What it's Worth - Price Range Information
Just Sold on eBay Motors
The Just Sold on eBay Motors price range represents the lowest and highest completed sale price for this vehicle on eBay Motors within the last 90 days.
Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value Range
The Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value is representative of dealers' asking prices and is the starting point for negotiation between a consumer and a dealer. This Suggested Retail Value assumes that the vehicle has been fully reconditioned and has a clean title history. This value also takes into account the dealers' profit, costs for advertising, sales commissions and other costs of doing business. The range represents asking prices that typically occur for the vehicle model throughout the United States, not all vehicles sell for the exact same price, which is why the company also offers a value range. By showing both the low and high ends of the range the company can better reflect whether a given vehicle's asking price varies widely or hardly at all. The final sale price will likely be less depending on the vehicle's actual condition, popularity, type of warranty offered and local market conditions. This range includes pricing for used vehicles, not new or late model vehicles.

2006 Honda Civic: 2006 Honda Civic LX -Outstanding Gas Mileage, Fun Car

• Overall Satisfaction:
I bought my Civic last fall because I like the new body style and I wanted a good value on a car that gets great gas mileage and also has lots of safety features.

Here is what I think after 1 year:

• It’s a fun car to drive. I do a good deal of canyon driving and there is plenty of torque to keep my speed in most situations.
• This car is great in the snow. I’ve driven it with chains in sticky situations, and I’d rather be in my civic than a 4X w/ no chains. I think Honda is generally a good car in cold climates.
• I’m not sold on the “drive by wire” system – I kind of prefer my ’91 Acura in terms of throttle feel.
• Car handles really well –but I can’t wait till the tires are worn enough to justify new ones.
• I really like the fact that my hood is smaller than my windshield. It may seem a bit sketchy, but the visibility for a wide range of drivers is outstanding.
• Go for the manual transmission! Honda states that the automatic is superior to the manual in terms of gas mileage, but I live in an area with plenty of hills and I still push up to about 35 - 39 mpg with the stick shift.
• At first I did not really like the sound of the stereo –maybe I’m just used to it, but it seems ok. Honda could do better w/ the stereo but it’s not as though you’re paying a premium price.
• Interior is cool – I’m a sucker for the two tone dash a la the old Acuras. I love the heads up speedometer and dash.
• The “Latch” system for my kid’s car seat works seamlessly and adds yet another layer of assurance along with the many airbags.
• The kid has tried her best to muck up the back seat, but so far it cleans really well.

I’ve driven a comparable Toyota and I prefer the Honda overall –especially if you’re over 6'

If you can pick an ’06 Civic up for around that 15k mark –I say you can’t do much better for the $.

2006 Honda Civic: 2006 Honda Civic- phantom car

Wanted to buy this Honda - great mileage at a great price. Unfortunately, the dealer sold it on the lot the same day I won it. I was very disappointed in this outcome. The dealer tells me he is keeping his eye out for a comparable deal (those offered thus far were NOT the same value). I'll let you know if the Charlotte Honda dealer makes good on their commitment.

2006 Honda Civic: Buying a salvage title vehicle

We bought this car for our daughter that is attending college. We are big Honda fans and love the lines of the newer models.
We wanted safty and reliabilty that Honda is famous for but could not afford 11-15 K price tag.
A salvage vehicle made sense for us. There is minor fit and finish issues and the owner smoked leaving burns in the seats but no odor.
The car will be parked outside in parking lot so perfect is'nt our priority. Overall car is great for the money(7,300)
You cannot expect perfection when you buy a car that has been repaired or rebuilt. But we have a very nice looking safe and reliable newer car for our daughter to depend on.

I purchased the car first for the mileage. I live in Houston and drive 50 - 75 miles most days. On the highway I maintain the mileage at about 43-46 mpg if I keep the speed under 70. If you keep your speed in the 55-62 range, you can get more than 50 mpg. In stop and go traffic the mileage will be 39-41. Fast starts repeatedly will drop the mileage significantly. I have had few problems and most have been addressed conveniently and with satisfaction at the dealership. I find that the maintenance packages are somewhat expensive and can take several hours longer than the service reps tell you. Overall, the car has lived up to and beyond my expectations.

