2001 Dodge Ram 2500

The 2001 dodge ram I bought through e-bay was in very poor condition. Replaced upper and lower ball joints on both sides. Replaced all tie rod ends. Replaced track bar. Did not have a converter or muffler. The dash had a crack all the way across it. Had to replace it. Did not come with a cig. liter in outlet. Did not have a jack or lug wrench. Hail damage to roof. Did not have factory hood. Paint did not match. Paint on right side of box does not match. Came with offset wheels. Has an odd tire on left rear. Had trouble with title. I bough this truck on e-bay because a fried suggested it. Neither one of us will do it again! The truck was grossly misrepresented.

I love the 2001 and back with the old body style. Smaller and easier to get in and out of. The Dodge Ram is a great truck

This is a friendly monster of a truck. You almost need a step stool to get in if you do not have running boards. Tremendous power and efficiency out of the Cummins diesel. Will get 20 mpg on the road. Capable of hauling big loads easily. Capable of burning restaurant fry oil (well filtered and de-acidified). Comfortable seats, great cruise, air, stereo, etc. Mine had 242,000 on it when purchased and seats still looked new. Engine purrs right along with big torque jump when shifting up, unlike the bog down of its gasoline brethren. Having those little doors in the back for the rear seat is really great for mule saddles and other tack as well as trips to Costco. ONly negative is that the hood insulation needs replaced which it should not after only 7 years. I know a fella who is getting 600 hp out of his, but that is just silly.

The truck was exactly what I was looking for. It was in clean condition inside and out, well maintained and ready to work. RLB sales from whom I purchased the vehicle was very good to work with as was Trey McMinn, the salesman I worked with directly. It's a beautiful truck and should work well for many years to come.

The Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 diesel is an well built truck that may not be the best in any one category, but can do just about anything you could ask of a good truck and it can do it verry well. The only problem I know of with these trucks is that the lift pump is weak and when it dies it causes the injection pump to go as well (verry expensive). The good news is that there are now many good fixes for the lift pump problem. If power is a problem, there are some excellent upgrades available for this truck; exhaust, cold air intake, computer tuner, and injectors.

I bought this 2001 dodge ram because it had many of the options that I was looking for. After I got it home I discovered many things wrong with it. The first thing on the way home the thermostat was out of it and it was about 0 all the way across MN and ND, was a very cold ride home. Then the slave cylinder on the clutch is going out I about hit a couple of people the first night cause I couldn't disengage the clutch. When I pulled the codes off of the vehicle it gave me a fuel pump code, so that will be another $1500 to fix. I was also extremely disappointed in the rust on the frame, axles, driveline, etc... the body is in good shape buts it's ugly when you crawl underneath it. When I asked seller if it had rust they told me it just had a little on a piece of the running board....what a load of &$@# that was. It does run good but it will be a matter of time before the fuel pump goes out, I won't let my wife and 3 month old boy ride in it till I get it fixed cause i'm afraid it will strand me some day. I have to say I will never buy another vehicle on ebay, I want to be able to do a test drive and look the thing over really good before I buy something. I still love ebay!!!!

Bought this truck to pull a trailer. Much better gas (diesel) mileage (around 16-17 mpg) than the comparable Chevy (12-13 mpg). This is the first diesel we've owned and it's very loud and is a rough ride. When buying online, look at the photos carefully. We didn't notice that one tire was one size smaller than all the rest until we wen to buy new tires. This truck is a work horse and has a lot of power. Do NOT let it run out of fuel. The gas guage on these trucks, including ours, has a track record of not being accurate; so pay attention to the miles driven. Can't really judge the 4 wheel drive as it's only been used to back up a steep driveway, and the tires needed replaced during that time. My father owns one and loves it, but his is automatic.
