Cheap import? Of course it is. I bought mine new, locally, three and a half years ago. Regularly maintained (don't go by the manual's maintenance schedule). Going on 85,000 miles, too. Problems so far: chassis acceleration sensor replaced at about 18,000 miles (under warranty) and proportioning valve for the brakes several months ago. The only other time it was in the shop was to have the timing belt replaced at 65,000 miles (this is normal, and you better not ignore it...the Kia has an interference engine. Better to spend $300 than $2000 for a new engine if it breaks.) Replaced the factory Hanook tires at 58,000 miles and the front brake pads at about 65,000 miles. Oh, and the rear window washer's out. It's not a car for big people...I'm 5'6", and the seat's all the way back. I get about 35mpg highway, maybe 28 city. No cracks in the interior plastic, no tears in the upholstery. Tia Kia has been a good car...several 1000+ mile trips without incident, although I did have to reset the computer when I went to New Mexico last year (she didn't like the high altitude). It's a bit underpowered with the a/c on, but it's only a 1.8 liter, and gets me from Point A to Point B. That's all I ask.
