1998 Mercedes-Benz E-Class: Very difficult and stressful transaction not cars fault

The car was sold with title this car needs nothing. Before I could even get it home I was pulled over and given three tickets and almost had the car impounded because the dealer transversed two numbers in the vin on the temp tag I was pulled from the car, made to stand in the rain for two hours and then given three tickets one for a head light the first reason for being pulled over, two loud exhuast and finally a crack windshield which was cleverly conceiled in the auction. When I contacted the seller he offered to pay for the light and give me an extended warranty - to date this hasnt happend. legal bills and expenses were all out of my pocket. Outside of the police issues the car needs a cold start sensor, rear wheel barring and compressor for air conditioner.
I bid on this car and paid all the fee's because of the statement this car needs nothing.... It is still sitting in my yard waiting for Eric and Visions to come through with the necessary warranties. He made no aplogizes for messing up the paperwork that he charged 250.00 to put together and almsot had me arrested in additon to 1700.00 is fee's to meet the courts demands.
In all I have disliked this entire deal - but have had wonderful experiences buying three range rovers, two BMW's I guess there is always a bad experiences to.
I do feel that ebay left me alone and the feedback - another custoemr had the same complaint and he Eric left feedback that he was extroting money when I believe this buyer experienced the same issues as me.... I have been with ebay for 10 years with NO neg experiences I wasnt going to let this kid ruin my feedback and sell me a lemon.

Don't buy this car. I want all of them to myself. Great ride. good acceleration. good visibility. Still easy to work on. bad rust in spots - beware.

What I do not like is from seller he lied about the whole car said it was a good car. Every thing was wrong wrong tire size on car front tires different dia. from rear tires on a 4/wheel drive car may have wrecked transfer case.Drivers mirror broken,rear view mirror broken,AC not working , same for ESP & ABS system.Wires were cut to speed sensors on wheels,cruise control does not work,right rear window went down and not back up.Tires being 245/40/18 in front upper ball joint stud put groove inside both front tires.Tires wrer slicks when I did get back home.You could see cord thru right front tire.Car needs all new tiresw and whells to be able to drive.sun roof does not work. Same goes for multicontour seats,park tronic does not work wrong front bumper for car.Engine has a bad oil leak and the lower conrol arm bushings are shot and need lower ball joints replaced. What makes me really Mad is that SGS checked this car out and stated it was ok. Only thing they said body pannels all body pannels had small problems. Yes that ESP light was on. Nothing about anything major being wrong. So if you buy on e-bay find out as much as you can about seller as possible. As for having SGS look at car I hope they do better than what they did for me .

This is a great car and was a great price. I recomend doing the title search, there are a lot of cars with past records that you don't want to buy. I have purchased 4 Mercedes and a Cadillac Limo on eBay and have been very happy with my purchases.

This car is a fairly rare car in that it has low miles for a 10 year old diesel mercedes. I keep a high end sports car as my toy. I don't like to drive it too much due to the fact that miles kill the price. So, this Mercedes Turbo Diesel is a great car to put miles on and it get very good gas mileage. I failed to read the description carefully and had a couple of surprises that had to be fixed when I received the car. These issues were clearly in the description. Joey pointed out every flaw in the car. So, always read carefully. I am very happy with the car. It an awesome car for the money. My experience with EBAY has been great. I have bought and sold five or six cars and had wonderful luck. The prices have been much better than I would have been able to buy them from the dealership or sell them as a trade. I have found that people have been honest and forthright. I don't see myself ever buying or selling a car to a dealership ever again.I decided to buy the car due to the price and mileage it had on it. Great car! Great experience.

This car handles beautifully, Very comfortable and spacious, Great for family with children, Has a smooth ride and good on gas considering its a huge vehicle, The body exterior on the car could be better, However, inside the car has all the bells and whistles.

This is a FABULOUS car!! The only thing it DOESN'T do is keep the kids from arguing who gets to sit backwards in the third row!! I've driven lots of luxury vehicles and this one does not feel like a wagon at all. I highly recommend it to other moms - plus it gets better gas mileage than any 3rd row SUV out there. With all the seats folded down you wouldn't believe the amount of room you have. Love this car!

I bought this car because of the MB diesel longevity (350-500K engines) and reliability. I run it on biodiesel and biodiesel blends (I'm in the biodiesel business), and get 30 mpg overall. The car was in my hometown, so I was able to check it out. It's built for comfort and utility. I've had to replace the driver's side window regulator (common problem with MB's). The windshield fluid reservoir has a leak, the glove box latch broke, and it needs an alignment, but otherwise, it's a great car and I love it.

To get a Mercedes diesel for the years '96 to '99, you have to go to ebay for any selection at all. My car was fully and truthfully described in the listing. The seller, Paul Kuller, was confident in his product and let me inspect and test drive before I paid. After that, I really wanted the car. The seller was great in every respect. I am nearly 70 and have been driving for more than 50 years. Of the 10 cars I've bought during the years I've been driving, this was my best buying experience and the best value for my money. Ebay is a good place to buy a care, especially one of limited availability. On the other hand, sellers should fully describe and fully disclose and be patient with buyers like me who laid out $16,000 -- far more than the usual ebay purchase.
