What it's Worth - Price Range Information
Just Sold on eBay Motors
The Just Sold on eBay Motors price range represents the lowest and highest completed sale price for this vehicle on eBay Motors within the last 90 days.
Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value Range
The Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value is representative of dealers' asking prices and is the starting point for negotiation between a consumer and a dealer. This Suggested Retail Value assumes that the vehicle has been fully reconditioned and has a clean title history. This value also takes into account the dealers' profit, costs for advertising, sales commissions and other costs of doing business. The range represents asking prices that typically occur for the vehicle model throughout the United States, not all vehicles sell for the exact same price, which is why the company also offers a value range. By showing both the low and high ends of the range the company can better reflect whether a given vehicle's asking price varies widely or hardly at all. The final sale price will likely be less depending on the vehicle's actual condition, popularity, type of warranty offered and local market conditions. This range includes pricing for used vehicles, not new or late model vehicles.

Having owned a 2005 Prius since new (it now has about 80,000 miles), and given it to my daughter when she went to college in 2006, I decided it was time to get another one for myself.

EBay was the perfect answer. I found one that had been in a minor crash, but had been fully repaired, and could be purchased for about $5,000 below market. I flew to Philadelphia (from Louisville) to pick it up, and have been driving it for over a month now. How sweet it is!!!!

I'm now considering buying a new one for my daughter and selling the 2005!

Love this car. I like getting High Mileage & this car gives it to me. No wasted gas sitting at idle (the gas engine shuts off). From a stop, a light foot on the gas & you'll be running on the electric motor. Screen tells you the mileage your getting right now + what you averaged 5 min. ago, 10 min. ago, etc. The two engines work together smoothly. I put in a K & N Air Filter. I believe I'm getting a little more mileage & I know the car now has more power. This is my 2nd vehicle with the K & N Air Filters. And both vehicles now have extra power. The back up camera gives a very wide view of what's behind you. The Navigation & 6 CD changer both work great. JBL Stereo sounds good (but not great). Steering wheel controls are nice. Side Air Bags that come out of the seats, Side Air Bags for the head, Ft. & Rear make me feel safe. Some people complain about the back window split, but it doesn't bother me. Ride on rough road could be smoother. Computer is telling me I'm getting 50+ MPG, but that MAY be a few MPGs too high. Will need another fill-up to know for sure. All in all I would recommend this car to others & would replace with another Prius if something happened to this one.

2008 Toyota Prius: Best decision ever made!

Obviously, this is not a car that is designed to provide sporty performance. What it does is save you money on gasoline, and protects environment along with that. I average 46mpg, and I don't even drive it like I should a hybrid! It has modest acceleration, but once you get it going, you're cruising at 75 mph and getting 80mpg!!! If you're looking to burn rubber, don't waste your time with Prius, get a 'vette instead. But if a "green car" is what you really after, look no further. This is the best of them all.

Vehicle

2008 Toyota Prius Standard 4dr Hatchback (1.5L 4cyl gas/electric hybrid CVT)

Color : Black

Base Model

Suggested Feature / Improvement required :
----------------------------------------

1. Sunroof , Aux port for Ipod , ABS

2. I have been so disappointed in some of the design features. The rear window is difficult to see out of because of a bar running horizontally across

3. the dash is difficult to see in bright sunlight.

4. Driver and Passenger Seat height adjustment needed.

5. Air condition vents are small . it takes more time for the air to pass to the back seat

6. Annoying backup beeping.

Favorite Features
-----------------

1. Great Hybrid car with exterior stylish look

2. Great Mileage, (between 40 - 45 mpg)

3. overall comfort (back seats for adults is quite good), highway handling,

4. sound system good

5. lot of cargo space

6. Less noise while driving (engine is totally quie)

7. Keyless features work great.

FUN to Drive .

I love driving this car! All the gadgets - and it has many! - are really fun. I was worried about the leather seats being uncomfortable in hot weather, but I haven't found that to be the case. So far, I'm averaging around 46 mpg and that includes some highway driving but mostly city driving. Another thing I was worried about was the hatchback. I am in and out of the car for work several times a day and have materials in the back that I need. The rolling screen keeps everything covered and I don't have to bend over so far to get things out. The previous owner had put a bumper guard on which is helpful when getting things in and out often. I haven't had any bad surprises - only good ones.

2008 Toyota Prius: Buying our first hybrid

For some time we have wanted to drive a car that is more earth friendly and leaves less of a carbon imprint on our planet. While we would have liked a plug in hybrid we gave up waiting on a reasonable model to come out.
We like the gas milage we are getting and enjoy driving the car. Although it has high milage the only thing we are disapointed with is that we can not seem to get the cigerette smoke smell out of the car.

2008 Toyota Prius: Salvage recovery Touring model turned out to be fine!

I bought a salvage-title rebuilt Prius Touring model (it was rear-ended in a collision) from an eBay dealer (who has a storefront) and it turned out fine. The dealer even helped me save money with the shipping (she recommended a reasonably-priced car-hauler-service, to save CA state sales taxes on the purchase in favor of lower MI state sales taxes). The vehicle had been rebuilt by a knowledgeable shop with cannibalized parts from other wrecked Prius cars (and a few new replacement parts too). It was a delay to get the repair papers (receipts are important!) so as to pass DMV inspection, but at last the inspector said that the paperwork was good and the rebuild job was well done, and this well-rebuilt vehicle was easy for him to certify. It was also an easy vehicle to insure and to present for a license-plate after the DMV certification was complete.

I took my Prius on a 500-mile drive with my family of four, and the ride was fine and the mileage performed as well as expected (45hwy/50city). The "city" mileage is higher than the "country" mileage, because the stop-and-go driving (with traffic jams and construction delays) causes more use of the electric motor than the gasoline motor. The rear-end suspension made a loud "slapping" sound over big bumps and potholes for a while, but the sound worked itself out somehow: perhaps it was an adjustment from the rebuild of the damaged rear-end that had to be shaken into place. The ride is comfortable and the "Package 6" enhancements in the vehicle work well and are a lot of fun.

Buying a low-mileage rebuilt "salvage" Prius saved me about $10,000 over buying a new showroom model--but of course it's used and no-warranty for what that's worth.

I love the miles per gallon, the ease of driving, the interior, the sound system, the space--just about everything about this car. The only problem I've had is not a problem with the vehicle, but with my understanding of the warning lights. When the low-fuel indicator started flashing, I thought I could go about 50 more miles before I had to refuel. NOT!! I ended up stranded on the side of the road. My fault! My advice is to re-fuel before the low-fuel indicator begins to flash. I bought the car because I have a 90-mile commute 5 days a week. The cost of gas was killing me! Now, we are averaging 50 miles per gallon.

Gulf States Toyota dealers told me MSRP was the only way i could buy a Prius, I accepted that, BUT; when i asked for a touring model with pkg #2 and carpets they said to get a touring model i had to purchase pkg #5 or #6 {3500 or 4200 more}. I perused EBAY and found just exactly the car i wanted even the color my wife wanted. Precision Toyota of Tucson Arizona were wonderful people to deal with and even paid for something that was erronously put in the add. To sum it up , igot the car i wanted, paid to ship it to Houston and still bought it for less than it would have cost me in Texas. For Toyota see Bobby G. or Tony
Parker at PRECISION TOYOTA OF TUCON ARIZONA.
