What it's Worth - Price Range Information
Just Sold on eBay Motors
The Just Sold on eBay Motors price range represents the lowest and highest completed sale price for this vehicle on eBay Motors within the last 90 days.
Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value Range
The Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value is representative of dealers' asking prices and is the starting point for negotiation between a consumer and a dealer. This Suggested Retail Value assumes that the vehicle has been fully reconditioned and has a clean title history. This value also takes into account the dealers' profit, costs for advertising, sales commissions and other costs of doing business. The range represents asking prices that typically occur for the vehicle model throughout the United States, not all vehicles sell for the exact same price, which is why the company also offers a value range. By showing both the low and high ends of the range the company can better reflect whether a given vehicle's asking price varies widely or hardly at all. The final sale price will likely be less depending on the vehicle's actual condition, popularity, type of warranty offered and local market conditions. This range includes pricing for used vehicles, not new or late model vehicles.

I love the car. The seller did not disclose all the details about the car and I have been forced to spend $2,000.00 to make the car legal to drive in my state. The tires shown in the ad were the front tires - the rear tires were bald(no tread at all) and had to be replaced for the car to pass inspection. The brakes had to be replaced for the same reason, and the front brake rotors had to be replaced because they were too worn to turn. This cost over $1100.00. The top ( on a hard top convertible) did not work and it cost $8000.00 to fix that. The seller, of course, said that it worked when he shipped it - but if so, why would it not work after being shipped from Virginia to Missouri? The car runs great and looks beautiful, but I don't like being lied to - and there is no way to get the deadbeat, lying seller to pay for any of the things he "didn't mention" in his ad. The bottom line is that ebay gives NO buyer protection against this type of fraud -AND THEREFORE, I MUST DECIDE TO DROP MY EBAY MEMBERSHIP AND NEVER BUY THROUGH YOUR RIP OFF SERVICE AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!

WARNING TO NEW BUYERS - DO NOT BELIEVE THE ADS ON THE AUTOS - THEY ARE PROBABLY LYING ABOUT THE VEHICLE. ONCE YOU BUY THE VEHICLE, YOU ARE STUCK WITH IT!!! NO MATTER THAT YOU CAN PROVE THE SELLER A LIAR OR NOT.

I hope that most people are not ripped off on this site, but I have been too many times. I WILL NOT BE SHOPPING ON EBAY EVER AGAIN!

My review has nothing to do with the car it is more a reflection on a Company called KAARS in Trenton New Jersey, this is a junk car, they sold it with the knowledge that this was in a bad accident. I bought it a month ago and it was in the shop for 3 weeks and they determined it has a bent frame and cannot be repaired, I am in the process of contacting the Attorney General s Office in New Jersey, to try and recover my money. The absolutely worst experience I have had buying a car.

We have owned several MB's and this a great car for the small amount of outlay. My son's friend just took it "repelling" over a cliff in VA last weekend, and both the driver and passenger walked away without any injuries after hitting 4 trees. Amazing. This is definitely the real German deal and not the Alabama made imposter like our last ML. Great Mileage, Great Safety - my son will have another within the week. - Ty's Mamma

I wanted an SLK but it had to be a 1998, the first year it was made. I'm familiar with this type of vehicle and the listing advertisement met my purchase criteria, i.e.,low mileage and dealer inspected for all potential mechanical issues. A call to the seller confirmed the mileage and their claim that it was dealer inspected and EVERYTHING was rated in EXCELLENT mechanical condition. While I still plan on enjoying the vehicle the seller's claim about the mechanical condition was an out right lie as it was no where near their claims regarding dealer inspection and subsequent rating. As a result, I've put more money into mechanical repairs than expected. However, seller issues aside, the vehicle is terrific.

1998 Mercedes-Benz SLK-Class: A roadster with style

• Overall Satisfaction:
The Mercedes Benz SLK 230 is roadster with style. A great car for the price at that time that could be enjoyed for a long time. The engine performance, body style, stability and suspension are superb!! The interior color choices are also great. The BOSE sound system is an audio fine achievement for this kind of car, specially with the roof down.

One of the cuttiest things or I will say the cuttiest is the hard roof top retraction. It is a Jawdroper when you stop in a red light and just pop down your hardtop into the trunk.

The mechanical point of view for this car is great, also. There is plenty of room under the hood for maintenance and overall inspection of the engine and components.

There are some issues that should be aware of this car, if you consider to buy it.

1. The interior are very very fragile. Everything that could cause a even a lightly scratch should be avoided. The panels (glove box, center console, side panels, etc.) are factory painted!! I replaced all my panels once to give life back my interiors. There is also a much economic way to do this and it is to paint them again.

2. A lot of squeaking noises of the seats against the back and floor console. On uneven pavement this may occur also.

3. The hydraulic roof top system is very delicate. If not used for a long time (let's say around 2 months) it could give you leking problems.

4. The vacuum pump in the trunk which governs the door lock system, when rains it could be damaged and caused to shutdown the central locking system.

5. Finally the fuel sending unit has several issues of not giving you a real fuel level of gas on your car.

Despise all this the SLK 230 is a rodster with style to be, in the future, a real classic car!!!
