What it's Worth - Price Range Information
Just Sold on eBay Motors
The Just Sold on eBay Motors price range represents the lowest and highest completed sale price for this vehicle on eBay Motors within the last 90 days.
Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value Range
The Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value is representative of dealers' asking prices and is the starting point for negotiation between a consumer and a dealer. This Suggested Retail Value assumes that the vehicle has been fully reconditioned and has a clean title history. This value also takes into account the dealers' profit, costs for advertising, sales commissions and other costs of doing business. The range represents asking prices that typically occur for the vehicle model throughout the United States, not all vehicles sell for the exact same price, which is why the company also offers a value range. By showing both the low and high ends of the range the company can better reflect whether a given vehicle's asking price varies widely or hardly at all. The final sale price will likely be less depending on the vehicle's actual condition, popularity, type of warranty offered and local market conditions. This range includes pricing for used vehicles, not new or late model vehicles.

My 2005 E320 CDI now has 36,000 miles. This is the best combination of quality, comfort, economy, and style of any car that I have driven. I have had none of the quality problems that plagued MB during the 1990s. Performance is incredible for a car that has averaged 31 MPG. In town driving averages 25-27 while highway driving averages 34-38. The best mileage that I have obtained was on a hot July road trip from Dallas to Atlanta where I averaged 41 mpg while driving 75-80 mph. The hotter the weather, the better the car likes it.

The massive torque output of the engine lets the car take hills and elevated entrance ramps like they are flat roads. The only negatives are that fuel mileage in cold weather suffers 2-4 mpg over the hot summer and most service will have to be performed at an MB dealer.

Unless you live in a cold climate, if you are considering an E class or a BMW 5 series, test drive the diesel before you buy. For only $1,000 more, you will get a bargain.

Incredible car.... You can't get a better car for the money period.... this car will out run a F430 Ferrari a z51 Corvette and many other cars suited for performance only use... this is from experience...I get an average of 18 mpg city and 20-23 highway... the ride is quiet as quiet as my LS430 was and even over 120 mph the car seems stable and like a brick... the Keyless go option is a must... Personally I wouldnt drive another sedan expecting a inferiority and less expectations... the E55 is the supersedan worthy of the price tag... And now since you can buy these cars used for a faction of the original price... oh and by the way the miles don't mean didly on these cars...one with 60k can be just as nice as one with 20k miles.. just depends on the way it was treated..most cars today are built to run above 100k no problems... the quality of these cars would bring me to believe 200k miles and over is an easy task for this car...used ones 2003-2005 are in the same price range as a new IS350 Lexus (yuppie) mobile... only a fool would buy a Lexus with it's bland styling and common place components over this hand built super car even if the car was 10k more... it is a true bargain....I had a 300 SRT8 (great car( just not nearly as refined as the E55 and a Lexus LS430 (nice car) but boring as hell... and I wouldn't give this car up for anything short of a Lamborghini....I just test drove a z06 the other day i use to own a 2003 model the one i test drove was a new 2006 .... the fastest production car in the US... nice quick car... noisy as hell and maybe for a weekend ride I wouldn't think about giving up my E55 for one...highly recommended ride...now go get one and see for yourself

Very nice ride, smooth, elegant, excellent engine and smooth shifting transmission. A horrible value new, and a great buy used. The electronics aren't as good as they could be, but that's common to all German cars and not at all specific to this one. The 4matic all wheel drive system is amazing in the snow. You can buy these cars for a third of their new cost when they're only 3 years old. The gas mileage for a 302 HP V8 is about 22.5 highway at 80 mph, and 17 city. Great comfortable seats, and excellent cruise control.

This is the king of station wagons. Think of being able to haul family and all your stuff in a car that can also outperform many supercars! Mine is loaded with all of the options I was looking for. No disappointments.

E500 is one of the most popular luxury cars and it sure is the most beautiful one. The car I purchased is V8, which is little more expensive due to more fuel consumption. It is not much spacious inside. But again it is "sexy" car and I am a proud owner of my dream-car.

I like the diesel power and the luxury items on the car. I like the cruise and the cup holder. Self closing trunk, paint, and quietness of the smooth ride. I've found no problem with the car. Only concern with a used mercedes is finding a reasonable repair shop. The seller had to put on a voltage regulator prior to delivery. It was about $780 with a $80 part.

2005 Mercedes-Benz E-Class: Nerves of steel: Buying the big ticket items

What can I say? Its a Mercedes! I chose this auto because I have owned Mercedes in the past and am familiar with the vehicle. This particular car is black on black with wood trim interior. I was looking for an alternative fuel or diesel powered vehicle which narrowed my search down. However, living in New York State, there are not many used diesels from which to choose. I did my homework at the local dealer to find out what my options were to get a diesel and the prospects in my location were bleak. This sent me online. EBAY had a good selection and this car fit my criteria and had extremely low mileage.
What I did right: 1) I called to lister to find out the history of the car. He sent a car fax report and the window sticker (his photo was not that clear). I also got the reserve price. Sorry EBAY, but when you look through the cars you have missed to find that the reserve is not met then this option ceases to be of any value.
2) I did my homework and made some decisions on how much I wanted to spend and what I thought the vehicle was worth.
3) I had the financing already. It is not fair to make a seller wait too long while I procured a loan etc.

What I did wrong: I did not make my purchase contingent on satisfactory inspection of the vehicle. I was lucky in that the seller represented the car truthfully, and was honest and accommodating in all correspondence. I did not have any problems with picking the vehicle up, but if I did not like the vehicle after driving it there would have been problems.

I must say I had a bit of an anxiety attack when I bid the amount that won me the car. What had I done! I half hoped that I would be outbid, but in the end I have a sweet sweet ride, am the envy of my friends not only for the beautiful car that I drive but for the nerves of steel it took to do it.

This is my second E320. I wouldn't have purchased a second one if I wasn't pleased with the first. It is a great luxury vehicle, and has the power and performance you would expect from a 6 cylinder luxury car. I like the improvements made in terms of the interior, more ergonomically friendly cup holder, instrument panel, etc. I am 6'3" and can make adjustments to be comfortable while driving, but not sure if anyone sitting behind me would be as comfortable. The Harmon Kardon is just as good as the Bose sound system it replaces. Again, I am pleased.

Very nice overall. Tight sterring, love the dynamic seats. The cruise control stick is on the wrong side of the sterring wheel, it took me time to get use to not activating the criuse when trying to use the turn signal. The breaks are a little sensitive and the accelerator needs to be pressed hard. I guess this is what to expect from German engineering. The non touch GPS needs to be improved.
