What it's Worth - Price Range Information
Just Sold on eBay Motors
The Just Sold on eBay Motors price range represents the lowest and highest completed sale price for this vehicle on eBay Motors within the last 90 days.
Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value Range
The Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value is representative of dealers' asking prices and is the starting point for negotiation between a consumer and a dealer. This Suggested Retail Value assumes that the vehicle has been fully reconditioned and has a clean title history. This value also takes into account the dealers' profit, costs for advertising, sales commissions and other costs of doing business. The range represents asking prices that typically occur for the vehicle model throughout the United States, not all vehicles sell for the exact same price, which is why the company also offers a value range. By showing both the low and high ends of the range the company can better reflect whether a given vehicle's asking price varies widely or hardly at all. The final sale price will likely be less depending on the vehicle's actual condition, popularity, type of warranty offered and local market conditions. This range includes pricing for used vehicles, not new or late model vehicles.

2006 Lexus RX: Is the RX the Best Small Luxury SUV on the market?

My wife and I are on our second RX model. We first drove a 2003 RX300 on a 39 month lease and it was absolutely great. Nice plush interior, soft leather, good quality trim with very elegant wood accents. The RX is easy to drive especially with the very easy to use controls on the 6 inch LCD display.

When it was time for us to trade-in our RX, we considered keeping it. We knew it had value as it was actually worth more that what we owed on it according to the Kelley Blue Book "black" value. In other words, the lowest value given to a vehicle is its "wholesale" value or "black" value. Since this value still exceeded the residual balance we owed on the RX, we presumed others felt the same as we did. Hence the value of the RX was high compared to that of others.

Well, having another child on the way, we wanted to stick with something new. By new, I mean something we didn't want to take a chance with regards to potential repairs and maintenance and of course we wanted to upgrade to an RX with navigation (this was our only regret was buying the 03 RX without navigation). With this, we decided to purchase a new 2006 RX.

Since our local dealer was giving great lease rates on the new RX hybrids, we decided to jump on the opportunity. So, now we own a 2006 RX400h. Oh my, what a difference compared to a conventional RX. My wife is a teacher as she really wanted to do the right thing an buy something that had decent gas mileage. Well, she got her gas mileage and I got my power. The new RX400h would beat what I currently drive (2006 IS250) any day of the week.

Since then we've taken multiple trips from Dallas which cover at least 1,000 miles on each. It's a great feeling knowing that when you find yourself cornered between the big rigs, just a punch of the pedal and your out of there! The acceleration is that of a sports car. Not kidding. Our Lexus RX400h has the Continuously Variable Transmission, CVT which is just a fancy acronym meaning it doesn't shift gears. It means you've got constant power when you want it as it takes advantage of the peak power band.

So now that I've got a Lexus hybrid, I now have my eyes on the GS450h or even the flagship, the LS600h!

By golly I think Toyota got it right.

I've bought this Lexus RX400h because the pre owned certified program of Lexus stands for good quality of the car. In addition, the price was very reasonable for a that well equipped car.
Now, what to say about a car like a Lexus RX400h. In my eyes, it's one of the most advanced cars you can buy. Where else do you get 29mi/gallon in a 4WD, 2 ton SUV?
If you accelerate, you feel like in a plane during takeoff, just without the roaring sound of the turbines. The car is absolutely quiet under all driving conditions.
It's incredible how many electronic gimmicks Lexus packed under the hood: Back up camera, navigation, bluetooth for the cell phone and satellite radio are just some examples.
For me as a European, the suspension of the car is a little soft. And I wonder why Lexus didn't implement a switch (soft or hardware) for changing between imperial (miles/Fahrenheit) and metric (km/Celsius) system.
The deal was very smooth, the communication with the seller (Nalley Lexus in Roswell, Georgia) very good and the car as good as new. The seller made it very easy to deal with him, even though I was not experienced in buying cars over Ebay.

The deal fell through only because the vehicle was misrepresented to us. It was advertised as an all-wheel drive and when the dealer actually went out to the lot to look at it it was a two wheel drive. Unfortunately our plane tickets were already booked to fly and pick it up. For anyone wanting a two wheel drive I think it will be a great vehicle.

We bought the Lexus RX400h because the price was good for the miles on it. We probably paid half because it was used. We are always on the lookout for hybrid cars and this one fit the bill nicely. It was also fully loaded and had cargo space and a back up camera, and leather interior, premium stereo, sunroof, automatic power liftgate, and twice the gas mileage of our previous car. My only wish is that there was more seating available on the same footprint and a factory DVD would have been nice. Because it is a hybrid, it is very quiet and you have to remind others that when they turn on the ignition, it takes about 30 seconds before you hear the engine kick in. Lexus marketing needs to put the word hybrid on the car because 400h is not intuitive to the consumer that this is a hybrid. Now if they could make a hybrid minivan, that would be even more awesome because I love the automatic side doors.

The vehicle was exactly as described and the purchase price was a bargain compared to what was available locally. I would definitely purchase from this Seller again. Thanks you for a very positive experience.

Pretty car, but the learning curve is steep.(ie, Navigation System)
Check the cars tires Carefully. Unusual wear means the car is out of alignment, which happens alot on these new vehicles.
You will need to use "brand" gas, as it gives much better mileage, and the cheap gas leaves a byproduct behind, interfering with your mileage and efficiency. So you pay more to get high MPG.
All the rest is true. It is luxurious, fun to drive, and a LEXUS!
