I've come from owning 5 BMWs & was looking for a change - something more mature, yet sporty. At the time I was looking at the 2000+ BMW M3, but the price was too far out of my ballpark, plus the values are destined to fall fast. The CLK430 was a good alternative, considering the engine is a 4.3L V8 pumping out nearly 300 horsepower and TONS of torque. If your tires are not good, expect the traction control to keep you from accelerating too quickly in wet conditions. Immediately after purchasing, I had to get rid of the tired stock suspension in preference for Bilstein Sport shocks and H&R sport springs. I recommend installing yourself if you have an air-wrench and your own tool set. I also swapped out the small 17" AMG wheels for wider 19" Brabus Monoblock replica wheels. They look simply amazing, and you can get them on ebay for a good price. Features I really enjoy, are the integrated cupholder into the center console, variable windshield wiper speeds, remote trunk pop, powerful engine, smooth transmission, electric rear sunshade, power-headrests and glass moonroof. This is ideal for a mature person who needs comfort, yet a sporty feel, and lots of power on demand without portraying itself as a fast car! There are problems here and there, such as the brake light switch that needs to be replaced.. and pixels that fail on the instrument cluster. Overall it's a great looking and performing car for the price.
