2002 Jaguar X-Type: Jaguar X-Type better than most think
05/05/09
I bought this 2002 Jaguar X-Type in March of 2009 with only 47K miles. I bought this Jag for my wife, we recently moved to snow country and I wanted her to have a AWD car instead of a RWD Mustang for winter driving. The nice thing about this Jag is that it comes with all the safety features. AWD, Traction Control, Front, Side, and Curtain airbags, and ABS brakes. The car handles really great in both summer and winter driving, if you put a set of snow tires on this car it handles like it is on rails. The heated seats and heated mirrors are great. The leather and wood are also wonderful and appear to hold up really well. The only issue I have had with this car is the cruise control, it has needed fixing twice in the last 45 days, other than that no issues to report. My big complaints about the car is the speakers are not that great, the speakers in my Ford Expedition are actually much better, a bit of a surprise for a luxury car. The rear seats are a bit small, but are best for shorter trips for adults. Other than that this is really a wonderful car, and I find allot of the reviews of the X-Type to be unfair. It in no way feels, drives, or looks like a Ford, take it from a Ford owner!! The car handles great and the performance is not bad for a 2.5L V6. My wife has been getting 25-28 MPG with a mixture of road and freeway driving. I really would recommend this car to anyone that is looking for a small luxury sedan.
