What it's Worth - Price Range Information
Just Sold on eBay Motors
The Just Sold on eBay Motors price range represents the lowest and highest completed sale price for this vehicle on eBay Motors within the last 90 days.
Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value Range
The Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value is representative of dealers' asking prices and is the starting point for negotiation between a consumer and a dealer. This Suggested Retail Value assumes that the vehicle has been fully reconditioned and has a clean title history. This value also takes into account the dealers' profit, costs for advertising, sales commissions and other costs of doing business. The range represents asking prices that typically occur for the vehicle model throughout the United States, not all vehicles sell for the exact same price, which is why the company also offers a value range. By showing both the low and high ends of the range the company can better reflect whether a given vehicle's asking price varies widely or hardly at all. The final sale price will likely be less depending on the vehicle's actual condition, popularity, type of warranty offered and local market conditions. This range includes pricing for used vehicles, not new or late model vehicles.

Hello, Seller refused to take my check. Even offered to let him keep the car until check cleared. Mustang was advertised as a Mach One and was misreprented. It was not a Mach One, only a Sports roof model, which is worth much less in value. I offered him a $1,000 less. He refused, I told him to sell it to somebody else. Thanks, Jim Lewis

I feel very strongly that I was completely mislead... and ripped off... I will never purchase a car using Ebay again... there are too many opportunities to falsify pictures... I will probably scrap this project as a bad job... and cut my losses because 50% of the components are missing... parts that are in pictures are lost... etc... When I first saw the car I thought I knew I got ripped off but being a man that would never go back on my word... I followed through on the deal...

1973 Ford Mustang: 73 Ford Mustang Mach 1 - Gone In 60 Seconds beauty!

What I love is that it is the EXACT real "Elanor" from the original 1974 film "Gone in 60 Seconds". The 73 Mustang Mach 1 has a much more comfortable cockpit than the 69/70 Mach 1's which cram you in and have no upper seat adjustment. The 73 kind of lays you lower down more like a corvette would. Further more, the 71 to 73 Mach 1's had a much better handling and suspension system. So cornering is much nicer. As far as looks go, it's just irresistibly beautiful. Ford advertised it as the "Flat Back" mustang, due to it's amazingly flat back. Which is awesome, but leaves you with the worst blind spot you have ever seen. Basically, don't drive in reverse and your fine. Otherwise, get a backup camera for it! haha :) Ford noted this car as modeled after the Italian sports cars of the time. And as the saying goes, when driving an Italian Sports Car, you don't look back! Many problems that the first 5 years of the mustangs had were corrected on the 71 to 73's. Such as the cowl box drainage issue, which is much more efficient on the 71 to 73 models. I think the interior is a bit cooler on the first five years, but ford didn't skimp out on the 73. It's just a bit boxy for my taste.

Good Points: Sexy sleek body lines, aggressive hood, mean "muscle car" stance, upgraded factory handling, uber comfortable interior.

Bad Points: Interior is nice and comfortable but could look nicer. Parts for 71 to 73 Mustangs are available, but not as abundant as 65 to 70 mustangs. You can get 71 to 73 parts, but a few catalogs are needed to find everything. Rear tail-lights not as pretty as the 70, but still nice.

In my honest opinion, the 73 Mach 1 is the MOST under-rated mustang of all time. A lot of people say the 69/70 Mach 1's are the best, because in 73 the emissions laws were passed and ford changed their horsepower ratings from the back of the motor to the back tires. Despite this fact, I'd say they put out the same amount of horsepower as any other Mach 1. My model is the Mach 1 Cobra Jet w/ a 351 Cleveland block, and I would say that this car can definitely get up and go just like a Pony Car should!

In short, for the price of the 69/70's and the lack of handling they have. Go with the 71 to 73 and have more fun with it! Plus the fact that H.B. Hallicki clearly showed us what a 73 can do in his awesome original movie from 1974 "Gone In 60 Seconds". Who can deny the last of the true Muscle Cars. 73 Mustang Mach 1 CJ - for the win!

bought car because they becoming scarce. 1973 mustang mach 1 cobra jet.
car was not what seller was promoting. fair professional body work and paint. was not told of rust unrepaired floor pans while in comunication with seller. drove 400 mile to get one way.
ALOT of the parts were not replaced on car when reassymbled. buyer beware.
performance: runs fast
reliability: hey, it's 34 yrs old. not bad
comfort: has factory air, 4 spd.
quality and crafsomeship. q/c of the professional body work was sub par. have done many a resto myself and would be considerd a highly regarded crafsman.
needs engine rebuild when told former owner had it "professionally" done.
exspected that though.
will make a very nice car when i get it restored correctly.
as far as e-bay goes? exciting while bidding. excited to win. then reality sinks in when you get you prize. was not pleased with buying car sight unseen. never do that again. but will make a very high priced low volume car.

1973 Ford Mustang: purchasing classic cars off ebay

I have purchased many cars off ebay, most are classics or collectors. I look for the cars that are complete and ready to go. Of all the cars I've bought, this Mustang is the cleanest and best overall condition. If I have five cars sitting on the floor, everyone naturally gravitate to the Mustang. It was described by the seller, and exceeded everything it was listed at. Some people describe their cars as much more than they really are, but not this one. If you are looking for a good car, consider the price you pay, if it is too good a deal to beleive, it's probably a scam or over thought of by the seller. Ask the seller questions, and make sure it comes only through your ebay account. Consider shipping charges in your bid, and just have fun with it.
