why the company also offers a value range. By showing both the low and high ends of the range the company can better reflect whether a given vehicle's asking price varies widely or hardly at all. The final sale price will likely be less depending on the vehicle's actual condition, popularity, type of warranty offered and local market conditions. This range includes pricing for used vehicles, not new or late model vehicles.

Hello friends, I would like to give some info on buying a tdi, I know nothing about gasums. I own a dealership that sells nothing but diesels car's and trucks. 1st thing these cars are great fuel economy wonderful simple little car. Performance is a surprise since it is only a 90 horse power car but high in torque. Very reliable cars if they have been taken care of. Be prepared to spend at least 500 to 800.00 dollars on one if you are a perfectionist after the buy. The Tdi's made in 2002 Had a timing belt that only lasted 60,000 TO 80,OOO miles , but after service you can upgrade to the 100,000 mile timing belt. If you go cheap and don't have a dealer do the service make sure you have done all rollers, clean intake from carbon, water pump since they are right there and really important do cam seal and Craftshaft seal. Some don't do this its a no no!! Make sure you find a mechanic that knows a Tdi. Trust me if you are new to diesel's a gasum lover will jack one up in a heart beat. Comfort is good with these cars as long as its one or 2 people in the car. Any more is stuffed. If you are looking for a car to do car seats for babies watch out it will be cramped and when the graduate to a larger car seat they will be kicking you in the back... time for spanking...well time out .. haha. So comfort is great for 2 any more is cramped. These cars will last a long time since they are diesel but it is key to have timing belt service and all services up. You should only use Mobil one full synthetic 5w 40 don't us any other weight or Rotella regular will clog motor and build carbon up on intake. The 5 speeds seem to get better fuel economy. When you buy a diesel you should be buying one for at least 7 years then after that it pays you to drive it. the Tdi's aren't like diesel truck its like a diesel Rolex you must up keep them to last. German craftsmanship made in Mexico. I have seen one car (tdi )with 649,000 miles on it without a rebuild on the motor. If you can settle for a small interior and up keep then this is your car. Good luck to you diesels lovers. OPPSIE DID I MENTION THESE WILL RUN ON BIO-DIESEL TOO!!

2002 Volkswagen Jetta: VW 2002 Jetta

• Overall Satisfaction:
I bought this car because a friend kept telling me how much he loved his Jetta. This price point was also within my price range. I also liked the safety ratings (very important because I have a young child). I like the car for the reasons above, but don't love it as outlined below.
What I don't love about the car is the styling - it could be a little more "cool" given the popularity of the car...
The comfort could also be enhanced - it's ok but not fantastic.

Picked up the car had to bring cash at sellers request.Coming home injector line came loose...lost about 2 gallons of diesel all over the road. Someone had worked on this auto.Drove the car about 1200 miles the engine spun a bearing on the crank shaft...4,000.00 in repair costs. Seller not honest!!! Also the car had sat unlicensed for a year..this info was not disclosed in the add. Would not buy or recommend this seller

Focus on the Poor ratings. Those are the real important ones. I am trying to let all of you know not to make the same mistake that I made. I read up on these cars and I thought that maybe more people wrote in negative remarks than people that had a positive experience...well just look at the reviews. I have not had a ton of problems, just a few up until now. And I was just driving down the road with only 70k miles on it and bam the timing belt skipped a notch and messed everything up. Now the dealership wants $3500 at least to fix it. What a piece of garbage. I knew I should have just stuck with my toyotas. I got the car with 47k and have had it for two years. I thought that maybe I would be the exception to the majority but i think I was wrong. I even read a lot of reviews before I bought mine and saw that VW/Audi didn't have the best reliability on these but I felt like I was getting one with such low miles that I wouldn't have these kinds of problems and I would just beat the odds. There is nothing I can do but have the biggest buyers remorse but you can save yourself now and don't make the same mistake that I made. I was even thinking of selling it just before I had the big problem....Always act on your instinct and not take a chance on stupid VWs. They look nice and you get leather and heated seats and all that crap for cheap, but it is worth nothing in the long run. It is all about reliatibitly and not have having to put money into a car.

Good price for 45 mpg vehicle, drives good and looks good, Darwing is an enthusiast. The car matches the description, I like the cloth seats better than I thought. It may not suit a some people, need to appreciate the mechanical vs comfort and quiet.

2002 Volkswagen Jetta: Very Suspicious

First I called the owner and asked how he got the licenses on the car because the hole don't match up with the license plates. Second, when I went to register the vehicle, they indicated it was not in the system. The DMV approved it, but could not find the vehicle in the system.

I'm going to continue to persue this with the police. I believe the car may be stolen and this is a false title. The holes on the cars do not match up so the plates can be put on the car, and you can see where the screws will have to be drilled and tapped to get the broken portion of the screws out of the holes.

Also, the man brought his son with him to the license exchange and his son was acting extremely strange, like he was on drugs.

Something is very susicious about the entire transaction. I will keep ebay abreast of the entire transaction.

2002 Volkswagen Jetta: Good Car, questionable seller

The 2002 Jetta TDI is basically what I expected. The engine is abit loud, but the fuel mileage is excellent, especially on the highway (43 mpg on our last trip). My only complaint is that it is rather expensive to have repair work done. The Ebay seller I bought from was very misleading about the overall condition of the vehicle and I had to repair things I had been lead to believe were in good working order (score one for the con-artists).

Also, unless the engine is properly warmed up it will not get very good milage around town. Additionally, until the engine is warmed up it does not have very good acceleration (perhaps the two are related??? 8-). I'm thinking of having a remote starter installed so it will have more time to warm up.

Overall, I am very please with the car itself but would definetly NOT recommend the seller I got it from.

ajsippel@hotmail.com - I'd be happy to tell you more.
