What it's Worth - Price Range Information
Just Sold on eBay Motors
The Just Sold on eBay Motors price range represents the lowest and highest completed sale price for this vehicle on eBay Motors within the last 90 days.
Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value Range
The Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value is representative of dealers' asking prices and is the starting point for negotiation between a consumer and a dealer. This Suggested Retail Value assumes that the vehicle has been fully reconditioned and has a clean title history. This value also takes into account the dealers' profit, costs for advertising, sales commissions and other costs of doing business. The range represents asking prices that typically occur for the vehicle model throughout the United States, not all vehicles sell for the exact same price, which is why the company also offers a value range. By showing both the low and high ends of the range the company can better reflect whether a given vehicle's asking price varies widely or hardly at all. The final sale price will likely be less depending on the vehicle's actual condition, popularity, type of warranty offered and local market conditions. This range includes pricing for used vehicles, not new or late model vehicles.

1999 Porsche Boxster: Why a boxster

I am a pretty tall guy and my wife is not. The boxster is one of the few sports cars that we can both drive comfortably. While this may not seem to be a big deal for some, it means everything if you simly don't fit.

The boxster's basic design is 10 years old and still a performance benchmark for most every 2 seater introduced into the marketplace. There is a reason for it, it is simply that good.

The only issues I have are: expensive parts (but what do you expect) and it really needs more power.

Some possitives: (1) Mine has Michelin Sport N2 tires and it is nearly impossible to overcome the cornering and traction of the car, (2) An older boxster is affordable, (3) You can usually find one that is taken care of like a baby without a lot of effort (Porsche people are like that), (4) It gets more looks then most any american car will ever get.

I hope this is helpful... now go BUY ONE !

I love the curves and the shape of its design. The engine wants you to push it hard, but gladly I can easily avoid temptation by turning on the awesome stereo; it sounds like you were in a concert stadium (even with the top down). I bought my boxster as a get away toy; something my wife and I can enjoy from time to time. I love the car and I plan to keep it for as long as I can.

The car was better then expected, if the photos were clearer, I would have had less concerns about buying sight unseen.

1999 Porsche Boxster: Luv my Boxster

I have owned my 99 Boxster for about 9 months and love it. When I decided that this was what I wanted, I took the approach of educating myself on this particular type of vehicle first. I know my way around an old Chevy or Buick but was not very familiar with the Boxsters. Knowing my budget, I settled on an earlier version of the car. I spoke with a few techs that specialize in these cars to try and discover the strengths and weaknesses of each model year. I also checked consumer reports to look for reliability issues. All this brought me to decide on the 1999 model year. It is the last year of the first version (2.5 V6) and recieved high marks all around.
I love this car. You first learn to appreciate the quality and craftsmanship that goes into building these cars. From fit to finish these cars are well built. The interior is simple, surprisingly roomy, comfortable and refined. My only complaint is that the seats are a little too narrow and caused a discomfort in the middle of my back on long drives. I corrected this by using a seat back cushion. Road noise is minimal considering the relatively small size of the Boxster and I love the throaty roar of the engine behind you as the car revs out. Operating the top is very simple. The only issue I have is that you have to mindful of how the clear rear glass sometimes kinks as it folds down leaving scars on the clear vinyl. This happens when the vinyl is cold and stiff. You just have to manually help fold it down so that it does not leave a crease or split. Driving the Boxster is a treat. It goes through its gears nicely and has surprisingly good power for only 201 horse V6. I am not a real speed burner so for me the car scoots along just fine. I know others would prefer more power...so buy a 911. The downside to the Boxster has to be mantainence costs. These cars are expensive to fix. My advice is to pay a little more for a car that has been well maintained. Have it professionally inspected prior to purchase and find a shop or tech that you trust before you have to. I have no regrets with my Boxster. It is a great car and a very fun toy.

Love the new/old Boxster w/ 70,000 miles. Mechanically (so far) no issues whatsoever. Starts right up, runs smoothly and drives like it's on rails. Excellent handling as would be expected w/ the mid-engine configuration and with a surprisingly comfortable ride - you can definately feel the road but the ride is not at all harsh like many sports cars, where you feel like your spine is slowly being compressed. I drove the car home 400+ miles and would not have been any more comfortable had I been in my 3-series Bimmer.

The cabin space feels much larger than that of the Miata the Boxster is replacing. The cabin is a pleasant and comfortable place, even with the roof down at highway speeds.

The controls are relatively easy to use and everything seems to work well. The A/C works very well. One small complaint, the stereo has only front speakers and the sound is very tinny and annoying even after extensive efforts at adjusting the sound.

There are a few small issues with minor things being broken, specifically the lid on the tray in the center console, the lock to the glove box is broken and the box will not open, and the rear trunk release cable is broken.

Overall, great car for the money and no major complaints. There is nothing unusual about the flaws with the car given that it is nearly 10 years old.

My dream car come true! Drives like a dream, looks fantastic and I could hardly be happier with the purchase.

The car had a few issues when I bought it but Prestige Imports was quick to take care of them. I would buy another car from them in a heart beat.

I like everything about this car . It runs great ,looks sharp. fits in my garage and even looks better in the garage. This vehicle was better than what I expected to get for the money. The paint, leather seats and just about everything was great. I will buy my next vehicle for my wife on e-bay. All it takes is a little time to get the right deal.

This car is packed with a lot of power, however I may not be a good judge because i was driving a 4 cylinder honda minivan. I like the stylish design and since I am 5'6" room is not a problem. There are no cup holders, which is fine because that makes me not eat or drink in vehicle. This vehicle was strictly designed to be driven without distraction. I do like the radio system with hidden cd player.

The Porsche Boxster is a dream car. It rides and handles well, hugs the curves at 65, probably would take them quicker. It is very comfortable, the seats wrap around and hold you. The suspension and engine placement make this car easy to drive and handle. I love the fact that the rear spoiler raises when you attain high speeds to further assist in holding the road. The two trunks are small, but who goes shopping in a Porsche? This is a car for the open road. We live in the mountains where there are lots of turns as well as opportunities to accelerate. Watch the speedometer, this car can increase speed quickly.

I LOVE MY CAR! What more can I say.