For a hybrid the car drives very nice, not the power of a v8, but if you are looking for a roomy and well layed out car this is for you. I would highly rocommend this car to family and friends. And again remember it is a honda so it will run for 200K plus miles. I am very happy wityh the product.

I bought a used SI in Jan. It had 7400 miles on it, i now have 13000. So ive decided to write a review. I love this car, everything about. I'm 36 and no young kid anymore. But i must say ive always had a love for cars and with this car i truly love to drive it, regular and hard, this engine was made to rev. Performance aside, the stereo is easily the best stock radio i have ever come across, blows my buddy's Audi A4 Bose system away. The seats are so comfortable, im 5'11" 195 and for me they are perfect! You might here all Si have a 3rd gear prob. mine doesnt seem to have it, ive never had it pop out nor has it grinded. Dont know if the previous owner ever put a better tranny fluid in it but i dont seem to have the problem, as of yet anyway. As for rattles dont have any of them either. So i would recommend this car, no problem. This is my 3rd civic, ive had a 97' DX, 99' Si, and this 06'. Its an amazing car for what i paid.

2006 Honda Civic: Honda Civic Hybrid real mileage

The Civic Hybrid is a spartan vehicle in the area of interior appointments. It has manual seat adjustments and cloth seats. Back seat would comfortably seat 2 adults, I doubt 3 adults. No cup holders in the back.

Gas Mileage: Claims are 50 mpg highway and 45 city. This may be possible in controlled laboratory conditions, the real world mileage is 40 mpg highway and 37 city. I live in South Texas where you have to have the A/C on which may affect the mpg. We do a LOT of stop & go driving in Houston. While this vehicle does not get the advertised mpg, it gets great mileage. It takes a little time to get used to the engine shutting off when you stop at a light and the slight hesitation to power back up when you take your foot off the brake. The radio and all controls are in easy reach. Honda has an 8 year 80,000 mile warranty on the IMA battery. Overall a good solid car for commuting and helping on gas mileage.

Love the gas mileage of this vehicle. Got about 42mpg on my way back from Baltimore to New Orleans. Getting around 31mpg in the city. New Body style is nice and engine is quiet. I have heard people talk about the road noise of the new model civic, but I had no complaints. I thought it was very quiet.

2006 Honda Civic: CNG is great
05/31/08 (updated 06/04/08)

The main motivator here was to stop paying $150/wk for gas driving a LandCruiser SUV. The GX has cut that to 1/10 ie $15/wk by CNG costing 1/4 per GGE (gasoline gallon equivalent) and mileage being about 2.5 times that of the Cruiser. The other benefits are that CNG is very clean burning (CH4 is mostly hydrogen!). The engine should last a long long time.

Its environmentally friendly too. If you believe in Global Warming (I don't, because of my education, I know it's awful science) you might like that carbon emission is low - but ha! water is a greenhouse gas too! Can't win this one.

Anyway, the civic is roomy for 4 people, quiet, fun to drive and handles well. These were pleasant surprises for me. I really enjoy this car.

The only downsides are the availability of CNG, range, vehicle cost and trunkspace. Here in OK we produce a lot of NG and so ONG has filling stations all over the state (40 in all) - .909 per GGE!. The US now imports LNG too so the price is pretty stable. Gas and NG do not necessarily track each other. I can't see NG ever exceeding gas so it's a winner for cost. Locations of CNG station are on the net (eia website) so you can plan ahead. Many surrounding states do not have public CNG. CNG takes up more space than gas (about 2.4 times) so the tanks take up 1/2 the trunk space. Also, the range is limited to about 160 combined 210 highway. But, fill-ups are FAST! Because the CNG is under pressure you spend less time at pumps. Extra tanks are about $1000 or more uninstalled. I have solved the trunk space problem with a trailer hitch and have a rack that fits it. So, I can throw a huge cooler in the rack and go to Sam's Club. Or carry the kids larger stuff in it. At the current fuel price difference, I will save in gas the vehicle price difference in just 1 year. And, insurance is less.

Anyway, I don't think hybrids are a smart deal. They are too complex, heavy, expensive and they still run on gas. I have gone CNG and think its great.
