1984 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class

I have always wanted a Mercedes SL, especially from the late seventies or early eighties. The seller had it on ebay for a buy it now price that was very reasonable for a euro model, gray market, mercedes. I deceided to buy it now before anyone else snatched it up. I was not sure I would get to purchase another of its kind considering only 2000 were built. Considering it is 25 years old, it is in very good shape. Other than modifications that were likely done when it was brought to the United States, the car has basically been unmolested. So, there are some minor mechanical repairs needed and some interior cosmetic repairs needed. Other than that it drove very nicely and comfortably from San Antonio Texas to Carlinville, Illinois. It has a large v-8 engine so power is not something that is lacking. Once the spring comes I will be taking off the hard top and checking the condition of the rag top. Not sure whats there. the seller had never checked that he said, so it will be a mystery. I am looking forward to restoring this unique car to its original glory.

Recommend as the best collector year(1984) for the 380 SL. Drives better than any of the year production and price range are higher and continue to appreciate faster than the other year model. Good investment for a price range of $10,000 - $25,000 for excellent condition. Buy it and keep it for the next 2 years or so and you will make a good equity.
