2000 Saab 9-3

I bought this car in Phoenix and drove it home to Albuquerque. I had never driven a turbo before and let me tell you, That 2.0 liter turbo has quite a bit of get up and go. The car ate up the miles and the moon roof with a full moon out was a joy. The seat is comfortable but the head room lacks about a half inch, so I had to lean the seat back a bit (I am 6-1). The engine just purrs right along and the car looks good from any angle. There seems to be a smell of exhaust when waiting at a light and the car pulls to the left in hard braking, but I'll have that checked out on Monday. If you're thinking about a Saab, I heartily recommend it. It is a blast to drive.

The 2000 Saab 9-3 is a wonderful car that gives the driver a supremely pleasureable (as well as very comfortable) driving experience. Additionally, these cars are great for young drivers because they're so safe. Saab went to great lengths to keep the car's occupants protected in the event of an accident because of things like side airbags (nearly unheard-of in any convertible in 2000) and energy absorbing panels. This car is a blast to drive with its turbocharged engine, but also gets great gas mileage. I did rate the car slightly lower on reliability just because the LCD radio screen is prone to lose its pixels after a few years. However, there is a $10 kit on eBay to fix this yourself, as well as a company called Kramer Micro Repair (they have a website) that will sell you a completely rebuild LCD screen with a lifetime warranty for about 25% of the cost of buying a new screen from the Saab dealer. Overall, I highly recommend this car.

Very safe car and fun to drive, only had it for couple weeks so do not know much else about reliability, has many features yet to figure out.

Hopefully without sounding like a Judge for Dancing With The Stars, the votes above are at best average yet the car itself kinda grips you. Maybe if a vehicle is trouble free, it is also free of character. Anyway, this 7 year old Saab 9-3SE has proved to be moody, on the way home from Orange County to its new home in the high desert the ABS and Brake Warning Lights illuminated the Dashboard. The Computer display made no sense at all and the overall bodywork was poorer than the photos had indicated but the drive is superb, my American friends laughed at the engine size (a mere 2 Litres in comparison to their outrageous V this and V that) but the thumb on the 'S' button soon dispels any lingering thoughts that their supposed muscle cars can keep up! She tears away from the opposition and yes, surprise is an asset. Overall performance s good but will be worked on to improve the MPG. The on board computer was so easy to repair it was embarrassing. I researched the web and discovered a remedy using foam draught excluder from Walmart. About half an hour of my time restored the display to Factory condition! Thanks go to "karenlucy19" on EBay for the method! Might have cost a few hundred more if the Dealer had fixed it! The moral is research online solves most things.

Sorry if you were expecting a Jeremy Clarkson type review but it is just a great car to drive and in LA County surrounded by the P**** Extension Trucks it is a thrill to know that A good little 'un can still wipe the floor with the Bubba of the State.

This car goes 0 to 60 in 5.7 seconds and has a top speed of 150 (electronically limited) and it seats 5 and has a rear hatch that allows loading of a 9 foot surfboard and a 100lb german shepard. Is there even another car that can come close to this??? Maybe an AUDI wagon but that is at twice the cost. This is by far the best vehicle to own period.
