What it's Worth - Price Range Information
Just Sold on eBay Motors
The Just Sold on eBay Motors price range represents the lowest and highest completed sale price for this vehicle on eBay Motors within the last 90 days.
Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value Range
The Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value is representative of dealers' asking prices and is the starting point for negotiation between a consumer and a dealer. This Suggested Retail Value assumes that the vehicle has been fully reconditioned and has a clean title history. This value also takes into account the dealers' profit, costs for advertising, sales commissions and other costs of doing business. The range represents asking prices that typically occur for the vehicle model throughout the United States, not all vehicles sell for the exact same price, which is why the company also offers a value range. By showing both the low and high ends of the range the company can better reflect whether a given vehicle's asking price varies widely or hardly at all. The final sale price will likely be less depending on the vehicle's actual condition, popularity, type of warranty offered and local market conditions. This range includes pricing for used vehicles, not new or late model vehicles.

I bought this Jeep for my wife and we both love it. I flew out to Ohio and spent the weekend in Michigan before driving 12 hours back home. I reluctantly turned it over to her after spending a week cleaning it, registering it, and doing whatever I could to procrastinate, I didn't want to give it up. The Overland model is so nice and comfortable, I drove a Limited before and this is even nicer.

This is the third Jeep we have had and the third one that needed bearings replaced in the rear, that is the only reason I gave it a 4 for reliability. For some reason these things eat up pinion bearings. For those of you who aren't familiar with this, they are cheap parts but very labor intensive to replace. Most do it yourselfers are not equipped to perform this job at home so it will cost you 4-5 hundred to get them replaced along with the other rear end bearings while they are in there.

Anyway, these are great vehicles. Not the best gas mileage but not too bad considering the size of the truck and the fact that it is an eight cylinder with full-time four wheel drive. I drove home through a really bad snowstorm in Pennsylvania and the Quadra Drive was awesome, cars were going off the road all over the place and I just flew right through.

2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee: Great truck, but had to fix the ride!!

I have put 200,000 miles on a 2002 Grand Cherokee 2x4 and this truck is a dream in every way but the ride, way too stiff for me. I called Monroe Tech Support and asked if they could help me fix this issue, and the guy laughed and said "they get calls from Cherokee owners all the time". He recommended the basic Monroe-Matic Plus shocks, I had them installed and WOW, now this Cherokee rides like a Cadillac, (oh sorry, I guess I should say, "a Chrysler 300")! I have no problem on the highway, I tow classic Jeeps on trailers with no problems, (total load, trailer and vehicle: 4,000-5,000lbs). Full-size tractor/trailers pass me doing 80+, and you don't even know they are there. Crosswinds, no problem. This is still a very stable and safe truck on the highway. I have had no major problems with the Cherokee, I replaced the driver window mech at about 95,000 miles, the rest of the truck is super and still runs like new. The seats are very comfortable, I replaced the factory speakers with JBLs and the radio with a Pioneer CD receiver and now have great sound inside a very quite and smooth going Jeep. The Cherokee is a great truck for serious drivers that want a safe, reliable work horse, and I get 17/20MPG average. And now you can even have a smooth ride if it suits your needs for just a few $$ extra. Happy driving.

Bought a 2002 Grand Cherokee Overland on EBay, and proceeded to drive it across the country. Had to remove an afermarket theft protection system that malfunctioned, but otherwise the Jeep performed flawlessly. This is a very comfortable and roadworthy Jeep, but also has the underpinnings for excellent off-road capability. All that capability (V-8, heavy-duty suspension, all-time 4WD) comes at a price, and fuel consumption is high. When I bought the Jeep, gas prices were averaging $2.50, now around $4.50, and around town mileage for this beast is around 14-15 mpg. This Jeep had a year left to run on the warranty, which was fortunate, because there have been a number of little glitches. First the driver side window stopped functioning (broken regulator) and two weeks later the passenger side front window did the same thing--stopped working, then the window glass dropped out of view. This seems to be a common problem on this Jeep model, there is a little plastic piece in the window system that breaks frequently. Also, I hear that the dual-zone climate control system is a little sketchy, though I've had no problems yet. Otherwise it's a beautiful machine. Generally fun to drive, with good handling for an SUV. If you get the high-output 4.7 V-8, be prepared for neck-snapping acceleration and the accompanying abysmal gas mileage.

I love the power 4.7H.O.Quadra drive2.In the snow absolutely awsome even with 4 season tires.Offroad climbes a 45degree hill with absolutely no problem.Raced against a 2002 mustang GT convertible with a standard tranny from 1 light to the other and we were exactly the same speed, the only modifications on my truck are a P flow and a thrush glasspack muffler.I've owned now for 3-1/2years and I still love it.I use my truck every day to go to work shopping etc. It's a grand cherokee limited fully loaded exept for adjustable pedals. It's a suv that reacts like a sports car.

This was my first SUV purchase which I made because I wanted a vehicle that would be able to tow my boat. Considering it is a 2002 model with only 39,300 miles at the time of purchase, it was a great deal. It runs extremely well, is very comfortable and gives us excellent vision when operating the vehicle which was always a complaint with me before with a normal sized vehicle. It handled extremely well in heavy snow and mud on a trip to Vermont. We did notice that the braking is a little "bumpy", but when I spoke with my mechanic, he suggested that this is not uncommon with Jeeps. I will be taking it in to see if he can fix. The only downside that I can see is that it does use more fuel than I am accustomed. All in all, I am very pleased with my purchase.

Love the look of my Jeep Grand Cherokee. Beautiful lines, sporty yet professional, tough yet comfortable.

Other than the A/C system blend door issue ($2000 repair on just about every Grand Cherokee on the planet) and the brakes (pulsating reoccurs every 20,000 miles), these are rock solid dependable.
