2000 GMC Sierra 1500

I have had a need for a truck for about 9 months before buying this vehicle. We were able to raise about $8000 to purchase a vehicle as missionaries in upstate NY. With limited funds available we had to be very careful about what we bought. For the price I felt that GMC/Chevy trucks are the best for the money. We purchased this vehicle with 94,000 miles on it and it was in excellent shape. It drives and handles like new. It feels like a solid truck. The transmission is still in good shape as is the engine. It blows no oil and there are no engine lights on in the vehicle. I have already hauled heavy loads with it and towed a trailer loaded with wood. It did not have a problem either way. It handles snowy situations beautifully with the auto 4WD option as well as the hi-lo 4WD. The seats are very comfortable even for long trips. There is a good adjustable lumbar in the front seats, and the seats adjust just about any way you like them. Overall, I am very pleased with this vehicle. The only let down I have with this truck is the fuel economy. I previously owned a Suburban with the 5.7 liter engine. With it loaded with six people and luggage we were able to get 17 MPG. With this truck empty, I get about 15 MPG with the 5.3 liter engine. I think this engine, as far as GM is concerned was not a good replacement for the 5.7 liter engine. There is too much of a sacrifice of HP and fuel economy. I think GM should reconsider going back to the larger, more fuel efficient 5.7 liter workhorse for the power plant. It makes more sense to me. However, I have not owned one of the newer "8x4" cylinder engines. Apparently, their fuel economy is much better. Maybe that was the answer GM was looking for. The fuel economy of this truck is the only con that I have with this truck.

i bought the sierra according to the desciption the seller made ididn see beore the purchas.ishipped it over sease to jordan, the truck has too many dent scatches on left side missing inirior parts handels over the rear doors
wholes on dash board major electrical broblem caused by cutting wires under the fuse box micanical problem noise coming fro difrantial need to repalce the rear axel. i didnot send feed back the truck tolk 70 days to arrive
i emailed the seller he reply on some of the problem not all saying it is
solid truck
