1955 Ford Thunderbird

On June-21-09 I placed the winning bid on 1955 Ford T-BIRD. I bid $25,000.00 on the car.From the pictures and words it looked like a fine car with good maintance. I started to fly out to Pheonix Arizona to see the car but health problems kept me at home. I had it shipped to Brookwood Alabama. It would not crank. Had to use tractor to pull it to house. Had to pour gas down carb to crank it. Engine barely ran. Noticed they were selective with thier pictures, they didnt show its bad spots which were numerous.Crankcase had gas in it so I put new fuel pump on it and changed oil. Didn't have any cranking power. It had a 12 volt starter on it from 4 cylinder Ford tractor. Carb. was almost past repair. Electric seat and windows wouldn'work. Speedometer and wipers would not work. It smokes when it runs.Replaced power steering cylinder,packing was out of one on car.None of lights inside would work. Brakes bad. I have spent $3,000.00 on parts and am not thru yet. I had heard of people like that on Ebay, but had never run into them before. Never buy anything of high value without LOOKING at it. They have ruined my life and they will ruin yours if you don't LOOK at it. Joe Pinegar tparts16 ...............

I look to purchase a classic vehicle every year, on behalf of, or for one of my favorite non-profits the Montana Auto Museum, which then raffles the car off as a fundraiser.
This "baby Bird" a '55 Thunderbird roadster in red, with a white fiberglass porthole coupe top, is a real winner and a good part of my pleasure in the purchase is the great communication and cooperation we received from Thiel Motors, DeWitt, Iowa, in its purchase. They even recommended the transport company for us!
The car is beautiful, more than eye candy, it is a classic which will be very attractive to classic car collector, baby boomers, and the general public at large.
E-Bay came through again with a good deal properly recommended and at a great price. We also have a new friend in Iowa at Thiel Motors. Thanks e-bay!
