1997 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

Germans make some great autos! This is one of the best drivers car ever made! Smooth and very powerful V8! No wonder the Auto Review Magazines claimed it to be a Wolf in Sheeps Clothing! A rocketship. I can attest this is one fast ride. Well built and made for the long haul. I recomend it the the serious car enthusiast! Hang On!!!!

I spoke to jgriffith1979 for approx 45 min & asked everything imaginable about the car before clicking BIN. He told me (& his ad said) "everything works".

Infact, the car needed countless repairs that totaled over $3,000!!!

His response was that the couple that delivered the vehicle to me was the cause of ALL of the issues!!!

The E420 is one of the best Mercedes Benz vehicles you can own. The engine is a very powerful V-8 of 4.2 litres. Fine examples can always be found. Many are always available with as little as 50,000 miles. However high mileage examples will still provide many years of reliable service.

It is very important to make sure that all features are operational. In my opinion it is best to get versions and equipment packages that have every option available. One item I would pass on having is the rear window sun shade. These are rather worthless.

The E420 is a much better model than the E430 which was prone to having many electrical and a few mechanical problems.

The E420 has plenty of room and the seat are fully adjustable and the are three memory positions for the seats. The spare wheel is full sized. The factory stereo is simply one of the best combined with the 6 CD changer that is located in the trunck of the vehicle.

So if you are looking for a fun car to drive the E420 fills the bill in an outstanding manner. The gas mileage is not to bad either. It is great to drive around town, but really comes alive on the freeway.

When thinking about buying one, remember, get every option that is available. Makes owning one much more enjoyable.
