2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee

I bought this car for my daughter. She drove a Honda Accord and felt to low in that car. I looked around and then went to Ebay motors and found this vehicle. I flew to Florida to pick it up and drove it back to Virginia. I usually have trouble with my back and legs driving for long distances, but this vehicle has the best seats I have ever sat in. There was no road fatigue. The vehicle is fully loaded and I got a great deal(I think) on it.Recomend it highly.

Beware of purchasing a vehicle on Ebay!! Do not think that the protection plan will help you. The protection plan only covers the engine, transmission, frame and body. The seller can lie about anything else and get away with it! The ad for the Jeep I bought said "only flaw is a Wal Mart ding in the right front fender". The cassette deck was broken, air conditioner does not work, brakes were worn into the rotars, sections of rubber door seal was cut out, lock system does not work, the power driver seat did not work, shocks were bad, it had the wrong oil filter and the hood shocks were broken, and it was missing pieces for the roof rack. The seller said too bad, give me bad feedback if that makes you feel better. Ebay suggests filing a police report (laughable). You have more recourse if you buy a cookie jar!

I bid on this 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo because I had been looking for one like it for a long time. After I won the auction I immediately contacted the seller and gave him my debit card number so i could put the $500 deposit down. The next day I went to the bank and got a cashier's check for $2599, the remainder due on the Jeep. I sent the check off that day. Two days later I got an Ebay message stating that the Jeep had been sold on their lot and it was no longer available. I immediately went to the bank and put a stop payment on the cashier's check. I contacted the dealer and he said he would refund my money into my checking account and send the check back when they received it. He also refunded me the $30 I had to pay to put a stop payment on the check. Overall this was a very scary experience of buying a car over the internet. For a week I was worried about my money. Although I did get my money back I would not recommend anyone buying a car from these people.

I purchased my 2004 JGC here on eBay 3.5 years ago with 106,000 miles on him. Last month I turned 204,000 miles. The owner before me maintained it religiously, and what I have come to find out is that the sooner you switch to synthetics, the longer your Jeep will run. This Jeep runs as strong and comfortable at 200K miles as it did when I purchased it.

I drive in extreme winter weather, and he handles like a dream. The ride is exquisit, much much much better than the Grand Cherokees that came in 05, 06, 07 & 08 (I have not even come close to a newer model, because of the ridiculous price tag. In fact, by my research the 2000-2004 models are amongst the most reliable Jeeps ever built. I have put less than $1500 (not including tires) in this Jeep since I've owned it...100K miles of trouble free driving....YES!

I highly recommend these vehicles. A couple of things you should know when looking:

1) Make sure the heater works on both sides of the car BEFORE you buy. Don't let a seller tell you it is an inexpensive fix, there is a plastic piece that breaks in the heating system that costs $3.00 to replace...with $900 of labor.

2) The 4.7 V8 is the choice of engine. The 6's last a long time too, but are underpowered. My V8 gets 20-22 HWY and 15-17 in town no matter how aggressive I drive.

3) Ask the seller if there is any fluctuation in RPMs when cruising down the freeway. If so, its a $25 easy fix, so don't let a Jeep dealer tell you its huge.

4) Make sure to check 4WD low and listen for any noise in the transmission. These systems are near flawless, but sometimes have issues in 4WD low if they are not used once in awhile, so when you get yours, use it once in awhile.

You can still get one of these here on eBay in good shape for less than $10K and you will NEVER duplicate the ride, styling, longevity with any other used vehicle.

Buy one.

I like how clean and detailed the vehicle seem is for its age. Once I got in it to drie it home, I could not hae been more pleased with its performance. I would definately buy another vehicle rom Lee and Ted Smith at Today Auto.

I was a bit surprised when I received the car because in the description it was desribed as being in much better condition than it was. The tires were said to be in good condition. They could not have been any balder. I had tospend $950 on 4 new tires. The car was said to have a full size spare which it did ...Bald as ever. The details said the car had 2 key and kabobs, I only received 1 and had to pay $240.00 to get another one. The car had alot more dings and scrathes on it than were desribed. I took it to a professional detailer ($200) and they got a few of them out but alot still remain. The front driver seat I could tell from the pictures had a little wear and tear on it but the description said no rips..The front seat has a rip and I am having that fixed ($240) so it wont rip anymore.

Over all I was very disappointed in the Jeep but I am taking the money and time to make it look like what was described in the ebay ad. Will not buy from this individual again.

I love my Jeep Grand Cherokee, it is in excellent condition. I would recommend to anyone who is looking for a SUV. Runs great with alot of features. I feel very safe in this JEEP and enjoy driving it. My grandson also loves mom mom's car

i like jeeps and this is the last year with classic looking body style. it went good and i'm happy with the car.
