What it's Worth - Price Range Information
Just Sold on eBay Motors
The Just Sold on eBay Motors price range represents the lowest and highest completed sale price for this vehicle on eBay Motors within the last 90 days.
Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value Range
The Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value is representative of dealers' asking prices and is the starting point for negotiation between a consumer and a dealer. This Suggested Retail Value assumes that the vehicle has been fully reconditioned and has a clean title history. This value also takes into account the dealers' profit, costs for advertising, sales commissions and other costs of doing business. The range represents asking prices that typically occur for the vehicle model throughout the United States, not all vehicles sell for the exact same price, which is why the company also offers a value range. By showing both the low and high ends of the range the company can better reflect whether a given vehicle's asking price varies widely or hardly at all. The final sale price will likely be less depending on the vehicle's actual condition, popularity, type of warranty offered and local market conditions. This range includes pricing for used vehicles, not new or late model vehicles.

Let me state right off the line I took a chance and bought it sight unseen relying on the honesty of the seller, This was due to me being ill and unable to travel. Never, ever do this as it will get you in trouble every time.

We barely got it off the truck and to the shop. The coil had a hole in it, plugs and plug wires shot, rotor and cap were shot. The front end bushings were shot as were the lower ball joints. The shocks were no good. It needed a new thermostat and radiator hoses and the carburator was loose and leaking air.

The interior was very good with the exception of the front passenger carpet which appeared to have been fried by the catalytic convertor.
a scrap of matching bathroom carpet was placed over the hole, probably for picture taking of the interior.

The exterior looks pretty good from a distance which I knew about. I feel sorry for the owner as this paint does not have the quality it should for what he paid for it. The worst part is that it is a non Ford color and will have to be stripped and repainted in the original color(s).

$2,500.00 later all the bad engine parts are replaced or repaired. I put new shocks on the front.

Still to be done - new catalytic convertor, new rear shocks, new u-joints, and pack the front and rear bearings. Also, the car still has to be smog checked and licensed. Since I have spent the budget this will have to wait awhile.

I call this car my time machine and now really enjoy it. I would have still bought it if I had known her flaws, most of which seem to be from sitting around for a log time. I just wouldn't have paid so much for the priviledge. I feel lucky in getting such a complete car with no hidden damage. It is difficult to find a clean 4 cylinder Ghia. I will eventually get her in great shape as money permits. Being on a fixed income it is a slow project.

I think buying a car online is great, but do your homework and inspect every square inch of the car. Even an honest seller is tempted to cut corners and of course you will never get the full story.

Mustang II's are still rarely considered a "real mustang" even though the first years from 64 to 66 were mainly Falcon and the ones from 1980 on were on the Fox platform.

About 180,000 a year were built during the last great energy crisis, mainly 4 cylinder and were advertised as luxury cars. There are very few on the road today. Many were junked as they got older as they had no trade value. Another great amount were farmed for their front sub-frame that was used in many vintage trucks and aftermarket suppliers now manufacture a new version.

If you want to drive a distinctive car that portended the future of modern automobiles this is the one and can be done economically. Look at the wiper control on the turn signal lever. Be aware this car has a rudimentary computer (electronic control module)that will fail at the most inconvenient moment and just stops dead. This is true of many Ford vehicles of this era.
