1999 Ford F-350

The 1999 F-350 Ford Super Duty 4x4 is an excellent example of Ford's never ending strive to provide a quality vehicle. Ford in these years continued to provide the straight front axle in the F-350, and an updated body style that fixed a lot of the previous years rust out issues. The ride is a little harsh, although very predictable. Fit and finish is excellent, and offers a quiet and comfortable interior. Controls are easy to reach. Engine options leave some to be desired- the 5.4 liter V-8 is a little under-powered when pulling a heavy trailer, the 6.8 liter V-10 consumes too much fuel, and the 7.3 liter diesel is an expensive option. The 5.4 design being offered in a 5.8/5.9 version would be a good choice. I chose the extended cab/long bed combination, which offers seating for 6 and room for cargo without the wheelbase getting too long. The crew cab/long bed version is too long for city driving, and the shorter bed sacrifices cargo space. Standard cab/long beds limit passengers, and offer little storage space. I would highly recommend the extended cab. All-in all a good dependable vehicle.

Decided to buy it because it's a diesel, and the newer Fords just have horrible motors for the diesels. So it either had to be brand new or up until they changed from the 7.3 L motor. The truck itself was a good deal. It had everything we wanted except leather, but we will do that later. Truck rides smooth, however it's still a diesel so it's not the quietest thing ever. However the truck was a great deal, and I can't justify spending 60,000+for a new one.

Had bad u-joint when picked up. With close to 800 miles to drive, and on the positive side the seller allowed me to repair the U-joint at his place of buissness, and purchased the item for me at his expense.

I purchased this vehicle for my apartment rental business. I have purchased many things on ebay and unfortunately this purchase has turned into a negative one.

June 8th – truck sits at dealership for whole week awaiting worldwide to pick up. Worldwide picks up truck from Sunshine Ford either on the 8th or the 9th

June 26th – After dozens of calls the truck is finally ready he insures me that all of the work that needed to be done was done. That a transmission shop installed the new transmission lines and changed the oil cooler assembly which was also leaking. In addition also repaired the front sway bar links and front sway bar bushings, rear sway bar links and rear sway bar bushings, rear shocks, rear pinion seal, inner tie rod end on pitman arm. Basically everything on the Sunshine Ford list that needed to be done for safety reasons and to run correctly.

June 29th – I flew up to Boston – took the Logan Express Bus to Braintree where Kyle employee of Worldwide Preowned picks me up…we then drive to the dealership. Once at the dealership he hands me the keys and tells me everything is fine and ready to go. I leave confident that everything is fixed. About 10 min down the road the entire front end is shaking and I smell something burning. I pull over into a near by gas station and transmission fluid is dripping from the lines that were never changed. Nor was the oil cooler installed. I did notice the rear sway bar links were changed and also the front sway bar links were changed. I then drove the vehicle back to Worldwide Pre-owned and called Kyle spoke with him and said he would contact Don. At this point it was getting late and had to get back for work the next day. I checked the transmission fluid level was ok and headed back to Newburgh, NY where I was thinking I would have it fixed at the dealership correctly and have him pay the bill. I drove it for a little over an hour and then once I got to the toll booth and stopped to pick up the ticket the vehicle would move and the transmission was whining and spinning. I put the vehicle in park and then I put it in 1st gear and nursed it to the side of the road. I call Kyle and Worldwide Preowned as this is the only cell phone number I have and leave an angry message. It was then towed to AAMCO transmission in North Oxford, MA where it was left until the morning. I took a taxi back to White Plains NY – cost was $400.00 as a plane ticket was just about the same price. It’s now 12:30am at this point and I am at my wits end. I arrive home just before 5:00am. the following morning AAMCO says transmission is going to need work - worldwide says they will pick truck up from AAMCO and bring it back to transmission shop that did the work. I contact attorney who says he will take the case as the vehicle is a lemon...No calls or notification from Worldwide Preowned the truck is dropped back off at my house on July 3rd - i am not home -transmission is still leaking fluid from the lines and transmission - at this time i am not using the vehicle and requesting my money back.

I recently purchased an e-350 ford box truck from Tyson ford in vienna Va.It was listed as having an "excelent' transmision and motor.When I went to pick it up I had to wait because it would not start and they had to put another battery in it.when I did get it, The back floor was caked with dried mud. When I drove it back to pa.I noticed it was jerking around in the lower gears.I waited to get the title, which they told me I would have the next week ,to take it to a mechanic to get inspected and registered.I did not recieve the title for over three weeks,the day before the temperary tags expired.I then took the vehicle to two different mechanics who both said the transmission was shot.I then called Tysons Ford back,who told me my 30 days were up and there was nothing they would do about it.I believe they knew or should have known about this problem if they looked over this truck like they said they did.

The truck has a oil pan leak due to rust. The front tires need replacing and a front end alignment. Also the Alternator is defective and will have to be replaced. The oil pan will have to be replaced and that will require removing the engine.

this truck is the bomb, will pull a stump lots power in the v10 mpg 10- 12 hwy not bad for such hge truck love the stock interior manual windows mirror locks double bench seats all old school...nothing to break. cant say enough love the truck.

have owned this truck since new,the best truck i have ever had no complaints here,with reasonable care and mainaince and a little love she will carry you safe for many many miles,thumbs down on the 6.0,but the 7.3 is the best
