2003 Porsche 911

The 2002 Porsche Carrera is a very well rounded Sports car. Even though, Porsche went from their Legendary and famous air cooled Porsches to their modern water cooled Porsches, they really didn't refine the new modern water cooled cars until their 2002 model. The first 1999 to 2001 Porsche Carerras really lack in substantial power with their 3.4L engine, which usually starts degenerating after 80-90K miles. The original air cooled 911's would go 200-300K miles if well kept. However, the 2002 Porsches received a 3.6L engine and although the .2L doesn't seem like much, it's power is defiantly noticeable and the performance is greatly enhanced. If one is in the market for a 996 Porsche Carrera, we recommend spending a bit more to get a 2002 or newer Carrera. The difference, especially on a used car, is substantial and the resale value will hold up better on the 2002 and newer Porsches.
