What it's Worth - Price Range Information
Just Sold on eBay Motors
The Just Sold on eBay Motors price range represents the lowest and highest completed sale price for this vehicle on eBay Motors within the last 90 days.
Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value Range
The Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value is representative of dealers' asking prices and is the starting point for negotiation between a consumer and a dealer. This Suggested Retail Value assumes that the vehicle has been fully reconditioned and has a clean title history. This value also takes into account the dealers' profit, costs for advertising, sales commissions and other costs of doing business. The range represents asking prices that typically occur for the vehicle model throughout the United States, not all vehicles sell for the exact same price, which is why the company also offers a value range. By showing both the low and high ends of the range the company can better reflect whether a given vehicle's asking price varies widely or hardly at all. The final sale price will likely be less depending on the vehicle's actual condition, popularity, type of warranty offered and local market conditions. This range includes pricing for used vehicles, not new or late model vehicles.

1985 Mercedes-Benz 300-Series: If you don't know about cars, don't buy used on ebay

This 1985 300D Turbo Mercedes was converted to run on vegetable oil - which is why I bought this car. It was represented as being road-worthy and driveable from Tampa to Washington, DC. I spent 2 weeks in Daytona Beach, FL having $4K worth of work done on ther car. I made it home finally and it had to go to the shop again b/c the window wouldn't roll back up and it was about to rain. Two weeks later, the transmission went. After 2 months of owning this car, I have been able to drive it a total of 8 days. I got it for $3800 (Buy it Now was $6500) and have since put $11K into it. I actually don't mind, b/c the engine and the body are fine and it is converted to vegetable oil (not that I've been able to use that feature yet!), but I just wish the car had not been represented as being "road worthy."

This is a great car - as long as it has been taken care of.. The engine may be bullet proof, but remember, 150-200,000 miles have taken it's toll on the rest of the car.
This was the last MB without a computer. I agree with other reviewers. A great car if you can "turn a wrench" yourself. I can't and don't have the time.
Get to know a vacuum pump - It's the reason the doors won't lock or engine won't shut off.
Also, get use to body rust and wet interiors and floors. It comes with european 80's cars. By the way, make sure your tank is clean enough to run biodiesel.
I was sold a "creampuff" with nothing needed (only 102,000 miles). This shyster told me I could drive it to Seattle from Florida "no problem". Get an inspection - NO MATTER WHAT! Also - Carfax is great as long as things are reported to Carfax. $4700.00 for the car, $1000.00 shipping & $2K SO FAR IN REPAIRS.
Be careful when you buy on Ebay. It's an expensive endeavour to make a "silk purse out of a sow's ear"

The car showed up in the same condition as the seller mentioned. It was a good buy but a bit on the pricey side for the condition that it was in. It does run well and the seller put new tires on the vehicle before i had it shipped. Overall the seller was wonderful and very accommodating!!!

As for this specific car the seller was misleading to say the least and I would be hesitant to buy another car from unitedsport1. I've had to fix and replace many items that were supposedly fine. I bought the car to run it on biodiesel which is better for the environment than petroleum diesel and can be made from used vegetable oil. In general the car has a different feel from most other cars in that it seems your floating over the road. The ride seems soft until you turn the wheel abruptly and and instantly the car responds. While slow off the line, there is good acceleration once the turbo kicks in and these cars are great for cruising on the highway and gets great gas mileage considering it weighs almost 3700 lbs. The interior is simple but elegant and the layout has everything where you need it and is very comfortable and has plenty of room. With the back seats folded down the cargo space is huge. The quality in most respects is outstanding and the features very advanced considering it's 23+ years old and not outdated at all.

1985 Mercedes-Benz 300-Series: Great car but it didn't come that way

I purchased this car to convert to a veggie oil car. For that purpose it is fantastic. Otherwise, the car was entirely misrepresented and sold almost fraudulently . There were MAJOR mechanical defects in the car . There was over $ 3500 of required and necessary mechanical repairs to make the car safe to drive ,like replacing the entire front end . There are many worn items and components that will take further $$ to find and fix; seat belts, glove box, sun roof seals, a/c components and vents .

As far as being a Mercedes diesel it is a great car mechanically , it needed all new belts and hoses too ,and had lots of leaks . I am pleased to have a car that can be converted to this non carbon foot print type of fuel but it took a lot of work to get this car out on the road safely .

I bought a 22 year old Mercedes Benz as a project, second weekend car. I have been very happy over all with the car. The sellers make the transaction very smooth. I was impressed with the whole E Bay process. The car is in GREAT shape for a car that is 22 years old. The paint job is newer and the interior is extreamly clean and is excellent shape.
