1991 Mercury Capri

These cars in Australia are known as "Ford Capri" so if you check out ebay.com.au you could find parts (probably) although they are right hand drive here (the proper side!!)

These little cars are great to drive. However they are plauged with problems and finding parts for them at a resonable price is almost impossible. Ford motor co. disowned these cars and quit making parts for them. However to a collector like myself (I have three of these) that only means they will go up in value. I expect I'll be able to sell one of these in 20 years and make a mint!

Nice little car, neat convertible, Turbo is sufficiently peppy for in-city driving. Might be a little short on power for interstate driving. I would buy another one.

This car is so good for the price I can't believe it. I Paypaled $2369 for mine, XR2, Red, hards and soft top with a rebuilt engine(80000 miles)with a total 170000 miles. It was kept really clean inside and out including motor steam cleaning and wax, bumper were repainted, the interior was complete with the exception of a broken heater box arm, the heat was functional though, I have to move an arm beneath the dash and put the fan on 4 but it works. It zips through traffic confidently. The 132 horses feel like maybe 160, the turbo lags at low RPM but the boost puts you back in your seat. The first year is not the most popular, but I love this car. No one could be disappointed unless theirs is a lemon. I've already put 6000 miles on mine and haven't done anything but change the oil. The 1.6 Mazda GT motor is a dependable motor also used in Ford escort and Mazda 323. The supercharger on it adds nearly 40 horsepower. All this and 28 miles to the gallon driving as sanely as possible. Will become a classic American car in 2011. It has a backseat that accommodates children or small adults, or one large adult. Lots of head room. Search the net for other information, it's out there, lots of people love their Aussie Capris. I know I do, and what a killer price!
