2002 Mercedes-Benz S-Class

Unfortunately, the "Sale" fell through after almost two months. It was a nightmare. I spent over $200.00 in Fed EX fees and phone calls, and have yet to recieved my $275.00 deposit from the sellers recommended carrier.
The seller obviscated releasing the car to the carrier. Finally saying that the car had an engine "issue". Though it took a while, I did get my money back.
Real cause of the problem, In my opinion, they sold the car for too little money. Realising their mistake thy first said the car had to go to "Reconditioning", then to Mechanical repair. This took 45 days........... give me a break.
Everything happened in slow motion.
There was a problem with my initial deposit through Fed Ex. I put Street, instead of Avenue.. ($500.00) However, seller could not go to Fed Ex to pick up package, and it was returned. The story is far worse than this, but I'll spare you the details.
Solution, Sellers should be required to state that their vehicle is shipment ready immediately upon "Payment in full".
Darn did I forget to mention the $375.00 Dealer prep fee!
I was extremely king to the seller by only giving a feedback of "All's well that ends well".
The only incredible thing about this is that through the whole ordeal, my blood pressure remained normal..........WJR721

This is the biggest ticket item I've ever bought online. The second biggest was a $400 camera! I was a little nervous buying a car sight unseen. But I read the seller's feedback and decided to go for it. It was worth it. Although I had to pay for shipping and wait for almost 4 weeks to get the car, but I am really happy with the purchase. The car is awesome and I think my ego needs some time to catch up with it. I spent the whole weekend trying to figure out all the options. There are tons of them. Nice car and great shopping experience. Thanks eBay for making this possible. I finally have the car of my dreams!

I have purchased 4 vehicles on Ebay, and this one is by far the best car I have ever owned! I have only had it since Christmas so Ihave not figured out all the bells and whistles yet. The seats are very comfortable, and as one other reviewer stated it is like "riding on a cloud". Once you drive a Mercedes, it is hard to drive anything else. I still own the '99 E320 wagon that I purchased 3 years ago on Ebay and have not had any trouble with it at all. People really comment on how nice and luxurious my S500 is, and I have to say I agree with them! I could not be more pleased with my purchase!

Sometimes driving the 2002 Mercedes S-430 is like riding on a cloud. It is a solid and quiet ride and the car handles the road with confidence. The body is in great shape and it is a "looker." The Bose stereo system is great. Reception is great. I have not toyed with the adjustable suspension whereby I can make the car ride stiffer or less.

I keep discovering convenience (thus safety inducing) features, like the turn signal that blinks three times by just pressing it (as opposed to holding it steady), which helps when changing lanes. I like the one press on the window buttons to raise and lower them. The auto dampening feature on the rearview mirror works well at night when car lights are behind you, and thus you don't have to concern yourself with managing this manually. The passenger side rearview mirror lowers when you drive in reverse, which is a great helper when navigating parking spots.

There are plentiful and surprising storage areas, like under the driver and passenger seats.

My previous Benz was a 1992 300E that gave me a dependable 420,000 miles. I expect no less from this one and feels like it can deliver. Given the 10-year difference and upgrading from an E- to an S-class, the improvements are quite pleasing.

One negative is that the S-430, compared to the 1992 E-300, is sluggish when you "kick it" for acceleration. On the other hand, it feels as sure-footed at 110 MPH as it does at 70, and does not appear to be straining to maintaining fidelity at low "Autobahn" speeds.
